The Amazing Sink for your Bathroom Posted: 13 Aug 2012 10:21 AM PDT Sinks are very hard to choose. It is hard to figure if you want a big one or a small one, a white one or a grey one, rectangular or round. The sink that perfectly fits in your bathroom seems to be far away when you have a quick decision to make. And when you`re decorating your dream house, quick decisions are the worst ones. And so, you find yourself complaining about the sink the next day you buy it. But not with this one. The Gilded Meadow was designed by the designers of Kohler Co. and it makes you return in time. I say that because this amazing and modern sink looks like the ones the Roman emperors used for their famous baths. Even if this sink is a very simple one and looks like a bowl on a table, her catchy design makes her famous.
With floral composition and the golden tap this amazing sink will change the entire look of your bathroom and will match perfectly with a nice Jacuzzi and a big mirror. The unique combination between the floral engraving and the golden tap will make you finally say that you found your perfect sink, the one that will always stay in your bathroom or powder room without being changed the very next day. Stan Bitters Ceramic Birdhouses Posted: 13 Aug 2012 08:16 AM PDT If you live in a house and have a bit of a garden, you must love wildlife, too. That is because there are so many wild creatures out there that come near your close like small birds or squirrels or some other little beings that are now used to people and come close to us and our homes. Some birds even depend on people to get food and water and also some shelter when the cold season comes. That is why many people purchase or make bird houses and place them in their gardens as a peace offering for the wild birds and also for giving them a helping hand. These Stan Bitters Ceramic Birdhouses are great and they are both functional and decorative, so you can consider them real works of art.
These bird houses are made of ceramics and the designer and artist Stan Bitters tried and succeeded to give them a personal feature. This is the special design that tries to stay as close to natural as possible, so it is similar to the bird houses wild birds build some place in Africa. Then there is the beautiful volcanic aspect given to the bird houses that makes this ceramics look incredible. There is a little hole on the side of the ceramic sphere that is actually the “door” and also the birdie house gets to be suspended with a cord. It is interesting and funny and available in many colours. You can purchase one for about $250 and you will have a totally unique product that is hand made and hand glazed. Posted: 13 Aug 2012 07:12 AM PDT Details are very important for everything. For example a dress without a small brooch or belt or a house without the small accessories are totally dull. And nothing can be worse than a dull house. It makes you feel like living in a place where you do not want to be. So if you want to love your home you just have to make it beautiful by adding the right small objects that decorate it. Here is a wonderful idea for a living room: the Greigii Taper Holder. It is small but effective for decorating the room and it also seems very artistic and elegant. As you can see, it is a nicely designed candle holder that is really original as design, being shaped like a tulip. The candle is placed in the middle of the tulip flower and seems to emerge from it. The tall stem of the flower is swirling at the base, forming a nice circle that supports the candle holder. The candle holder is made of brass and nickel and looks all shiny and beautiful. Its size (20cm H, 11cm diameter) makes it perfect for being displayed on any living room table, side table and even mantlepiece. It sells for €48.00. Contemporary black interior design by Mim Design Posted: 13 Aug 2012 05:07 AM PDT The residence in the picture is located in Melbourne,Australia and Mim Design created this impressive contemporary interior design. It was already an art deco residence, but what was succeeded was to complement and emphasize the beautiful period features. The result is a striking and dramatic monochromatic color palette, impossible not to impress. The original Art Deco home was the front part and the rooms were transformed into a retreat for the client. The mood and deluxe details are the key words; actually, there is a constant feeling of high level of detail and finishing and this is also applied to the contemporary space, but here it there is a more casual feel that makes you feel comfortable. The sitting and dining room are perfectly connected; double doors lead into these rooms with originality and beautiful details. The central theme that can be encountered through different spaces of the house is the layering of portals.
The soft grey walls with black framing and window shutters portray a deluxe bedroom setting; the kitchen is the anchor of the house connecting the original home and the more recent extension. The monochromatic palette brings a clean contemporary line even in the kitchen. The integration of finishes and shapes into the lower living room area is great. In fact, everything is great and contributes to create a calm and serene backdrop where isolated elements, artwork or just a sofa pillow make the difference; the vibrant blue chair against the soft gray of the bedroom is sublime and everything around transforms this place into my kind of interior space. Old farmhouse with a mix of vintage and cutting edge Posted: 13 Aug 2012 03:41 AM PDT Nothing compares to a house in the middle of a Mediterranean garden, a field of lavender in bloom. Actually, the house is a renovated farmhouse that accomplishes all dreams; it looks modern in spite of the years and the team of Palau de Casavells is the one paying homage to the architecture, renewing it with a strong mix of vintage and cutting edge. The feeling of sleeping with a lot of art is unique; the corner with great visual strength, with walls covered with lime paint on a small scale, by Cati Alos has a strong impact on everyone. The Alsatian comfort of the XVIII century is more than inviting to discover the great art works it hosts. The general impression you have is one of taking a great care of the past and a permanent concern to retain the maximum number of items from the original construction and this can only be appreciated. Thus, the house becomes a lesson in architecture, a way of articulating the roof, the strength of the walls and craft materials at the same time.
The house has a simple color palette marked by the tones of the natural materials, but there are some points of surprise as certain furniture, the blue wall of the bedroom and, above all, colorful works of art in large format. These splashes of color have a special effect and no matter where you look, you like what you see and it seems that you entered into another world, a dream world.{found on nuevo-estilo}. Wood Magazine Rack and End Table Posted: 13 Aug 2012 03:37 AM PDT Printed press is about to be extinct, as many people now, especially those living in large cities, with easy access to the Internet, read all the news online and do not need a printed magazine or newspaper for this. However, every once in a while I like reading a magazine or at least the junk mail that shows me the special prices for this week offered by the nearest supermarket. As I never have a place for them, I pile them up in the living room, on the coffee table or on the balcony. So in these cases I wish i had a special place for storing them, where I can find them easily and not bump into them every time. This is the Wood Magazine Rack and End Table, a nice combination between a magazine rack and a side table, perfect for busy people like you and me. This is actually a square side table that is made of wood and which has an unexpected hole on the other half. But this hole is secured with canvas and this makes for the magazine rack. It is actually a kind of a pocket on the side of a side table (I know, it sounds hilarious) where you can keep magazines, newspapers, calendars or whatever you consider appropriate. It is available for $195. Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Wood Magazine Rack and End Table |

The S&T office from Wellington, New Zealand Posted: 13 Aug 2012 12:21 AM PDT Located in Wellington, New Zealand, this new office was originally an old building with historic value. The building was beautiful and historically-significant but it was also outdated. So when the Stephenson & Turner architects decided to make it their new office, they had to make some major and significant changes. The office covers a total area of 500.0 square meters and it was completed in 2011. The multiple award-winning design studio assigned a team to reconfigure the space and to turn it into a modern office with sustainable architecture and a team-oriented design. The office's interior was designed to encourage teamwork, interaction and social activities. Originally, the building was a compartimentalized space divided into several small zones. When reorganizing this space, the architects created an open area and the screens and partitions were removed.
The interior is now a large, open and airy space with lots of natural light coming through the windows. The office is also a modern space featuring a bold and vibrant color palette that includes shades of purple, green and blue. The timber floors were preserved and they provide a nice contrast with the colorful carpets while also creating a warm atmosphere. The textures are also contributing to the overall cozy look. There are also some other features that have been preserved, aside from the old timber floors. They include elements such as the brick walls or the open trusses and they are testimonies to the building's 110 year old history.
