The freshness brought by turquoise and light blue

Posted: 27 May 2012 06:12 AM PDT

I began my career as a teacher somewhere in a rural area a couple years ago. One of the things that I loved there was the wonderful house where I could stay and I had all the amenities of a modern house. The breathtaking surroundings and the fresh air had overwhelmed me completely.

Workshop/APD designed a complex of six shingle houses with wonderful interior designs created by Kathryn Forest Design which remind me of that lovely house. All these small houses look like some lovely cottages and have the fresh and warm interiors which make you think of the peaceful beach houses. You will notice the white interiors which are contrasted by turquoise accents or different elements and the light blue items that create a marine ambiance and make you think of the blue waters of seas or the a light blue summer sky.

For example you can notice some lovely turquoise armchairs and some dishes on a dinner table which are light blue and green and that seem to add more life and freshness to the white interior.

Another example refers to a great rustic dinner table of wood contrasted by the light blue decorative vases or the light blue and white lampshade.

Another interior has an interesting turquoise table that seems to be the foal point of this room.

Splendid light blue pieces of furniture complete an optimistic white interior which makes you feel relaxed and enjoy the comfort of a lovely bedroom.

All these examples show you the great impact that turquoise and light blue elements can create in some white interiors and the freshness and peacefulness they may bring inside.

Beautiful Green Rooftop

I don't know exactly what's the exact percentage of people living in cities and in the country sides, but I know for sure that there are a lot more people living in crowded cities than in other countryside settlements. Given this fact a lot of people don't see themselves surrounded by lush green vegetation on their everyday life.

This thing might be an inconvenient for those who want to relax on a patio, pick their home-grown herbs or have an outside dinner. Luckily there are a few unusual ways to have your own "back yard" on the top of your apartment building. Some people have already done it and it wasn't that hard, after you have figured out the space, of course. Diana Richards and her boyfriend Chris Miller turned their standard roof deck in a marvelous roof garden and a great place to hand out.

Everything was done from scavenged, recycled or reused materials so the whole project won't cost a lot of money. Their new place offer them the possibility to watch the sun going down to harvest their own vegetable and fresh herbs while spending time with their friends, all that in the heart of the city. They make their own compost and use ingenious irrigation systems for their plants to grow healthy on top of a building, but I think is worth all the effort. Don't you?
