Sometimes it is hard to find the perfect place but if you have enough money perhaps things can become easier. The spacious and modern houses are usually located in residential areas and not too many people can afford their luxury. This sleek two bedroom apartment was designed by Gwathmey Siegel & Associates. The black and white interior design it’s typical masculine feel. This type of home consists of two bedrooms, two full bathrooms and one partial bath and situated in a strategic area which offers plenty of advantages. Residence designed for a busy Melbourne couple and their three children Posted: 24 May 2012 08:37 AM PDT For those who have a busy life in a crowded city and want to spent some time apart from it, this simple but elegant house is the perfect place for living in the middle of the nature. Built and designed by a team of architects from Turco & Associates assisted by Mitsuori Architects, in collaboration with M.R. Anderson Consulting Engineers and BDH constructions, this 194 square meters house is placed on a 4,402 square meters area surrounded by old, impressive trees which offer great views and also privacy for the inhabitants. The construction itself, located in Aireys Inlet, Victoria, Australia, seems to float above the ground thanks to its resistance structure which is hidden under the house. Outside, the combination of wood, concrete, steel and glass makes a perfect balance between the building and the natural environment while inside the owners can enjoy a cozy, traditional atmosphere thanks to those big, stone walls. In my opinion, I think that the living room is the most beautiful place from the entire house; the room is surrounded by big sliding glass doors which lead us to a wooden porch facing the views while the finishes are a combination of traditional and contemporary elements.
The shiny stained concrete floors and white ceilings give the impression of an airy room, a place which doesn't need too much furniture to make the inhabitants happy and comfortable. In the right side of the room there is also the eating area, with a modern and bright kitchen and the dining table which match the rest of the furniture. The four bedrooms are placed in a more private area, where the family members can spend time and enjoy the tranquility and fresh air. The Quello Desk-Table by Phil Proctor Posted: 24 May 2012 05:51 AM PDT A small desk or a console table are always useful. However, when you don't necessarily need them but would still find them useful from time to time, the idea of having a desk just for occasional use is not something we would consider. It's because it would occupy space that we can use for something else, of greater interest. However, there's a way to have them both, space and desk/console table. The solution is the Quello Table. Unlike typical desk or console tables, this piece serves a double purpose. It can be sued either as a desk or table and the best part is that is takes very little space. It's because of tis design. The Quello Table is a contemporary piece of furniture with a minimalist design. It's a piece that can only be used when placed against the wall. That's because of its shape. The table is quite small but it provides enough space to make it comfortable for you to work at.
Notice that the table/desk only features a pair of feet. It's because it needs the wall to provide support on the other side. This piece is handcrafted in Britain and it was designed by Phil Proctor. It's a charming piece of furniture, both functional and eye-catching. It has a top that slides both ways allowing access to the storage underneath. This allows you to access that space without the objects from the desk. For a complete look you can also opt for the matching stool. Concrete structure residence with a tropical garden inside Posted: 24 May 2012 04:57 AM PDT The Pricila House is a stylish contemporary residence located in Núñez, Buenos Aires, Argentina. The construction was completed in 2010. The house covers a total area of 1,000 square meters. It was designed by Martín Gomez & Gonzalo Veloso from Estudio Martín Gómez Arquitectos. The Pricila House has a very interesting design. It's modern but also mysterious. The façade is intriguing and lets you see inside but only enough to make you curious. The house was built with a concrete structure. Other materials that were used in the process include Lapacho wood that was extensively used for all the floors and marble mostly used for the exterior, including the pool. The exterior areas are impressive but so is the interior. Inside, the 3-meter high ceilings are definitely intriguing. The house has two levels and they are connected by a very beautiful spiral staircase that has become the central focal point for the décor.
The spiral staircase has a circular skylight above that lets light pass through and creates a very beautiful image. The ground floor has floor-to-ceiling glass walls that basically open up the space towards the exterior. The barrier between indoors and outdoors is almost invisible. The upper level is more private but still features large windows and a whole range of balconies. Since the owner are outdoor lovers, the property includes many outdoors areas such as the barbeque, the outdoor chimneys, the Jacuzzi pools and the practice shooting spaces, creates at the request of the owners.{found on archdaily}. Posted: 24 May 2012 02:42 AM PDT Taking a walk through a large hardware store, you will find all the things that you may or may not use in your entire life, one thing is certain there are things for each and every one of you. Among the things I would never use is this dragon sink tap. I would never use it because of my cultural background and not because it doesn't look good or something like that. Asian culture is based on strong beliefs in the afterlife as well in previous lives.Their calendar has deep implications and each year corresponds to a different animal. Asians, especially the Chinese and Japanese believe that they are the descendants of the dragon, a mighty creature that symbolizes power and mystery. Despite its imposing stature the Asians don't look at the dragon as we do, the mythical beast is long celebrated for its benevolence, intelligence and good will.
That is why we see graphical representations, statues and other things I those regions, because of their close connection with mythology. This dragon shaped sink tap from Mestre is another way to celebrate and to show their respect for tradition. The Swarovski Crystals are a modern touch symbolizing richness and wealth. This sculptural luxury piece is only for connoisseurs and for those with the specific cultural background, because somebody like me could never appreciate this and probably look at it from a whole different perspective. Modern residence in the Columbia Gorge Posted: 24 May 2012 12:50 AM PDT This beautiful house belongs to Tao Berman, a kayaker who has always dreamed about this place. He grew up in the mountains of northern Washington and had a really tough childhood. With no electricity and no heat, he used to sleep outside during the summer. He grew up dreaming that one day he would be able to build his own house. Well…he finally did it. After spending so much time dreaming about it, he knew exactly what he wanted. When he finally made enough money as a professional white-water kayaker, Mr. Berman decided to make his dream come true. His house is located in a bluff above the Columbia Gorge and it covers an area of 3,500 square feet. It's a contemporary residence, unlike the traditional ones that surround it. It's a simple but very inviting home and it also offers views of the river.
The house is not only beautiful but also environmentally-friendly. It was built using weathered, rusty steel and glass. It's a Y-shaped structure and the design was more or less dictated by the weather conditions from the area. The house has large, continuous windows on two sides that offer views of the Mount Hood and Columbia River Gorge. The interior features white walls and bamboo floors throughout. The internal structure was dictated by the outdoors conditions. It's why the kitchen is located in the corner where it can't block the views and the master bedroom is in the back, away from the wind but close to the views.{found on wsj}. Playful Kids bathroom decoration ideas Posted: 24 May 2012 12:10 AM PDT I am not a parent myself yet but based on what I've seen so far in my humble existence parents thinks they know what's best for their kinds. On one hand parents have more experience and they encountered a lot of situations from which they've learned a thing or two but on the other hand kinds know better that they like and what they feel about different things. The reason I brought up this discussion is because I saw some interesting decorative ideas for children's bathroom and I know that parents have the last word when an issue like this appears and maybe sometimes is better to listen our kid's desires because kids don't stay like that forever; they grow up and childhood becomes a good or a bad memory. Design lovers can make a child's dream reality using these ideas from Ponte Giulio.
A bathroom is a bathroom therefore apart from the design this has to be perfectly functional. It is time to make the bathroom fun so kids would love it and not be moody when its bath time. Other activities like brushing their teeth or washing hands before dinner become part of a game and you won't have to wrestle them every morning. A friendly bathroom environment is going to be very appreciated by children and it encourages them to be more careful about their personal hygiene.
