Posted: 08 May 2012 10:31 AM PDT Another very fresh creation presented at the Salone del Mobile 2012 in Milan is this chair. My first thoughts when I first looked at this chair were taking me to my special place where I like to relax and recharge my batteries, listening to some good old tunes. This chair will probably be the special place for someone who also seeks the ultimate place for relaxation. I can easily say that I see very pregnant marks of sophistication and class in this design. FRIDAY has a marvelous wooden frame, a back section of butt leather and the design is reminiscent of a pattern cut. Soft comfortable cushions complement wonderfully the spring action system that offers superb comfort designed to last forever. Those who created this didn't just focused on style but concentrating also on functionality and versatility.
Therefore, the FRIDAY lounge chair measures 78 cm. W x 63 cm. H x 84 cm D and it is available in a great variety of woods , leathers and cushion fabrics. Zeitraum Company designed a product that can very easily be the central piece in a more minimalist décor or a piece of furniture that can work wonderfully in a rich interior that focuses on modernism and quality. For I don't know what reason I prefer natural materials and as we can see here, great things are accomplished using natural materials and a little bit of imagination. Challenging Concrete Espresso Solo Machine Posted: 08 May 2012 07:57 AM PDT Life is a road full of challenges and experiences. Sometimes the only way to go forward is to accept the challenges and try to face them. It may seem hard or you may ask yourself why you but you should not pay attention too much to these details because every man has his own way and thus his own challenges, so that nobody can escape his destiny. At Shenkar College of Engineering and Design there is a student named Shmuel Linski from Israel. He succeeded to design an original espresso machine which looks like a real challenge. He chose some contrastive materials which make this espresso look very interesting and challenging. The espresso machine was named Espresso Solo and the chosen materials were the concrete for its case and metal for its working parts.Espresso Solo makes only espresso short and long and it works with coffee beans. You will definitely adore the smell of a fresh coffee that will stimulate all your senses and make you feel fresh and full of energy.
The interesting design of this espresso machine has a decorative function too. The concrete case makes it look more like a sculpture which can decorate the interior of a kitchen and be a functional device at the same time. Those who love items that have an industrial look may also love Espresso Solo. It has also an industrial design due to the concrete and metal materials used for its production. Although it looks a little bit too rough you may see it as a nice challenge for those who will notice it in your kitchen so that it will become a focal point for your interior.{found on dezeen}. Posted: 08 May 2012 07:34 AM PDT I love the nature because it is pure and it is very relaxing. The nature has many inspirational things for you to use in your home. For instance take this branch light example. An example for your home transformation, a modern touch yet a more approach to the nature itself, is the branch light. If you would like this in your home you would have to gather some materials. You will need: along branch(don't cut it from a tree use a dry one that is found on the ground), three pendant lights and wire to conduct electricity to the lights. The most important thing in this project is to make sure that the branch will stay in its place, so you will have to fix it well so that it won't fall on your head when you are drinking your tea with some friends.
A thing that I think you will spend some money will be an electrician, if you are one well that's a money save for your interior design. You will feel like staying in the woods at a picnic when you eat, or just admiring the outdoors when you will close your eyes. The smell of the branch will give an impact on your mood, transforming the room with the branch design in a relaxing one. Try it yourself and you will not be disappointed! Good luck!{pictures found on 1&2,3 and 4}. Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to DIY Branch Pendant Lamp |
What color should I paint my home office Posted: 08 May 2012 06:31 AM PDT If your home is big enough, you can easily turn one of the rooms into a home office. It doesn’t need to be a large area. The basement could work as well. But finding the space for the office is not all there is to it. You also need to create an appropriate decor for it. The color is very important in this case. A dark office can be depressing but a too colorful one can be distracting. Let’s see some of the steps you’ll need to take in order to find the right color. First of all, decide on a style. If you want your office to have a masculine feel than neutral colors are the way to go. If, on the other hand, you plan on turning it into a more feminine area, you should consider pastels and brighter colors.
Another important step is determining the amount of light that you’ll have in the office. The office should be bright as large windows are preferable. In this case you can further enhance this look by using colors such as white to make the office seem bigger. Darker colors are also suitable. Since the room is already filled with light coming through the windows, there’s no need to try brightening up the room by using light colors. There’s also the possibility of having a space with little windows or with no windows at all, in which case the color needs to be as bright as possible. After you have decided on a color for the walls, it’s time to pick the furniture. If the walls are bright, the furniture can either feature a similar color tone or a contrasting shade. It all depends on the result you want to obtain. Natural wood color is the most versatile and matches with everything. After you have chosen the furniture, all you need are some decorations. Since until now you’ve probably opted for more neutral tones, it would be a good idea to add some vibrant colors. You can do that with the help of artwork for the walls and all sorts of accessories and decorations such as lamps and office tools. Make sure all the colors match and that the contrast is visually pleasing.{picture sources:1,2,3 and 4&5}. 1880 Australian bungalow with a modern addition and lap pool Posted: 08 May 2012 05:58 AM PDT This is an 1880 house located in Adelaide, Australia. It has a traditional Victorian façade and you might think that the back looks the same. Well, you would be wrong. The house features a surprisingly modern addition in the back that makes these two areas seem like two different structures. It's rare to see such contrasting styles under the same roof. The current owners bought this house in 1999. They chose it mostly for the location and the charm of that it presented. The interior was not really what the new owners had in mind so they decided to make some changes. The kitchen was really tiny, the living spaces were dark and the bathroom was really badly positioned. All that had to be changed. As a result, the owners decided to renovate the place and to also add a two-story extension in the back.
After the extension was created, the whole house got brighter. The interior opened up and the back of the house was transformed into an airy and light-filled space. But while the back was drastically transformed, the front of the house was hardly touched. The façade was preserved along with the Victorian ornaments. These were elements that define the house and removing them would have meant the old structure was gone. This is why the owners decided to preserve the front and change the back. This way the house got to keep its charm and character but the interior was remodeled and turned into a more functional and modern space.{found on dwell}. They made our activities more pleasant and tried to make us enjoy every minute of our life. Multifunctional ET 1700 from Hulsta is one of these devices. Crocheted and knitted works by Naomi Paul Posted: 08 May 2012 04:24 AM PDT Recycling and art had gathered from some time now and more and more artists try to make a statement by creating beautiful things from what other people considered useless and thrown away. There are entire galleries that combine recycling and artistic manifestations and now it seems that this way of expressing has appeared also in the furniture industry for masses. Naomi Paul is a designer from London who created a collection based on materials that British considered junk. However, she doesn't use any thrown away material, but only the luxurious materials. Lots of her products are crochet and knitted works, inspired by traditional crafting techniques. She crated almost any kind of home accessories, starting with cushions, till chairs and pendants. All those are beautifully made by crocheting or knitting and the result is amazing because this type of crafting has a lot of meaning. Our grannies and ancestors used to crochet for their loved ones, so this gesture transmits love and caring.
More than this, any crochet item seems vintage and valuable because the process is a very long time one and also delicate, not anyone being able to do it. The items that Naomi Paul designed are very joyful colored so they make you feel happy. Considering crochet is a traditional art, those things can fit any classic room and the flashy colors make them fit even modern ones. I think the crochet chairs are my favorite ones because they seem more conventional and they don't shock at all. Fresh Plus Mobile Operator Showroom Design by A+D Design Posted: 08 May 2012 03:48 AM PDT The Plus Showroom is a flagship store for the biggest Polish mobile operator and it was designed by A+D Design. The design team led by architect Marek Witaszewski came up with a very modern and colorful plan. The main goal of this project was to reflect the fact that Plus Showroom is the most advanced company offering only the highest quality products. Doing that was easier said than done. The team used the concepts of circles and arcs as the main elements for their design. The store was designed as a space where you can enter the world of technology and serves both as a sales and an exhibition area. The sales floor was organized into several zones depending on the purpose they serve. The retail area includes an exhibition space and a more private service desk. As you can see, the store has a very efficient and practical layout.
The great thing about this design is that it allows the whole store to serve as a huge exhibition space and to showcase everything in a simple and modern way. The exhibition ring is a space situated in the center of the sales floor. It's the focal point of the entire design and it's been place in the heart of the store. A very prominent element of this design is the trees. It's an essential element for the design, colorful and friendly, just like the whole store is. Summer family residence featuring big sliding glass doors Posted: 08 May 2012 01:45 AM PDT The Bourke House is a family summer structure located in Matakana, New Zealand. It was a project by Pacific Environments Architects. It's not actually a house in the strict sense of the term. It's a series of pavilions that are connected and form a contemporary structure. The location is very beautiful. The site sits on a prominent peninsular that offers panoramic views of the surround landscape. This way the inhabitants can enjoy relaxing moments in the middle of nature while admiring the amazing views of the sea and the surrounding area. This unusual family retreat is composed of a series of pavilions. The pavilions are linked together and they form a protected central space. This area is used a gathering space. It has access to all the other areas. The main pavilion is usually used as a common living and entertainment area but it can also be closed off for privacy if needed. There's also a separate pavilion that includes the sleeping areas. All the pavilions feature horizontal roofs.
They also have sliding glass doors that offer easy access to the outside areas while also enhancing the connection with the nature. The interior décor of the pavilions is neutral. It features salvaged timber structures from the seashore and a very relaxing and calm atmosphere. The spaces are personalized with all sorts of collections. The monotony of the neutral interior décor is broken by sporadic pops of red that can be found in all the pavilions. This beautiful family retreat is not only a very interesting eclectic mix and a relaxing destination, but also a sustainable structure. It uses natural energy for cooling and heating, solar hot water and a rainwater recycling system.{found on contemporist}.
