Bathtub Candle

Posted: 19 Dec 2011 11:09 AM PST

When I am very tired I just want to have a long hot bath and relax there in the water until I feel better and ready to face life again. Just like me many other people like relaxing in the bathtub. And in order to make the atmosphere even more relaxing and calm, you should also dim the lights. Again some people prefer using candles instead of the strong light of the light bulbs. This Bathtub candle is perfect for my scenario and you can use it to make the environment perfect for a relaxing bath or for a romantic one, too. This candle is actually a normal candle that is only shaped like a bathtub.

The exterior of the candle, I mean the bathtub shape is made of hard paraffin wax and the inside is filled with soft wax that also has a thread inside. You will lit that thread with a match and it will burn, also burning the wax around. The design of this item is very interesting, as the candle looks like an old Victorian bathtub, having the back part a bit higher than the front part and resting gently on four animal legs. Apart from the nice design, the candle offers you five hours of continuous discrete lighting for just $13.

The NAP chair by Kasper Salto

Posted: 19 Dec 2011 10:06 AM PST

Chairs are used to sit on but even the most comfortable chair can get really uncomfortable when you sit in it for a long time. And when you have to sit longer in the same position your body reacts and makes you move, thus adjusting and making you feel comfortable instead of aching for sitting still for too long. This is the idea behing The NAP chair by Kasper Salto. The designer, Kasper Salto, explains that the name of the chair – NAP is actually coming from the initials of the three key sitting positions; Normal, Active and Passive, which proves the fact that you move all the time you spend sitting in one chair.

The chair has nice curves which make it elegant and feminine and also add a plus of comfort to any of your sitting positions. The curved arm rests are included in the general and overall design of the chair and do not come as attachments. The legs are thin and stylish and the different colours available (Milk White, to Butter Yellow, Pepper Grey and Coffee Brown) make it pretty attractive to any person, be it young or old, modern or old-fashioned. The Danish designer did a great job with this chair and you can now have it for 440 EURO.

Spacious with vintage accents interior design apartment in Stockholm

Posted: 19 Dec 2011 10:04 AM PST

This lovely interior is in a beautiful corner apartment situated on Eric Hills, a region of Stockholm. The apartment is spacious and airy and it features a very inviting and elegant interior décor. Moreover, the large windows allow panoramic views of Runeberg and Eriksbergsgatan. The apartment has been recently restored but most of the original elements have been preserved or recreated, such as the arched windows, the parquet flooring, the wall panels, the double doors or the cozy fireplaces.

Even though it still looks very similar to its original design, the apartment now also has a modern look because most of the changes during the renovation process have been made using modern materials. So it's rather an eclectic apartment because even though it features many original elements the materials used to create them are modern. Still, the styles don't clash and the result is very pleasing and even unique.

Most of the walls and ceilings in the apartment have been painted white. This, together with the large arched windows form a very bright and airy atmosphere. The apartment includes a beautiful entrance hall, two large bathrooms with sandstone from Bali, a spacious and inviting living room with fireplace and a practical kitchen. The dining room is separated by sliding doors. The master bedroom is large, elegant but also cozy and inviting.{found on skeppsholmen}

4 ways to easily renovate your bathroom

Posted: 19 Dec 2011 08:34 AM PST

It's difficult to renovate the entire house at the same time both because of the financial issue and the fact that you would have to find another place to live during that period. So most people choose to renovate one room at the time. Today we're going to focus on the bathroom and we're going to show you four ways of easily renovating your bathroom based on Scott McGillivray's tips.

1. A warm décor.

Some people prefer to think of their bathroom as a cozy area where they can relax and be alone with their thoughts. For that a warm décor is advisable. And we're talking both figuratively and literally. For that you'll need electric towel racks, radiant floor-heating systems that are both cost-friendly and easy to install.

2. Functional storage cabinets.

In the bathroom it's absolutely necessary to have a series of functional storage units or cabinets. And since space is also always an issue, you could think of having a custom storage unit built into your wall that will solve the space issue and will also provide you with plenty of storage space.

3. Stylish vanities

A chic vanity is always a simple and easy way of making a bathroom stand out. The best thing about this is that there are options for every budget. Moreover, it will be both stylish and practical since it includes drawers and storage spaces.

4. Creative bathroom doors

Since most bathrooms are small, the doors tend to get in the way. That's why pocket doors or sliding doors would be a really great idea in this case. It will be both fun and stylish, not to mention space-saving.{pics from bhg}

Swarovski Crystals Toilet Design

Posted: 19 Dec 2011 06:44 AM PST

There are allways people born rich and there will allways be demand  in a certain niche for flashy  objects that are  highly expensive and still  meeting the same basic functions.I think that this particularly fashion trend started in the Saudi Arabia, a place in wich money are not measured by the number but by the kilo.They covered  for the first time expensive luxury cars in crystals and gold.Now the trend took over the entire world and more and more people with lots of money buy these objects.

Ginza Tanaka designed a toilet decorated with 72.000 Swarovski crystals for the just mentioned social class.This designer its not at his first creation of this type, a few years ago he  had given us the "world's most expensive Christmas tree" and other glided toys.This time he has gone for the Swarovki bling.Producing these hi-end toiletries was a bit challanging.Made over a period of one mounth  and costing around 128,390$ this special toilet seat is on display for those who are looking to attend the nature's call in a truly extravagant manner.

However, Gunza Tanaka struck the "blinging" chord for those who are up to date  with this style.I'm referring also  to the showbusiness area and I guess that  the Hip-Hop and other related areas are already placing orders.If you are in  mood of purchasing something really show piece for your bathroom there is also availiable the"Isis Swarowski seat" priced around 75,000 $ or  the "Swarovki My Carry Potty" for your kid's "bling pooping".{found on Telegraph}

Creative penthouse loft by Jorge Varela

Posted: 19 Dec 2011 02:10 AM PST

This stylish and modern penthouse apartment used to be an old attic. Thanks to the imagination of designed Jorge Varela, the attic got a beautiful transparent floor and was turned into a lovely home. The loft includes a large open space, a bright interior décor and also a beautiful terrace.

The living room, dining room and kitchen are all connected. This is basically a huge open space and the rooms are not separated by walls. This way visual communication is always possible. This area also includes a small studio. The rooms are unified by the materials and colors used throughout. It features solid oak flooring with a dark stained finish and white walls throughout the apartment.

The owner of this apartment didn't really like the way this place used to look so together with designer Jorge Varela he came up with a new plan, a new space, more suited to his lifestyle. The client had two main requests. He wanted all unnecessary walls to be removed and he also wanted to find a way to make this apartment lighter and brighter. The designer managed to achieve that by taking advantage of the large windows. And by using bright colors and materials. During the process, the attic was also turned into an open space that now includes the lounge area, the dining room, kitchen and an office space with access to the terrace.{found on micasarevista}
