Posted: 14 Aug 2011 11:18 AM PDT If you have a baby and it happens to buy many boxes of powder milk then you will notice that you can collect a lot of plastic spoons too. Each box has a plastic spoon, so imagine how many you can collect in a couple of months. If you are an inventive person who also loves recycling then you can think of a solution of reusing these plastic spoons for something else. It depends on your imagination and creativity. Here it is a nice idea. You may use some plastic spoons in order to create a funny DIY Sunburst Mirror. It can be made of about 105 colored plastic spoons. It is not too hard to make and besides spoons you need only an 18-inch round mirror and a hot-glue gun. The idea is simply to put a generous dot of glue on the back of the base of the handle of each spoon and press it onto the mirror. The bowl of each spoon should sit just outside the mirror's edge and the handle points toward the center. In the end you will see how proud of yourself you can be and what an ingenious work you could create. Everybody will appreciate your eco intention and creativity so that all the compliments will come to you!{found on countryliving} |
Chess Board Fleece Throw Blanket Posted: 14 Aug 2011 09:44 AM PDT Kids nowadays have a lot of opportunities to try different activities and sports both at school and also in kindergarten and this way discover what they like and what they are good at. This way they will know in the future what to do with their talents and do something to improve them. This is how my little girl discovered she liked chess very much. And ever since she started the chess lessons she became a fan of eeverything with a chessboard design. So here I am trying to find out a rug and a blanket looking like a chess board for her room. And this is what I found: the Chess Board Fleece Throw Blanket. This blanket looks very nice, exactly like a chess board, with black and white squares. Furthermore, you can see little black and white chess pieces designed against the background, so it’s pretty interesting. The blanket is very soft and nice to touch and it keeps you warm in winter or maybe you can place it on the sofa. It is made of 100% polyester Fleece and you can easily wash it in the washing machine. You can have it for $19.95. |
Posted: 14 Aug 2011 05:18 AM PDT Usually before you go to bed you feel the need to read something. So you turn on your lamp and choose your favorite book or magazine and your sleeping moment will get closer more quickly. Reading a book or any other material before you go to bed will prepare you better for sleeping and it is a free moment that you can use for your own reading pleasure. Here it a very nice DIY project that combines the idea of reading with that of light and sleeping.
It is a nice DIY Reading Light which was made of a hardcover book. The reading light is very nice and functional. It turns off when it is closed and gives off a variable amount of light depending on how far you open it, up to about a 40W light equivalent. It gives a nice warm, soft light so it can be easily used on your bedside table where you usually need a source of light for all sorts of things, especially reading. Although to make it you need to know how to do some basic soldering and some rudimentary wood cutting. And of course you have to be wiling to scalp a book or ready to give up a book that you do not like so much. The project was created by Grathio Labs. |
Versatile Mya chairs by Giovanni Baccolini Posted: 14 Aug 2011 12:20 AM PDT The Mya chair was designer by Giovanni Baccolini for Ares Line and the idea was to create a chair that would be fit for receptions and other public areas like waiting rooms and conference places. The chair had to be simple and neutral in terms of design and color and to also look modern. So Giovanni Baccolini has designed this chair that was named Mya. Mya is a very versatile piece of furniture as it can be used in a lot of different places and for all sort of purposes. It can make a nice office chair, a nice seat in malls and other public places, a bar stool in some cases and even a chair for places like bars and terraces. Its oval, even round shape makes it look modern and inviting. There's a little opening in the back for practical reasons.
The chair features a simple disc base made of stainless steel. There's also another version with stainless steel legs. This provides durability and security. The actual chair in which you're seating is covered in polyurethane. This is a very practical material because it's soft and comfortable and it also looks good. The Mya chair comes in four different colors: white, black, dark blue and a tone of red. This is a product that was meant to be practical and functional. It has a simple design that makes it stand out but not in an eye-catching way. |
Impressing Andulician Villa in Spain Posted: 13 Aug 2011 07:08 PM PDT Located in Spain, this luxurious building has been designed by London-based architects MaLean Quinlan and it features an impressive design both in terms of exterior and interior decoration. Probably the most impressive thing, at least at a first glimpse, is the size of this villa. It has seven bedrooms for family and guests which is more than most houses have. It’s always good to have some extra space for guests. The 7 bedrooms are located in three pavilions separated by pools of water, gardens and stone terraces. It must be very nice to be able to enjoy privacy in such a large mansion. Since the villa is located in an amazing place with spectacular landscape, it has been a challenge to create a design that would allow the users to have comfort and to also be able to enjoy the incredible views. Another requirement was to create a modern design, typical for the 21st century architecture.
The project has been a success. The villa definitely has an imposing design and is not likely to go unnoticed in that area. It’s not just the exterior that looks impressing but also the interior design that is both functional and very stylish. The elegance is visible is all the rooms of the house and the overall image is amazing. A lot of people might consider this villa as being their dream home. Unfortunately, for the majority it will remain a dream. |
How to Install Marble Tile Floor? Posted: 13 Aug 2011 03:57 PM PDT Marble tiles have been one of the most popular and leading choices since the ancient period. Whether it is construction of homes, offices, museums, malls, there is nothing that can beat marble tiles. Marble tiles feature their own distinctive look and impart the room with a mesmerizing finish. The only factor to be given optimum consideration in the involvement of marble tiles is their installation. The fact cannot be denied that installation of marble tiles is challenging enough. Green House Interior Design by Curtis Maddox Posted: 13 Aug 2011 11:15 AM PDT There are places that you like from the first moment you see, without knowing to say what exactly you like about them. It happened the same with the Kingston House when I first saw its pictures; it has that something that makes me like it, but I cannot say which is that something. What is certain is the fact that this house is what MOD Enterprise promotes: a retro charm and character and a modern design. It is the perfect example of the theory the architect Curtis Maddox applies and which says “Less is more”. The house is small, with an intimate and playful air given by the open space living, so appropriate for entertaining; the connection between the indoor and outdoor provides harmony. The renovation of the Kingston House, part of a Modest Post WW II Ranch Community, brought a new and fresh air for the entire environment.
The open floor plan, the wooden floors, the stainless steel appliances, the sliding glass doors, the modern walls and lighting are only some of the aspects that make the ranch a pleasant home where you can feel at ease. Nothing is truer, simplicity is the key word and every room in itself seems to exist in order to prove this theory. The shades of yellow of the walls, the green of the furniture and the splashes of red and blue make the entire space welcoming and inviting. It is definitely the kind of house where everybody feels cozy!Available for $125,000. |
