| Efficient garden solution: Whirligro Posted: 24 Jun 2011 08:54 AM PDT A lot of people chose to live in a house rather than in an apartment because it's a little more private, less busy and crowded. This means the garden is not a priority but it's still a nice bonus. So if you have a small garden there's no need to be blue. There's a way that allows you to exploit every inch of space. It's called Whirligro and it's a very ingenious solution. An apartment complex allows more people o live in a small area because of the vertical arrangement. The same principle is applies to this unusual structure created for small gardens. Whirligro is made of multiple tubes that are arranged in a spiral that goes around a central structure. Each tube can hold 3 plants and a single structure can be formed from 10 tubes.
This means that you'll have 30 plants in an area of 1m by 1m. Of course, this only applies for small plants like flowers and decorative pieces. If you plan on raising crops in your garden you should do it the old way because this new invention won't help you.Whirligro is a very ingenious creation. Your garden will not only be fuller but it will also look more beautiful and organized. The tubes come is several different colors so you can also create a nice contrast just by choosing different colors. |
| Practical Sophisticated and Minimal Sofa by Sule Koc Posted: 24 Jun 2011 07:56 AM PDT Summer working days have always proved to be more exhausted then the rest of other days from another season. Summer is the season of vacations and most of the people think of a relaxing beach and a nice cocktail then of an annoying office and a tiring boss. For those who are still go to work on this hot period a relaxing place may be even their own bed or sofa from their peaceful home. This was the designer's idea too, Sule Koc who created a Sophisticated and Minimal Sofa.
First when you see its design you may think it is not a comfortable piece of furniture. For the contrary this piece seems to be very useful and relaxing too. Its skeletal structure is a great support for the cushions that form the actual sofa and its underlying space can be a good place for storage or a wonderful resting place for your pets. Both edges of the sofa seem to be very practical. One edge has a flat surface where you can put different objects that you need to be close to you and the other edge is transformed into a great place for depositing your favorite magazines or books. Now all you can do is to take a sit on this wonderful sofa where you can find everything you need so that nothing can bother your relaxing moments. |
| Unusual sculptures by Janet Echelman Posted: 24 Jun 2011 07:24 AM PDT When you think of a sculpture you usually imagine something very robust, stable, rigid, usually made of stone but not necessarily. What Janet Echelman creates is nothing like that. Her sculptures are soft, colorful, vibrant and they seem to be alive.
These amazing forms of public art can be admired in Portugal, Phoenix, British Columbia, Madrid. They are truly impressive. So soft and delicate and yet so strong and powerful. They have a futuristic look, very artistic and mysterious. It must be very interesting to see how she actually makes these things. Even though the designer says these sculptures are permanent, I wonder how resistant they really are to forces of nature. However, when you see them in person you don't really care about anything else. |
| Posted: 24 Jun 2011 02:57 AM PDT A lot of people love and have jigsaw puzzles. They're fun the first time you solve them and then they just take space. As time passes, pieces start to get lost and there's really nothing you can do with the puzzle. Well…almost nothing. UK designer Rupert McKelvie has found a very ingenious and functional way of using old puzzles. The Missing Pieces coffee table is actually entirely covered with jigsaw puzzle pieces from puzzles with…missing pieces. Just because the puzzle is old and it can't be solved anymore it doesn't mean it can't be used for something else. However I can't imagine how annoying must have been to made this coffee table. As you can imagines, the coffee table is unique, not just because of the design but also because of the puzzle pieces and the way they're arranged. It's a great way of recycling useless pieces and turning them into something new and interesting.
This coffee table is not for everyone. It takes someone special to appreciate a piece like this. Even though I like the idea, I would have preferred a different coffee table, with a different design. If you also like the idea but dislike some elements or details, there's a way you can solve this problem: make your own design. I can't guarantee that it's going to look as good as this one, but you can try. |
| Contemporary WoodGloo table to set the mood in your home Posted: 24 Jun 2011 02:14 AM PDT The next item analyzed here has a curious name. It's called WoodGloo and it's a very unusual table. With a contemporary design and a very special feature, this table will instantly become the central point of attention once you decide to include it in your home. Besides the attractive simple design that would charm anyone, this table also has a surprise hidden inside. The LED lights from the inside of the table are what helps this unique piece glow into the darkness of the night. The light is visible through the wood veneer and the effect created is very beautiful and charming. Indeed, the latest creation of designer Juhász Mónika. Is going to be a success. What's beautiful about this piece is that the table looks beautiful either way. Even without knowing about the LED feature, the table still looks very attractive and stylish.
The dimensions of this impressive piece are 90x90x40 cm. It's a very versatile piece of furniture as it can be included for example in the living room, as a coffee table, even as a side table. It can also be placed in the bedroom as the LED features would create a very nice atmosphere. In fact, this table would look good just about anywhere you put it. The colors available for the LED feature come in a very large variety of different tones. |

| A Classical Mallorcan Villa Interior Desig Posted: 23 Jun 2011 09:00 PM PDT When you see the interior of this villa, you cannot avoid thinking about the image that you expect to see when you open a furniture catalogue. This villa in general and this living room in particular has everything you might think of when you imagine a living: a big modern sofa, a small but so necessary coffee table, parallel doors which go to a beautiful garden and to the yard and big glass windows, a TV in the wall, a cosy elegant armchair which invites you to sit and read a book or just relax enjoying the beautiful landscape in front of your eyes and all the details that make the difference between an ordinary room and a cosy one and tell you things about the personality of the owner: the flowers in the vase, the shape of the lamps, the curtains which have to match with the colours from the room.
It is the model of a modern villa and all the elements in it belong to the contemporary world and the materials they are made of are a successful combination of wood, marble, glass. Despite the impression of modernity everything around gives you, this villa has also a classical aspect that people are looking for, both young and mature, in order to feel good, to feel at ease.Forget to say that the entire interior design was made by Curve Interior Design. |
| Posted: 23 Jun 2011 08:14 PM PDT The Kube Hotel is located in Paris, in an antique building with a retro fitted modern facade. The entire building has the shape of the letter “U”. Upon the entrance there is a chic Ice Kube Bar with wide colorful doors and windows waiting for its visitors to step in. The furniture pieces and the entire design are inspired from a 1960 science fiction theme which charms peple’s eyes and makes them feel at ease. The entire hotel is above expectations and is definitely a nice combination between classical and modern styles, with its plush texture which pleases not only children, but also adults, with its levitating bed which definitely relaxes and makes your sleep more pleasant, with the wide windows which give the impression of more space, with all sorts of decorations, modern furniture pieces, in-room jacuzzi.
The rooms of the hotel have warm colors which make you feel comfortable and relaxed and enjoy your staying, while the Ice Kube Bar is very colourful, inviting people to enter, feel good and have fun. It is as if there were two different worlds in one place and each of them has its own way of relaxing people andmake them feel free to do whatever they want. |
