Located outsite of New York City, the Kowalewski Residence was designed for a family with two small children and having a good privacy he street façade is nearly blank, while the principal rooms all open onto the garden to the south.The house structure is made entire from steel,with light-gauge metal framed floors and walls and energy-efficient EIS envelope.I love the floating stairs which are made from steel and wood.{Belmont Freeman Architects}

Piano House in China

Sometimes the great things that appeared in the world were made possible only thanks to the enormous ego and power of some people that ruled a country or another. This is how pyramids appeared and the Taj Mahal and I am not sure that ordinary people really wanted them. Any way, sometimes this is a good thing while some other times the decisions seem simply crazy. Or how would you call the idea of building a house, a hotel in the shape of a piano and whose stairs look like a glass violin in the middle of nowhere. Because this building does exist and it is situated in the Huainan, Anhui province in China.

I love the design of the building, but how to attract tourists in a place where they have nothing else to see. And apparently this was the only reason for its construction: to bring as many tourists as possible in order to improve the local economy. Well, at least they have something unique and with an original design to be proud of.

Light Vintage Set from Moda Collection

My mother once told me that she had been born in the wrong century and she would rather have lived in the past, preferably at  some king or queen’s court back in the seventeenth or eighteenth century when they all were nobles and acted like ones and the palaces were nicely decorated with beautiful furniture and everything seemed exquisite. Well, I like that period, or at least what I imagine it was back then but I also enjoy all the facilities and comfort of the modern era. Somehow, the guys from Moda Collection from Italy succeed doing this and mixing these two styles together in their new collection of furniture called “Light Vintage”.

Even the title of the collection suggests the style of the sofas and chairs they designed and presented there. So the furniture is vintage, but the term “light” in front of it also suggests the modern features of this furniture, the fact that it takes the best in both styles and mixes them together in a very delightful result. The sofas and chairs have nice curves and intricate embroidery in wood and metal and they are all upholstered with rich fabric. The texture of the fabric and the floral patter and also the comfort offered by these sofas and chairs are all modern features and they make the one who uses them feel perfect. Actually all the furniture in this collection is perfect for a stylish and classy house, no matter what room you choose for it.

The Monster Chair by Jinyoung Choi

Do you like the scary stories?

Most of the people do. They find them interesting and they are usually preferred by children.

This is not a scary story but it looks like a scary piece of furniture. The hole looks like a monster's big mouth, ready to swallow everything that appears in front of it.

The short legs make you think of a little monster, maybe of an insect. The black colour also makes you think of an evil thing.But, it is an interesting piece of furniture and besides its practical use, as a place to seat it may also become a place to deposit things. For example, you may use it as a tiny table, with two places where you can put some books, magazines or the "mouth" of the monster may be an excellent bed for your favourite little pet, but we do not think of feeding the monster, do we?

It's a very practical chair that the designer Jinyoung Choi thought of "making two dimensional seat to weighty mass".
