Fluorescent Light Switch Patch

I am a very quiet person at night. I sleep deeply and I never wake up during the night. However, there are a lot of people who do that and wander around the house in the dark until they can find the light switch. We are not night birds to have night vision so it is pretty difficult to find anything in the dark. And this is how the joke with the pinky being the furniture detector appeared. So if you want to be able to find the light switch faster and without hesitation, without spending too much time in the dark, just spend about five bucks and you will be satisfied. You can purchase the fluorescent light switch patches. They are self adhesive patches that can be applied to the light switch and glow in the dark.

These are made of the exactly the same material as the fluorescent stars and Moon that you stick on the ceiling in the children’ s room. They all glow in the dark and when it is light they charge and they can repeat the cycle for many times until they need replacement. These glowing light switches will be a great attraction for kids, but make sure you warn them or any other visitors you may have or else they will be scared to death to see a strange “eye” staring at them in the night.

Scientists claim that life has appeared in the sea and more than two thirds of our planet is covered by sea and ocean. Well, this is exactly what inspired the designer Christian Vivanco when creating the Algae Lamp. He said that he found algae extremely interesting because they are actually plants that live under the sea and they are in continuous movement. They look like they are dancing and they are very nutritious and healthy at the same time. Because they have a wide variety of colors, this lamp is also available in many colors, as you can see from the pictures.

The pendant lamp is pretty original, as it has a fluorescent tube inside and it is covered by two separate acrylic layers, one of them colored and transparent at the same time and the outer one white and looking frosted. This lamp can be used in any room at your choice, as it casts a gentle light and you just need to purchase the right color to match with the rest of the room. If you watch these lamps from the distance you will actually see some resemblance with the seaweed both by shape and color, too. Shelves are not supposed to be made only for storing books. They can very well be used to give a room personality and style. If you use them properly they can be very important pieces of furniture. For example if the living room is large enough you can use the Eileen shelf for displaying different decorations in an artistic way and this will make your room look nice and having personality. This shelf looks like a wooden frame of a painting, but it is large enough to cover the space between the floor and the ceiling.

You can use only one such shelf or make a combination of two or three if the space allows it and you will be amazed how nice it looks after you have finished displaying the objects in it. The shelves are made of tapered glass, so there is no danger of getting hurt in case one of them breaks. And it also brings the effect of transparency, as the objects on the shelves seem to be floating in midair.

Through the looking glass -is a very good name for this product. It is perfectly disguised as a mirror with wooden frame, but it actually is a huge touch screen that can be operated with the touch of a finger. It is specially designed to make children interact with it and feel like Alice in Wonderland or when she traveled on the other side through the looking glass.  This “mirror” has a motion capturing software implemented and it records every moves of those touching it. This is the perfect opportunity for kids to literally walk into the story and alter it depending on their will. So when they watch a story on this over sized touch screen they can also use the software I mentioned above and interfere in the story. They can be the heroes and act as such, interacting with the characters and settings in the story.

So if you still can’t decide whether to use it as furniture or as a very sophisticated electronic device , you should be proud to have it and be able to use it. So have fun!

Aviator Wing Desk

If you are a guy and you have always loved airplanes even if now you may have a desk job, you will simply love this piece of furniture I am about to present. It is the desk that looks like a World War II bent airplane wing. It can be bought for about $1995 but it is a real work of art. It is pretty solid and has an interior framework made of wood and only after this is finished did they add the polished aluminum plates and bolted them with stainless steel visible screws. The mimic of a fighting airplane is great and the designer tries his best to combines this design with the utility of this table or desk, as you may want to use it.

The surface looks all patched and the visual effect is unbelievable. I am not sure if I want that because I need a desk to work at or because it is pleasant to look at and to feel, just like a sculpture. Also the three useful inside shelves that you can use for storage and the matching chair complete the image perfectly.
