| On-time wall clock from Fabrica Posted: 06 Dec 2010 11:10 AM PST People are so busy these days that they seem more to be running than simply walking and they are always in a hurry. They keep their eyes on their watches and mobile phones as if by doing so they will be able to make time stop, at least for a while. Well, we do know that this is not possible, but we still keep the eyes on the watch because we do not want to be late for an important meeting, for work, for school and even for a date. That is why most of us also have a big , nice looking and simple wall clock , usually on the hallway wall. It is very useful when you check the time on your way out, making sure you are not late.
Some people even use their clocks to “trick ” time, that is they set their clocks or watches a few minutes earlier to make sure they have enough time and , even if they panic, the real time will be enough for them to get in time to the meeting. That is the reason why the guys from Fabrica designed these nice-looking black and white wall clocks that help you be always on time. They do not have any special features or possess a little robot that does the chores for you, nor do they have a really loud alarm to freak you out. Actually they are very normal clocks with a particular feature coming from the smart design: the clock arm that is supposed to show the minutes is bent so as to show three minutes later that the time actually is, so you can panic as much as you want when you see the time on this clock and still be on time. |
| Round wooden garden swing from Amazonas Posted: 06 Dec 2010 10:50 AM PST If you have a garden or a patio and just a bit of land around the house, then you will certainly want to use it for a swing. It is so relaxing to stay there, swinging back and forth and enjoying the morning coffee or the afternoon tea, together with your loved ones, breathing the fresh air and thanking God for the peace and quiet of your home. And, of course, the material of choice for this kind of swing is wood. Wooden swings are better to use in gardens, as they are closer to nature and feel a lot warmer than the metal ones.
Normally garden swings have a rectangular form and they have support on either side. However, there are also some other unique and unusual swings that are a bit out of the ordinary and have a round or even oval shape. They are supported by a wooden curved support that comes somewhat from behind and the swing hangs from it. The frame is also made of wood and there are only a few curved boards that support it, so you have to use a soft cushion to make it more comfortable. The model of this swing can be single or double and it offers a comfortable support either way. Just take a break and enjoy a peaceful afternoon with your partner in this swing and all the problems will fade away. You can get more information and even purchase it from the Internet Gardener and Cocktail. |
| How to protect your laundry in the washing machine? Posted: 06 Dec 2010 09:11 AM PST Many people think that washing clothes is as simple as putting them in the washing machine, selecting the right program and waiting until it finishes. Well, basically this is true, but there are a few things you should consider when washing your laundry. For starters you should try to avoid keeping the wet laundry in your washing machine for more than a couple of hours. I know that sometimes you do not have enough time or enough space to deposit it, but remember that the wet and hot environment in the washing machine is perfect for bacteria and fungus to develop. So the longer you leave them inside, the more likely for them to be affected by this bacteria.
This leads us to the next tip: do not leave the washing machine lid closed after using it. This keeps humidity and germs inside and they will multiply there in the perfect environment for them. What you should do is leave the lid open after use so as to allow the interior of the washing machine to dry and keep it germ free. That is exactly why we should keep the interior very clean and disinfect it from time to time in order to make sure all the germs and bacteria is killed and hence it is not possible to be transmitted to the wet clothes. So specialists recommend you that every once in a while to start a washing program without any clothes inside, but you should fix the temperature at the maximum and also use some bleach in the special drawer, even if the washing machine is empty. That is done with the purpose of cleaning it. One last tip is to always select your underwear and wash it at very high temperatures as this part of your body is more sensitive than the others and can be easily affected by the germs in the laundry. And you’d better do the same thing with the towels. |

| Posted: 05 Dec 2010 02:33 PM PST Bedbugs have been associated with humans since early history. Bedbugs are simply a nightmare as they love dining on human's blood. Generally, their dining hours are just before the dawn time, so probably you will find infestations in the areas where you and your family sleep. Bed bugs are common in hotels, motels and inn, but they can also be found in homes if cleanliness is not ensured. Today, most of the people do not know about them and how to identify them. Identification of bedbugs is very important as the infestations grow at a rapid pace. Moreover, since these bugs do not resemble other insects, a close inspection is necessary. Most of the time, you will not even realize that there bedbugs on your bed, unless you have been bitten, or you notice blood stains on your sheets from crushed bugs, but there are few things you can do to identify them. 1) First of all, you need to know what Bedbugs are, and what their habits to recognize them and control them. Bed bugs are nothing but blood sucking insects that hide in crevices and crack during the day and come out to feed during night time.
2) Bed bugs are small and just one fourth inches in length, ovate in shape and are flat like a pancake, usually red or amber in color, and are wingless. 3) Look for eggs of bed bugs. Bedbug eggs may be found along the sides and joints of the mattress. Bedbug eggs are white in color and pin sized and glued on the mattress or other parts as the eggs are sticky and gluey when laid by the female bedbugs. Since bedbugs eggs are tiny, use a flashlight and magnifying glass when you are looking for them. Immature bedbugs are light yellow in color. 4) Look for signs of bedbugs. Bedbugs are known to leave spots behind. Red blood smears, pale colored spots, brown spots and fecal spots may be found on the bed sheets, head board, bed frame, and even inside the mattress. 5) The bite marks caused by bed bugs will be red, itchy, burns and may look like a small welt, and the common location would be around the stomach area. 6) Bed bugs, generally do not give off any distinct odor, but in some cases, they may give off an odor similar to coriander. |
