London architect, Engle, has unveiled to the public the first images of the mixed use scheme, which is set to transform Harlow Town Centre. The 1.3 million sq ft project, which seeks to regenerate Britain's first pedestrian precinct, originally masterplanned by Sir Frederick Gibberd in 1947, was selected in 2008 in a heavily contested competition. Engle's masterplan, including over 500,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space with a new department store and food hall, new leisure quarter including a multiplex cinema, cafe's and restaurants will be presented at the Public Exhibition, taking place from Thursday 9th to Sunday 12th July. The Development Team – a partnership between Harlow Council, the developer, Stockland, and Harlow Renaissance – is asking people to come along to view the proposals and to have their say about the scheme. |
