The Big Day is here! Our Freecycle Group is now live on the Freecycle.org website!
You are now able to view postings on the new website, as well as post OFFERs and WANTEDs. The Yahoo Group is now closed for posting.
What does this mean for you?
The new site has a message maker capability that will allow you to post to the group easier and allows less room for error. This allows more posts to go through to the group without being rejected or edited.
What do you need to do?
To Join My Freecycle (The global Freecycle site)
Go to http://my.freecycle.org and click on the sign up form link in the center of the page.
On the next page, enter the User ID of your choice, if you belong to other Yahoo Freecycle groups, it is best to use your regular Yahoo User ID for clarity sake on My Freecycle so that you are one in the same on the Yahoo Platform or the Freecycle Platform.
Enter a valid email address on the next line
Choose a password that you can easily remember
Confirm the password that you have chosen
Type the two re-captcha words
Tick the Terms of Service box on the right
Click the green Sign Up button at center bottom.
To Join your local Group (Your little corner)
Click the 'My Groups' Tab, type in the name of the group you wish to join. Click on 'Find Group'.
When the groupname appears, click on 'Join this group' on the far right.
If the group is set to approve new members you will not be automatically added until the Moderators approve you. Once you are added to the group, it will appear in the drop-down list under the 'My Groups' link at the top right.
