we have more useful field stones -- rocks in several sizes
Why buy any when you can get natural stones gratis?
1. larger than 8" wide, we have a number of these rocks, different shapes and colors -- great for making a border around your flower / veggie bed
2. fist size: also good for making borders
3. maybe 3" - 5" big
4. smaller, more like gravel size
both these sizes are great to make a natural stream bed, or put around your water feature in your yard, or to cover an area where you take out your lawn.
if your city permits you to have a gravel parking space, these sized rocks can fill in any holes or cover the area with new natural gravel
if you have native California plants, these sizes are great for putting around the base of the plant as natural mulch. Regular mulch may give too many nutriments to native Calif. plants, so people often use smaller rocks to keep moisture in and keep weeds down
The rock sizes 2 - 3 - 4 are in containers, many of them in gallon milk cartons or in black 2 qt. pots, so they are fairly easy to load into your vehicle if you want to do that.
