Top 6 Tips To Help You Sell Your Home

Posted: 08 Aug 2012 10:50 AM PDT

If and when you decide to sell your home, you should make it desirable to buyers and you should try to bring out the most beautiful features that it has. It would help if you could detach yourself from your home and look at it as a potential buyer. Figure out what you would and what you wouldn't like to see and start from there. These tips might help.

1. De-personalize your home.

When someone comes to see a house that could potential become their new home they don't want to see any of your family pictures and personal items. They just want to see the potential that the house has because they're going to redecorate it anyway and bring their own personal items with them.

2. Clean up.

Your house needs to be as clean as possible. It shows potential buyers that you care about it and take maintenance seriously. Nobody wants to buy a house that's been treated badly. Even if it has great potential, the fact that it looks messy will make it look unappealing and a house that's equally good or less beautiful than yours might gain priority because of this small detail.

3. Clean out the garage.

A potential buyer cares about the entire property, not just the living room, bedrooms and kitchen. These persons also want to know that the house has plenty of storage space. If your garage is filled with all sorts of items and unused pieces than it might not only appear to be smaller but it will show them that there's not enough storage space. If it's not enough for you than it might not be enough for them and this can be a big problem.

4. Don't exaggerate with the upgrades.

Of course, before you put your house on the market, you might want to make some upgrades. However, you should not exaggerate. This might intimidate the buyers and make them think your house is out of their budget. You should just focus on making the house look good. It doesn't have to look as new because it obviously isn't and nobody expects it to be.

5. Set a realistic price.

The potential buyers might be in love with your house but if the price is not reasonable then they will have to give up their dream home and find something else. It's important to set a realistic price for the house. Don't ruin everything by pricing your home too high. You might end up with no buyers at all and your plans will suffer.

6. Call your mortgage broker.

Selling your home is not everything you have to do. You'll probably want to find a new home so make sure you can afford the one you like and that it's not out of your reach.Selling your home and finding out you have nowhere to go is the worst thing that could happen and it shouldn't be an option.

Amara Storage Tower For Wine Lovers

Posted: 08 Aug 2012 09:40 AM PDT

Wine is very well known around the world as a thing of finesse and very collectable. People drink wine with any occasion now and not many can really appreciate it at its full potential. Some just drink it because they get a kick out of I, for them it doesn't really matter what year it is and from what kind of grapes it was made. Now, let's forget about that category and focus on the connoisseurs or at least on the ones who understand wine and like to consume it with a good dinner or like to share a glass of wine with their friends and spend quality time.

Obviously if you like wine, you buy wine, is simple so far but where do you keep it? Buying a glass or two from the supermarket from time to time doesn't qualify you as a wine lover. You have to be prepared with more than 3 types of wine from various producers across the world. Not to mention that special occasions need special treats, therefore some good bottles of wine should always be in your "collection".

To look like a genuine wine lover you need this. It's a wine tower with a nice distinctive vintage look made from a salvaged card found in an old shoe factory. It costs 562 Euros and can hold up to 24 bottles, set on locking casters and with the base that holds bar towels, foils cutters, corkscrews and so on this will look great in your living room and then you can call yourself a small wine "connoisseur".Available for 562 euros.

Contemporary Krakow apartment by Morpho Studio

Posted: 08 Aug 2012 08:18 AM PDT

This stylish apartment is located in Krakow, Poland and it's filed with eye-catching details. The apartment's interior was designed by Morpho Studio. With a total floor area of 65 square meters, the apartment occupies two levels. The first level is a day zone it's a space designed to be used for and by guests. The second level is a more private zone and it was intended mainly for the owners.

The owners of this chic apartment are a couple in their twenties. They are medicine students and they are also animal lovers. The second aspect is reflected in the interior design as well. They opted for a contemporary interior with details that reflect their passions. It's how the animal motifs can be explained. Notice the ostrich wall console, the rabbit lamp, the bird nest ceiling lamp and, of course, the most impressive of all, the rat graphic from the wall. This one was hand painted and represents a stylized representation of the animal. There's also a cat graphic in the bathroom.

Overall, the style for the apartment is austere. The décor is minimalist and the color palette is very restraint. In fact, we could say that this is a monochromatic interior with very few exceptions in the form of accent pieces such as the yellow chair, the green chair and the pendant lamp. These are strong focal points that complement the minimalist interior that features only shades of white, black and grey.

Offi Nester Stacking Boxes

Posted: 08 Aug 2012 07:30 AM PDT

A famous TV commercial I saw a few years ago said there was also life after leaving the office. Well, I would not be so sure about it. We have our problems at work and most of the times we have to carry them with us at home. So we have our own corner or small place in the house where we work – a sort of home office. And the best furniture to purchase for this office or for your city office is something where you can store all your papers. Something like these beautiful and handy Offi Nester Stacking Boxes. They can be nested inside each other until you have only one big box with many smaller ones inside. They are easier to store this way and will save you a lot of space.

But when you do have something to put in them, they prove priceless. They are actually wooden cubes of different sizes, perfect for storing smaller or bigger office items or files. The boxes are simple in design and are crafted in molded ply. You can use them as bookshelves, storing boxes or even side tables, depending on your needs. They sell in sets of four and you get to choose the colour from birch or walnut veneer. The price for such a set is between $449 and $499.

The Drawbridge Shelf – a very useful object for your home

Posted: 08 Aug 2012 06:55 AM PDT

All my childhood I’ve been inspired by my mother’s way to find place for all the things of our crowded house. She used to make shelves all around the place to place her books or her flowers. When I saw this object it reminded me of her.  The Drawbridge Shelf is not only a very useful object for your home is also a very creative and easy to make piece of furniture that gives your home a vintage look. It takes little place and little time to make it and it gives you the satisfaction of doing it yourself.  The designer first made it from an old rolling cart, a sign post and a massive gauge wire.

As you can see in the picture, the low wood piece on which you put the objects that you want is supported by the wire at the end of which there are two small screws. But, the most important part is the piece of wood attached to the wall that supports all the weight. Being a handmade product, the wood pieces are carved and shaped by hand and sealed with a low gloss Tung oil.

The dimensions are: 23 inches long, 14 ¾ inches wide, and 14 ½ inches tall. The best part is that, if you buy it, you can discuss with the designer the way you want the product to look like, the sizes as well as the materials you would prefer. The price of this awesome product is only $189,00 USD.

6 Tips To Using Coral In The Kitchen

Posted: 08 Aug 2012 06:05 AM PDT

Coral is fresh, modern, feminine, bright and spunky. It’s a color that’s meant to feel playful and clean. And using it as the main source of color in the kitchen, puts you on the fast track to a super stylish and cheerful space. Today we’re here to give your a few ideas on how to put that fierce shade to work in your own kitchen. Sit back, relax, grab some coffee and enjoy our 6 tips and tricks to using coral in the kitchen! It’ll help springboard some ideas and help you decide what path to take!

1. Pair it with some woods.

Bright coral colors set off any shade of brown, which is why it’s the perfect pairing for wood cabinet and finished. The orange tones in coral compliment the grains of any wood surface and make the pretty color pop.

2. Pair it with whites.

If you want a more delicate look try pairing your corals with creamy shades of white and taupe. It tones down the drama of contrasting browns and coral and gives a lighter look and feel to the room. It’s also much brighter, open up your windows for some natural light and you’ll have a definite happy, playful space to bake some cookies in!

3. Mix with other fun colors.

Coral goes well with a variety of blues and greens. Try adding a bit of aqua to them mix to make your space even more cheerful and fun. Use stainless steel appliances to balance out the excess color as well.

4. Use it in the details only.

Instead of using coral as the main source of wall paint, just use it as the bright-spot detailing. Coral knobs, coral chairs, coral towels … it’ll act as the focal point for your kitchen without overwhelming the entire space with it’s orangey-pink hues.

5. Modernize it.

Coral is a great color to use in very sleek, chic modern kitchen. It’s very crisp and adds to the clean lines of a contemporary kitchen. It’ll be the stylish part of the space but won’t take away from the minimalistic theme.

6. Try deeper shades.

Coral comes in a variety of shades, so use it to your advantage. If you don’t want something overly feminine, add some masculinity by pairing woods with a deeper shade of coral that has more red to it. It does the same in complimenting but doesn’t scream girlish charm.

Sue Wright Mirror

Posted: 08 Aug 2012 05:27 AM PDT

Berries are good and tasty and people like them. They love their taste and also the way they look. So why not use them as a source of inspiration for the design of a mirror? Well, this beautiful Sue Wright Mirror is inspired by those tiny and colourful wild berries and they are used here as decoration for the frame of a mirror. The mirror looks great with this design and this is actually what makes it so appealing in the first place. Without them it would be nothing more than another boring round mirror.

This round mirror does look like the sunburst mirror that I like so much, but it is a bit more different and closer to nature, just the way I prefer it to be. The mirror is delicate and nice and also hand crafted by very skillful artisans in Mexico. Each mirror is unique, as it is hand made, so it has its particular feature and colour. You can choose from a variety of colours and also order it online for $700.You will make it the special accessory that will bring style to your living room. Merry and playful, the mirror is perfect for decorating a modern home, especially if you are a woman.

The perfect home for a young family

Posted: 08 Aug 2012 03:08 AM PDT

This house is like an exposition. You can see through the wide windows the perfect placed furniture. In fact, the non-covered glass doors let you see the dining-room like you’re watching a TV show. But, that’s not a problem for the owners, because the big fence covers it totally. The architects of Isay Weinfild designed this awesome house in the Brazilian city, São Paulo, in 2009, for a young couple and their daughter. So, the luxurious home looks just like a doll house from above and her very interesting architecture makes you love it the first time you see it.

The coolest thing is that from the house you can immediately take a step and arrive onto the always green garden. In fact, the trees are a very important object in the house’s design. And, even if the garden and the usual rooms cover a big part of the place, it still remains place for a gym room and a swimming pool.

The big glass doors that slide widely open onto the garden, so the dining room becomes a terrace by day and a part of the house by night. In fact, the entire architecture is based on the perfect match between the outdoor spaces and the indoor ones. That`s because the house uses a lot the natural light and ventilation that keeps a cool temperature and still a pleasant green view.

The private parts of the house are assured by the second and the third floors which host three bedrooms and a family room and the basement has the garage, the mechanical room, the laundry room and some facilities for employees. Don`t forget about the outdoor gym and the swimming pool. What a lovely place to raise a child.{found on archdaily and pics by Leonardo}.
