| Posted: 28 Aug 2012 11:09 AM PDT I hate big coat hangers with a lot of hooks and many coats hanging from them. I feel suffocated and I feel the need to throw them all away and only leave one. That is why I think it is better for us to have a minimum of everything, the best amount for us, but not too much. Because too much is too much whatever you talk about. Any way, if there are only two people in the house, two hooks should be OK, if you need a hanger for your office, then only one is plenty. This is exactly what I love about this Minimalist City Wall Hook. You can use only one or purchase many and also match them to colour and gender.
This modern coat rack is individual and has a steel round base and an aluminum hook. It is made by hand in a workshop in Portland and is also available in four colours: industrial yellow, factory white, machine grey and black. You can purchase more than one item and arrange them in a different manner for example in a row or to make a square, depending on the space available or inspiration. The design is simple, even minimalist, but the effect is amazing. The item can be bought from Schoolhouse electric for $40. | The Sunny Wentworth Rd House in Sydney Posted: 28 Aug 2012 10:28 AM PDT The Wentworth Rd House is located in Vaucluse, Sydney, Australia and it's a building with a contemporary and quite complex design. The residence was designed by Edward Szewczyk Architects in collaboration with structural engineer D'Ambrosio Consulting and completed in 2012. The orientation and location of the site allowed the architects to take full advantage of the views.
The house sits on the sunny side of the street from where it also allows its inhabitants to admire the panoramic views of Sydney Harbour. The residence was organized on three levels with an additional roof terrace that provides dramatic views of the surroundings. The design and structure of the building are unusual for that area. Some of the distinct elements that allow it to stand out in comparison with the other residences include a part of the outdoor functions that are either in the street frontage or above the street.
Another unusual detail is the fact that the ground floor is partially suspended. The property also has a beautiful rear garden dominated by an old gum tree. The main living area situated on the ground floor was strategically placed where it could benefit from these elements. It has both views of the harbor and views of the garden. The ground level is almost entirely transparent while the other two levels provide more intimate spaces. . The owner is designer Casey Fisher who is also a retail space stylish. The company designs furniture for all tastes and they have many beautiful creations. One of them is this charming Peacock Chair. The Peacock chair is designed exclusively by Haute House. It has a beautiful design and a somewhat traditional look.
The chair features an alder frame that is entirely hidden by the upholstery. The feet are the only ones that are visible. They are sleek and relatively tall and are also made of wood, featuring a dark finish. The overall dimensions of the Peacock Chair are 28″W x 27″D x 33″T. It's a classical piece of furniture, a beautiful addition to most living rooms.
The detail that distinguishes the chair from all other similar pieces and the one that also gave its name is the beautiful detailing from the back and the sides of the chair. The colors used for the pattern are consistent with the one of the upholstery but also include shades of red and yellow that make the design stand out. It's an interesting variation on the traditional armchair and it's a piece of furniture that is beautiful from all angles. | DIY twine-wrapped pencil holder Posted: 28 Aug 2012 08:00 AM PDT Every desk needs a pencil holder. Even if you only have one or two pens Even if you only have one or two pens Even if you only have one or two pens Even if you only have one or two pens Even if you only have one or two pens or pencils you still need something to store them into so that you don't have to always search for them in the drawer. So why not personalize your desk by making your own pencil holder?
Here's how you can make a twine-wrapped pencil holder. First you'll need a few supplies. You should have some glue that dries fast and that's also strong, a paint brush or a sponge, about 7 meters of twine if you have a containers that has the same dimensions as the one in the example, acrylic paint in the color of your choice, a cylindrical container, paper and sticky tape. First you need to apply some glue at the base of the container and stick the end of the twine to it. Wait a little for the glue to dry and then wrap the twine around the container.
Continue to apply glue t the container and to wrap the twine around it using the same technique. You should wrap the whole container in twine or only a portion, leaving a strip untouched. If you decide to leave a portion unwrapped then you should cover that section with a piece of paper. Next, start painting. Apply as many coats as you feel it's necessary. Remove the piece of paper and let it dry.{found on craftedblog}. | Posted: 28 Aug 2012 05:23 AM PDT A bookcase, unless it has a really wacky design, will always look somewhat sober and austere. One way of changing that is to use bookends that stand out with their color, shape or design. This one, for example, is both simple and eye-catching. It's a bookend that also serves as an interesting decoration for your bookcase, shelf, etc.The bookend stands out with its vivid color.
It features a bold yellow shade that would provide an interesting focal point. But the color is not this product's only eye-catching feature. The bookend is also original because of its design. It features stenciled typography that spells "the end". It's a very inspired choice of words, given the main function the bookend needs to fulfill. This, in combination with the vivid color, allows it to be surprisingly unusual. So even though it has a simple design, it's the small details and the choice of color that make it unique.
The stenciled typography is laser-cut. The bookend is made of MDF and it gives it weight necessary to fulfill its function. As for the dimensions, it measures 8.5″Wx2.5″Dx6″H. It has a pollen yellow finish and it would look beautiful in most modern decors. It can be used in bookcases, on shelves or anywhere else you keep your books. Wherever the books are, that's where it needs to be as well.Available for 12 euros. | Posted: 28 Aug 2012 05:17 AM PDT There are a few man-made places on earth build only for the international "elite". Nobody has nothing to comment if a simple guy like me asks for the best suite in a very expensive hotel in Dubai, they don’t even remember my name or my face, the only thing is to afford it, and that my friend is serious business.Let me show you that rich people have the same typology and the same mind and habits since this world exists.
Starting with the Pharaohs in Egypt and kings from Europe, continuing through the 19th century until nowadays rich people it was a general manifestation of power. They build luxuriant castles because they could, they dressed only the best clothes because they could. The public manifestation of power and well being fuels their image. It’s like a powerful marketing campaign. Believe me, a $10 pare of pants will keep you as worm as a $500 pare, the only thing that differentiate the two pares is the name, and the your association with a certain name, or making your name world wide known costs a lot of money.
Now, let’s talk about Las Vegas keeping the words from the above in mine. In Vegas people come to show off, in any way you can imagine. The fact that Prince Harry stayed at the most expensive suite in one of the most expensive hotels on earth is not surprising at all. The two story, three-master-bedroom duplex with bar, billiard room, spa, gym, butler and dedicated elevator reinforced the prince image as a powerful man with a heavy name.
It is useless if I try to describe you the suite. So, I am going to invite you to watch the photo gallery and see for yourself what it means to be among the elite, and most of all how does it fee to be treated like royalty even if you are from Detroit. Enjoy!{found on dailymail}. Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Las Vegas Encore Wynn Suite |
| 10 Duplex Interior Designs With A Swedish Touch Posted: 28 Aug 2012 02:05 AM PDT Swedish interiors are famous for their simplicity and elegance. They manage to achieve greatness with very few elements. The color palette includes a lot of white and strong contrast but without mixing too many colors, textures of patterns. Still, the result is a cozy and inviting interior with an airy look and a sense of style that is difficult to reproduce. We have selected today a series of duplex interior designs that feature these characteristic and we hope you'll enjoy them and use them as inspiration for your own projects. 1.New student apartment in a 1800s building.
This is a duplex reserved for students. In order to be able to buy it you must prove that you are a student and you must have € 260,000. It's easy to do the first part but it's the second that poses a problem.
Anyway, it's obvious that this duplex has a very stylish interior. It's very airy and, even though it's very simple and monochromatic, it's also cozy and inviting. The large windows let in plenty of natural light and, as for the upper floor, it's a great place for a bedroom. The exposed wooden beams are a very nice detail that really help make the atmosphere inviting. 2.Modern and cozy duplex.
This one is a little more colorful. It's a duplex that features a modern interior design and has many interesting details that deserve to be admired. The color palette is also restraint and yet the pink accents really make a difference in the kitchen. A very beautiful detail is that sheltered workspace placed in the corner of the living room. It's small but it's away from the busy area and has a very soothing and stylish wallpaper on the wall adjacent to the desk. Then there's also that small carpet that looks just like the grass from the wallpaper. 3.Duplex decorated with wood and white.
In this duplex the main elements and the two contrasting parts are the white walls and the wooden surfaces. They interact nicely and naturally and they create a beautiful color and textural contrast. The white walls and ceilings tend to create a cold atmosphere but the wood surfaces add warmth to the décor and create a very nice balance of powers. It's nice that there aren't any other colors involved in the décor. This creates a sense of continuity. It's also an interesting choice for a modern interior design that is usually bold and dynamic. It's a beautiful direction to follow. 4.Similar duplex.
Here we have a duplex that is similar to the one presented before. We're speaking, of course about the color palette and the way the wood elements interact with the white décor. However, this one tends to be a little more luxurious. The whole décor is very light and airy. In this case the cozyness comes from elements such as that beautiful fireplace and the exposed wooden beams. It's a spacious duplex with a functionally-structured interior and large windows throughout complemented by stylish skylights on the upper floor. The angled ceiling basically dictated the arrangement of the rooms. The bedrooms just had to be placed on that level. 5.64 square meters duplex.
This is a small duplex with bold touches of color. It measures only 64 square meters and yet it seems surprisingly spacious. It's because of the minimalist interior design and the lack of unnecessary furniture and decorations. The color palette is limited like in the case of any Swedish-inspired décor but in this case we also have bright splashes of color in the form of a bold orange rug and matching pillows. In fact, each room has at least one small colorful element that stands out as a focal point. It's bold enough to stand out but subtle enough to maintain the simplicity of the whole décor. 6.Black and white duplex interior design.
This is also a bold duplex but in this case the lack of vivid colors is very obvious. Most of the décor is black and white. It's a classical combination of colors, a timeless mix that will always be elegant and it's also a mix that goes perfectly with this type of decors. The simplicity of the interior design however doesn't result in monotony. The duplex compensated for that with bold patterns and textures. Some rooms even have subtle hints of color such as that blue vintage cabinet from the kitchen/dining room or those pale pink pillows from the bedroom. 7.Another simple duplex we love.
This is an attic duplex with an interior a little more complex that the ones we've seen so far. Also, this one has something that all the other ones were lacking, a beautiful terrace and a strong connection with the outdoors. As in most cases, an attic apartment means more light, better ventilation and an outdoor space with expansive views of the city. In this case the terrace and the windows provide views of the rooftops of the other building and the city beyond them. The interior features a Nordic style with a limited color palette but a surprisingly complex décor. 8.Bright duplex.
As you already know, a Nordic interior is always bright. It's one of the elements that distinguish it from other styles, among other elements. This duplex is definitely bright. Of course, the high ceilings and white walls also contribute to the impression of a larger and more airy space. The light-colored wooden floors complement the décor nicely and add warmth without creating an intense color contrast. The interior design is modern and black furniture is used as focal points for the décor. The duplex is also very airy and that's because most of the rooms are open spaces. 9.Stylish and modern duplex.
This is a great example of a stylish interior design and it just so happens to also be Nordic. It's very elegant and features many eye-catching details. For example, it's interesting that there seem to be two distinct color palettes used for this décor. One includes black and white combinations and the other one tones of blue, purple, red and pink. It's like there are two separated sides of the diplex. One is more formal and decorated with neutral colors and one is cozy and more colorful. It's a delimitation created according to the functions of the rooms and the two orientations are seamlessly combined. 10.Last Nordic duplex.
Our last pick is a classical Nordic interior. It's a duplex from Stockholm, like many of the other presented above and has an interior where the attention to detail immediately stand out. In there, nothing has been overlooked. The duplex is very well organized, neat and well balanced. The distribution of the rooms however seems a little odd. The first floor contains the living room and two bedrooms while the kitchen is located on the top floor. There's also a beautiful roof terrace. The interior design is very stylish and the accent pieces are really beautiful. The same goes for all the decorations.Which one you Like??{pictures from:Valvet,1 Kin Design, and Skeppsholmen}.
