In Greek mythology sirens were those creatures that are nowadays called mermaids who sang and enchanted sailors who jumped in the water when they heard their song. I don’t know who or what inspired the name of this pendant lamp, but I do know it is a modern and cool lighting device that can add some youth and style to your home. This Siren Pendant is red and pretty big, so it will stand out from the crowd, being the one object you remember after visiting a house for the first time.

The pendant lamp has an industrial and interesting design, with an iron shade in red powdercoat shining brightly from the ceiling. The aluminum canopy, diffuser ring and 3 brass diffuser clips in antiqued zinc finish are the most important parts of the lamp and the ones giving it personality. When you first see the size of this lamp you wonder if the light coming from it will not be too powerful, but the lamp ends with a frosted glass diffuser which filters the light properly and spreads a sweet and gentle light. Well, the charm and personality reside in the little details that only emphasize the natural beauty and the chic style. The minimalist Big Boss Desk by Piergil Fourquie

This sleek but simple piece of furniture is called the Big Boss Desk and it was designed by Piergil Fourquie. It has a design inspired from architectural constructions based on the cantilever principle and it transforms and uses those concepts in a whole new way. This beautiful desk might not look very imposing but it surely deserves its name.

The desk has a very simple and delicate design with curvilinear elements and sleek details. However, it is also a strong, durable and stable piece of furniture. The lacquered metal skirt gives it stability and it's also a solid volume that supports the entire structure. It was designed in a very stylish manner and it manages to provide all those benefits without actually having a bulky look. The rest of the desk is made of light oak which creates a subtle but nice contrast with the metal area.

The suspended top is well kept in place and it gives the user freedom in movement while also contributing to an overall chic look. The metal part hides the user's legs and supports the top. It's coated with leather on the interior and this creates a warm and casual but also elegant look. On the either side, the desk features two sleek legs. The desk also has a clever design that hides all the cables and electrical wires. It also includes practical storage space inside the drawer.

When you choose furniture for your garden or patio – I mean for outdoors you must always be careful about the material used for making that particular furniture. It is better to choose rattan, plastic or even stainless steel furniture for outdoors because this way it will be hard to deteriorate in different kinds of weather like strong sunlight or rain. Orion Porcelain Plate Set

Our modern life style is a total chaos: we eat and sleep on the run, so I can say we live on the run, always hurrying somewhere. Hence the health problems with our stomach and digestive system. Well, if you come to think of it, grandma was absolutely right when she insisted so much for us to have at least dinner together as a family. That happened in the dining room and all the members of our family were there, eating from the “good” dinnerware in a very cozy and calm atmosphere. I still try to do this at home now, but I only succeed for Sunday meals. Any way, I think porcelain plates make dinner a lot more festive than the carton plates at the fast food restaurants. Here is a wonderful Orion Porcelain Plate Set that is old, but very well preserved and looking amazing.

Tube Top Table Lamp

I am not a very organized person and i also work at home where my two kids revolve around my desk all day long, so you can imagine that there are a lot of things piling up on my desk every day. That is precisely why I prefer keeping only the essentials on it and also keeping everything as simple as possible. So it is only natural to just love this Tube Top Table Lamp that is so simple and neat in design and which also looks great. It is pretty small, but perfect for a table, a desk or even a side table, so it will not disturb the relative order on my desk.

First of all the lamp is very modern looking and easy to place anywhere. LimbIC Ergonomial Intelligent Chair

What a funny thing to stumble across this chair. A friend of mine just graduated medicine school and he's specialized in body recoveries. After you're had an accident and you have difficulties walking, standing, or you maybe you have muscle dystrophy or so on, he's your guy. A few days ago I visited his new work place in a hospital nearby. Guess what? A device similar to this chair from his cabinet was meant to measure something about balance, motion coordination or something like that.

Now, as I read about this chair, the producer says that this thing is a scientific combination between ergonomics and neuroscience so there might actually be some truth in this crazy design. It is suppose to stimulate the emotional process of seating in the brain and to connect you raw energy, focusing the creativity.

The structure of this chair resembles a normal office chair in the first part, starting from the base up but then, everything changes.The two fully movable seating shells are fabricated upon our body physics to provide maximum movement and "a balanced state of mind". You can also dance, move, stretch, relax and eliminate back pains. I don't know exactly what the producers thought but if I wanted to dance, stretch, move etc I would have gone to the disco or at the gym and for way more less than $8,500. I don't even want to think about looking like that lady in front of important people in the conference room.

The perfect style nursery for that new bundle of joy …. may be …. Victorian! If you’ve screamed “it’s a girl,” then you need to treat your little princess like the princess she is. Victorian-styled nurseries are fun to decorate and fun to think about! And there is so, so much you can do with the theme!

Victorian-styled nurseries can be frilly, grandiose and extremely stimulating to your baby girl’s eyes, which is a plus of course! Ruffles, sparkles, golds and creams, swirls and lush flowers …. it’s all part of the old-age era. Take a trip back in time to create something magical for your little one! They’re elegant and pretty, extravagant and cultured … but most importantly … mom and dad get to have fun putting it all together!

1. Decide on a color scheme!

First things first, pick your colors. The most popular color for a Victorian nursery would have to be all shades of pink (minus fuchsias, mangentas or any deep pinks)… blush pink … powdered pink … bubblegum pink …. it doesn’t matter because pink works! Golds, ivories and creams work well also. But in reality, you can build your theme around any color. So if you’d like to have like baby blues, lilacs, golden yellows or soft mints, go for it! 2. Dressers, cribs, rocking chairs … and more! Pick the right furniture!

This is where your shopping talents come in handy. Obviously first and foremost, be concerned about your baby’s safety and get a crib that goes by all regulations. But in terms of a rocking chair and dresser you can find some great, almost-authentic looking pieces by thrifting! Make sure your furniture has a hint of that vintage feeling so it helps complete the entire look of the room.

3. Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize … and have fun doing it!

Grab grandiose chandeliers (you may even find a baby mobile that looks quite similar to a chandelier), detailed swirl-curled frames, ribbons and bows. Placing a canopy over the crib can also help to convey the Victorian message.

4. Add flowers!

Flowers are also a popular detail in Victorian decor. Whether in the sheets or on the walls, flowers are feminine and can be o’ so adorable in a nursery! They bring about life and vibrancy to any surface … and let’s be honest … they’re pretty!
