I love modern furniture because it always surprises me. You never know what to expect and everything is possible because the modern designers are daring enough to dream about something one day and design it the next. So they invented something that is called cantilever chair. This type of chair has no back legs, but the front legs are actually glued to a steel support. This support can be used both for sustaining the body weight of the person sitting in the chair but also use its special design and use it for decorative purposes when arranging an office for example.

Filigree Tree

Christmas is almost knocking at the door and everybody wants to have a Christmas tree inside. However, not all the people agree to the idea of cutting trees from the forest and bringing them into their homes and just wait for them to dry there. They do not want plastic trees either because they are so artificial and fake. But they still want to celebrate Christmas and keep on having this symbol into their homes every winter. So they prefer some unusual or less formal Christmas trees like this Filigree Tree. This original holiday tree is designed by Trine Find, a young Danish designer who just wanted something different, but still traditional.

The Filigree Tree is very simple in design and also very easy to assemble. You simply place the branches into the holes in the pole that takes the place of the tree trunk and attach all the decorations – colourful balls, jewels, tinsel or anything else you like. Every Filigree Tree is hand crafted and made of unfinished solid birch attached to the galvanized steel hardware. Today’s inspired design is a high-tech house for your pet rabbit. This ingenious hutch is worth £10,000 and comes complete with air conditioning and CCTV cameras so you can watch them while away on vacation.

A couple from Norfolk have built such a house because of the anxiety of leaving their pets behind. Jason, an electrical and mechanical engineer, spent nine months building the two-storey pine and stainless steel hutch. Fitted with LED lights and four cameras, this house is an unexpected, yet interesting way to check up on your pets. The footage is streamed live onto the internet and the couple can log on via their smartphones or laptop to see their precious bunnies hop around their hutch.

The smartest thing about it is that if your pets look too hot or cold you can use your mobile phone to switch on the air conditioning or close a bad-weather front shutter. Any instruction is acknowledged with a return text to confirm it has been successful. Moreover the cameras have an infra-red facility that allows them to check on their rabbits after dark. Based on a log cabin design, the two-bedroom hutch measures 7ft 6inc long, 4ft high and 3ft deep.

Contemporary Soho residence with indoor pool now for $100,000 a month

Private residences with indoor pools are hard to find. They are rare and usually made on order and the owners rarely choose to sell them or even rent them. It’s much easier for example to find something similar to this 5-story SoHo townhouse. It has its own indoor pool and it can be rented for $100.000 a month. It’s not a small price but it has a lot to offer. If you don’t want or don’t need to rent it a whole month you can just rent it for $50.000 a week or $20.000 a day.

The current owners of this house are unknown. However, we do know that the residence is famous. It has been used Beyonce and John Mayer that filmed music videos in there, it has also been used as a set for "Damages" and for Esquire magazine's photo shoot in 2009′s Sexiest Woman Alive Kate Beckinsale. So it’s not just another townhouse with a pool inside. Some research of the property’s records showed that it is owned by Marcus Nispel, the director of movies such as "Conan the Barbarian" and the remake of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre".

The residence is located at 214 Lafayette St. and over the years it has been used as a factory and a gallery space. When the current owners bought the place in mid-1990s they spent around 12 years renovating it. So you can imagine that it has been a dramatic change. The volume above the pool is a space that can be used as an office and above that there’s a three-floor residential apartment with three bedrooms.
