Sanderson 50s Wallpapers

Posted: 10 Dec 2011 09:58 AM PST

My grandma lives in a small village in the countryside and she whitewashes her house at least twice every year. That happens because the walls get dirty for various reasons like smoke, dust, kids living on the premises and so on. And since I have my own kids I do that , too. But sometimes you just don’t find enough time and resources for this. That is why it is great to look for other alternatives. And one of the best solutions is to use wallpaper. Wallpapers have very different patterns that are already printed on them. They are washable and a lot more resistant than a whitewashed wall. These Sanderson 50s Wallpapers  are amazing because they have an interesting modern design.

The pattern is made of small shapes that look like feathers or leaves of different colours. The colours are strong and come in great contrast, obtaining a great visual effect. It can be part of the overall design of the room and brings a touch of freshness and colour to it. The wallpaper is designed by Miro and can be purchased for £31.00. The price refers to a piece of wallpaper with the following dimensions: Width-   52cms and Length-  10m.

30 Christmas Tree Decoration Ideas for 2011

Posted: 10 Dec 2011 04:53 AM PST

A Christmas without a Christmas tree is a day without daylight. Obviously, the importance of Christmas tree needs no explanation. Let's think of decorating it the way you like.  A Christmas tree is the popular name of Yule tree. It can be used both in the natural or artificial form. In the aspect of natural tree, you need to quench its thirst for water. If you go for a natural one, make sure you make suitable arrangement for water.

In case of artificial Christmas tree, you need to take all the care to keep the needles in a perfect way. Your sincerity should be to keep it look natural. There should be enough room in between the branches to house your ornamentations.

The thing uppermost in your mind is to illuminate the Christmas tree. Either you can decorate it with lights or you can purchase a Christmas tree already fitted with lights. However, in the former case, to get the maximum luminous impact the experts are of the opinion to fit your Christmas tree with lights in proportion of its height. For example, you may fit 250-450 miniature lights for a tree of 3.5 to 4.5 feet height.

Apart from light, the best way to decorate your Christmas tree is to follow the inside-out rule. It will speak of the richness of the heart. Velvet or satin flowers are to be added to the branches. Color balls available in the market could be hanged, from the branches. To get the look of a natural tree endowed with flowers and fruits. Silver colored silk ribbons can be tied with glue along the stem of the tree to enhance that natural look.

To bring the impact of the heavenly atmosphere with the wake of Jesus' birth a star is a must at the top of the tree.{found on site}

Painted Amaryllis Butter Dish

Posted: 10 Dec 2011 03:22 AM PST

The fridge is really useful, as it keeps the products in our homes fresh and good to eat for a long time. You can store here fruit and vegetables, meat and cooked food, anything you need and want to. However, sometimes, when there are many things with different smells and tastes stored next to each other, they may exchange smells and tastes and you will be surprised to find your milk tastes like cabbage.

That happens because air inside circulates and some items like milk and butter absorb the smell around them. That is why it is a good idea to always keep the butter stored in a closed container. And I think this Painted Amaryllis Butter Dish is perfect.

This dish allows you easy access to the butter and when you lift the lid you can have as much or as little butter as you want. At the same time, the lid protects it from the unwanted influences from the other items in the fridge. It’s safe and very practical and it also looks great. The dish is made of ceramics and is hand painted with nice and red amaryllis flowers. The item is safe to clean in the dishwasher and you can also use it in the microwave oven without having any troubles. You can purchase it now for €16.00 from Anthropologie.

Wood Puzzle

Posted: 09 Dec 2011 11:39 PM PST

When it’s Christmas, but also on other occasions people love decorating their homes and prepare them for the holiday season. There are now many shops where you can find all the decorations you can think of and some more, but I think the best thing to do is Do It Yourself. There are certain kits that give you all the possible instructions and materials and tell you exactly what to do every step of the way. Here you can order a Wood Puzzle Kit that will be sent to you for just $24.

The kit contains some smaller and bigger slices of wood , some glue and a wooden square frame. The rest is up to you and your imagination. The point is to arrange all the pieces of wood inside the frame and obtain a nice decorative work this way. After the work is done just leave it to dry and after that use it as a nice decorative object you can display on the wall or maybe as a coaster for your table. Any way, the result is spectacular and it involves your own skills and imagination, which is all the more rewarding.

The Glass Facade House in Muñopepe, Spain

Posted: 09 Dec 2011 09:00 PM PST

This contemporary residence is the Heute House. It's a beautiful home and it's located in Muñopepe, Spain. The Huete House was a project by BmasC Arquitectos. It sits at the foot of Avila mountains, in Muñopepe, in the boundary between the foothills and the village and it offer amazing views of the surroundings.

The Huete House features an almost all glass façade. This minimizes the boundaries between interior and exterior spaces and it also lets all the natural light get inside. This way the interior is bright and beautiful. The Huete House is a sort of residence located at the limit between urban and rural, between nature and artificial. It's also an environmentally sensitive residence.

The spare clay bricks that resulted after the construction have been recycled and got a new function. They all have been cut into three pieces. The ones on the sides are 4 cm wide and they will be used as ceramic tiles in the northern façade. The central ones will be recycled as a ceramic block for the south fence. Nothing is lost this way. The Huete House is a modern residence, with a contemporary design and an elegant and inviting interior décor. It's a lovely family home, with spacious rooms and lots of storage space. Also, the views are amazing.{found on architezer}

Turquoise interior design from Ana Antunes

Posted: 09 Dec 2011 06:43 PM PST

New design styles  and particularly interior design trends are based on things towards which we develop  a feeling of coldness.Glass walls steel beams and  poles, dark colored walls shape a more and more impersonal feeling.We are busy all the time, we work hard in small offices and more ofthen than you would  think our homes look exactly as an office.

Some people take some time to think about their place that call home and how that place representes them and matches their  sprit and personality.A famous Portuguese designer called Ana Antunes created this place having just that in her mind. It is an airy place, comfortable also thanks to the gorgeous pieces of furniture placed carefully around the room.

That levander couch for example is beautiful and the combination of levander and turquoise is stunning.The super cumfortable white couch also found as part of the décor is very well integrated in the feminine ambiance.A lot of decorative objects found in this arrangement are simple and delicate , taking details on a new level of style and smoothness.

The overall turquoise  tint and soft pastels and slightly bold patterns also express youth and an open mind when it comes to decorating your living area to match your taste and personality.Like it or not but regardless of gender we all have a soft side which loves a great place to cudle.
