The Black House Facade in Zagreb, Croatia Posted: 13 Nov 2011 06:55 AM PST This contemporary, black residence was designed by DVA ARHITEKTA. It’s a black house and it’s located in Zagreb, Croatia. The construction of the house was completed in 2011. The residence covers an area of 590 square meters. The architects were actually asked to design two black houses, one of which for rental purposes. The houses were meant to be two identical units in all aspects. The two houses are connected by series of walls that surround the site. Each house is composed of two basic elements: the shell and the glass membrane. The shell or frame protects the transparent core, also allowing privacy.
Between the shell and the core, small spaces are formed. Those spaces can be used as functional zones that make the transition from interior to exterior. Several other framed outside spaces are formed in the same way, for example the entrance, the passage to the garden, the deck or the terrace. These spaces are both functional and intriguing. There’s a certain atmosphere in there, somewhere between private and open, between light and shade. Between inner and outer space. The actual design of the house, or houses, is actually very simple. It’s a contemporary structure, with geometrical shapes and a very simple design. From the exterior all we can see is the black shell. It’s mysterious and quite fun to imagine how the interior would look like. Inside, the black color theme has been continued. Most of the furniture is black and the overall look is minimalist and modern-chic. Sculptural Love Me Love Me Not Table Posted: 13 Nov 2011 01:22 AM PST Childhood is one of the most beautiful periods of our life or it is supposed to be like that. It is a great period when you are a small kid; you have no worries, not too many responsibilities. You can enjoy all the things that are offered to you and the others should take care of your safety and needs. For me childhood represents one of the happiest and funniest period. It reminds me of all the funny things that I used to do, the funny games that I used to play with my friends and the way I used to create all sorts of "troubles" with my little brother to my parents. John Vogel created in collaboration with Justin Plunkett a sculptural side table called Love Me Love Me Not .Actually it is a set of side tables which are available individually or as a set of eight. The set of eight creates a full flower shaped table while the base reveals a surface that looks like a leaf or a petal. Perhaps everybody remembers the period when you could take a flower and while you were removing each of its petals you were repeating the same thing: he or she loves me or loves me not.
The moment you reached the last petal you could find the answer of these questions whether your beloved loved you or not. It was a funny game of the childhood which expressed the high degree of our naivety as a child. Posted: 13 Nov 2011 12:13 AM PST Wallpaper was invented in order to respond to the people’s need of having a lasting interior design, something that will protect their home walls and something that will not have to be repainted every summer. Wallpaper is very useful, resistant in time and also very nice for the interior design. You only have to buy a nice designed wallpaper and your room will look great. And you can do it yourself, without the help of specialists. Any way, there are different opinions both pro and against, but I honestly like wallpaper. And this special design with Renaissance Leaves Wallpaper is simple and great. Farrow&Ball have produced wallpapers for all tastes , but I like this one most. It has stylized oak leaves on and the overall design is somewhat resembling the Renaissance style. The leaves are coloured in the same colour as the background, having only one gentle darker shade and this looks great, both catching the eye, but no so much as being annoying. The wallpaper comes in nine available colours and you can purchase it now for €110.00 per roll. Just measure the area of the walls you want covered, make an approximation of how many rolls you need and order everything online. Cute Cow Bathroom Fixtures by Artceram Posted: 12 Nov 2011 04:19 PM PST Kids love animals of any kind: dogs, cats, elephants, horses, mice and the list can go on with hens, cocks, geese, ducks, rabbits, parrots or frogs. They love their funny appearance and the specific noise they make. My little girl loves animals too and the moment we took her at the country side she became unstoppable. She made me run after hens, cocks, geese, cats and pay a visit to the dog that was barking there. She is not afraid of them like I am .The moment I here a dog burking, my legs began to tremble. For the contrary, my little girl is amused by its bark and she laughs a lot when she hears it.
Cow is also a funny animal for my daughter and perhaps the image of a cute collection of bathroom fixtures called Cow and designed by Artceram would make her laugh too. This nice collection is made of three models. One of them appears with the cow spots on it, another one has some areas that refer to different cuts of meat separated by dotted lines and the last model appears in nuances of the elegant combination of black and white. All the models seem to refer to the appearance of cow and reflect the use of the same combination of colors black and white. It is a collection that you can consider it funny, modern or unusual depending on your preferences and ideas. Earth Friendly Fruit and Vegetable Wash Posted: 12 Nov 2011 11:46 AM PST I never trusted fruits and vegetables that look exactly like when they were picked after they have already been in the shop for one week. This is most certainly not natural and there have been several chemicals injected in them or some other tricks used to keep them looking good for a longer time. My worries only got worse when I bought some oranges and when I peeled them my hands were covered with some sort of orange paint. Any way, my point is that you should use only natural products and when you can’t at least clean them very well using an earth friendly wash. This is the Earth Friendly Fruit and Vegetable Wash from Herb Trader. This very useful spray helps you clean the surface of the fruits and vegetables, removing all the bad substances and chemicals you can find there. After spraying them, you will be able to remove all preservatives and wax from the surface, the dirt and even the contaminants that can go to healthy food and which cannot be removed by normal water. It is perfect to be used in kitchens, day care centers and other places where cleanliness and healthy food are very important. You can buy a bottle of this wash (22 oz) for just $4.71. It is totally natural and does not harm nature.
