Fun and Colorful Kitchen Makeover Posted: 12 Nov 2011 07:45 AM PST Kitchen remodels are very difficult projects. Taking on such an upgrade is a daring move, but when you have finished the results will brush away every unpleasant memory. We would like to show you a very interesting kitchen makeover that speaks for itself. If you just bought a house and want to remodel it, then you have to make it showcase your personality and disposition. As you can see this kitchen was a big, dull space that lacked beauty and playfulness. After painting the walls and applying tile as the focal point, this place got a sophisticated feel. The owners didn’t have to throw away the cabinets because they were in perfect shape, but they chose to paint them in a bright color that gives this space some flavor.
They added some blackboard paint on two of the cabinets making them interesting and, also, giving the family the opportunity of writing down messages for one another. By placing a carper and some colorful elements, they made it feel like a friendly and fun place to entertain family and friends. All in all, if you want to change a room in your house, you just have to add some funky, bright elements that you love and the space will be creative and fun.{found on curbly} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Fun and Colorful Kitchen Makeover |
Coventry University’s bright and modern student center Posted: 12 Nov 2011 04:28 AM PST Students are used to less sophisticated places and conditions but that's only because they're usually more preoccupied with their education and don't really about the rest. Still, that's no reason to exploit that. Student's centers don't necessarily have to look old and boring, with old books and cheap furniture. They can be modern and fun like this one. Coventry University's new student center shows us how it's done. This place has cozy nooks, bright colorful interiors, a happy atmosphere and a modern look. The sunny yellow tone that has been used throughout the place is bright and happy and, in combination with the grey, it also gives a sense of youth and elegance. Coventry University's new student center covers a surface of 91,000-sq-ft and it's also known as "The Hub" among the students.
It's a bright and informal learning center with a clean look, modern design and large enough to accommodate 1000 students at a time. It's enough room for everyone to learn in there. If only the enthusiasm would be made to measure. The Hub is a combination between a library and a public area. It's like a home away from home for the students in the campus. The modernity of the décor is certainly appealing. My favorite items would be the teardrop pendants hanging from the high ceiling.{pics by Hawkins\Brown} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Coventry University's bright and modern student center |
Posted: 11 Nov 2011 11:58 PM PST Tea towels are very useful, as you can put them on the tea tray when serving tea and biscuits or even for drying the dishes you wash in the kitchen. But since their primary use is for display on the tea tray they are supposed to look well and be a joy for the eye. That is why the designer Camilla Meijer paid special attention to these towels and created special and beautiful designs for them. She chose flowers because they are so delicate and aesthetic all the time and they look nice on a piece of cloth, even if it is just a tea towel. So these tea towels that you can see here have a special pattern with sea flowers, hand printed in different colours like mustard yellow, blue and red. These tea towels by Camilla Meijer look great, as they are white with a colourful pattern and they are very good quality being made of linen mix 55% and 45% cotton mix. These towels are a bit smaller than the regular ones and they are 80 cm x 50 cm in size. That makes them perfect for the purpose they were made for: covering the tea tray or the goodies you place on the tray next to the tea. And I think each towel is totally worth the amount of £12.50 that is its price.
