Astounding House Overlooking Portelet Harbour Posted: 10 Nov 2011 09:27 AM PST Le Portelet House is a contemporary residence designed by MOOARC Architects. Located on the island of Guernsey, this gorgeous house overlooks Portelet Harbour. Completed in October 2011, this experimental family home will leave you speechless. The architects tried to combine natural beauty with refined architecture, creating an amazing house. The materials used were carefully selected so that they would blend with the beach setting and meditate between earth, water and sky. Set in a rocky side location this unique residence has everything on its side to become a first class property. The project presents three timber blocks into the hillside allowing views of the surrounding landscape from all principle rooms.
The interior presents floor to ceiling windows that bathe the house in natural light. Moreover it has a luxurious aspect, that features comfortable, modern seating, tables and lamps in the main living area, all in a black color in order to accentuate the natural lighting. The focal point in the living room and kitchen is a sleek, rotating fireplace that guarantees a cozy atmosphere. The white walls contrast the black furnishings, giving it an amazing look. Le Portelet House is a beautiful, modern home that could make anyone happy. With its luxurious features and spectacular views this residence is ready for its final curtain call. The beauty of freestanding bathtubs Posted: 10 Nov 2011 07:33 AM PST If you're lucky enough to own a house or apartment with a spacious bathroom then you've probably already noticed that it's not that simple to decorate such a room. When the bathroom is small it's difficult to include everything in there but at least you know what the basics are. But when there's so much space to fill with furniture it gets surprisingly difficult. A great idea for large bathrooms is to include a freestanding bathtub. It's a great piece and it would really look beautiful in a large area. There are lots of ways of including freestanding bathtubs in a home and we have selected a few of those ideas to inspire you. One option, if you wish to create a romantic décor, would be to add some curtains. You can choose for example a bathtub with a delicate shape and create a special corner, a space for complete relaxation and romantic moments.
Another idea would be to place the bathtub somewhere in the middle and not against the walls as usually. This will allow you to make this item the center of the décor and to create a cozy interior design. Of course, bathtubs can also feature different styles. There are traditional designs, classic designs and, of course, modern creations. You need to decide on what the style of your bathroom décor would be and then decide on a matching bathtub. Also, you would have to consider creating a uniform look so the rest of the furniture and fixtures should match. Of course, you can also combine styles for a more personalized look. These are just a few examples of how you can incorporate a freestanding bathtub in your home décor. You can use them as inspiration or forget everything and come up with your own idea.{pics from design-remont} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to The beauty of freestanding bathtubs |
Artistic two-leveled loft in Madrid, Spain Posted: 10 Nov 2011 06:21 AM PST Cozyness and comfort don't depend on any particular style. After all, we're all unique. Unique is also the word to describe this beautiful loft located in Madrid, Spain. It's a two-leveled loft that was designed by Fernando Tapia and Monica Andina. The interior is both artistic and casual. Even though the décor features the typical Spanish national coloring, there's nothing typical about this loft. That's not because it's unusually striking in terms of furniture, colors or materials but because it's a loft full of art. The designers managed to find a way to combine functionality with style without compromising one or the other. The result was this extremely functional apartment with a great sense of style.
The loft is divided into two volumes. The first part includes the living room, the kitchen and the dining room, in other words the public spaces of the apartment. The other volume houses the bedroom. As for the structure and the materials used, the loft features a combination of concrete and metal complimented by a colorful interior and vintage furniture. The most interesting part is the artistic side of this loft. The walls are covered with portraits, pictures and all sorts of other decorations. They vary from playful to dramatic and they cover not just the walls but basically the whole loft.{found on livejournal} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Artistic two-leveled loft in Madrid, Spain |
Posted: 10 Nov 2011 05:27 AM PST Even though I love animals and I would never want to hurt them, I still admit that there are some elements that require benefiting from them. It's just the way things are, the natural cycle, the effect of the evolution, the trophic pyramid. So here I am writing an article about a reindeer skin rug. You have to understand that when such products are being created this doesn't necessarily mean that the animals suffered from this. This rug for example comes from the Sami people in Lapland, who traditionally herd reindeer that use them for food, clothing and tools. This means that the reindeers weren't killed just to take their skin but this is more like a consequence of other needs.
Now to get back to our rug. It's a very smooth and soft reindeer rug that would look beautiful in the bedroom or in the living room in front of a fireplace. Since the rugs are made from natural materials, each product will slightly differ in terms of color or size. The approximate dimensions of each rug are 140 x 110cm. The rug needs to be brushed clean and the reindeer pelt will eventually shed hair but it won't go bald. It's very soft and cozy and the perfect thing to put your feet on when you get out of bed on a winter's morning. You can purchase the reindeer skin rug, also known as Hibernia blanket, sheepskin rug or filkin cushion cover for the price of £145.00. Posted: 10 Nov 2011 04:42 AM PST There are lots of beautiful sofa designs and, naturally they are all unique. So it's unfair to even compare them. Still, there are some designs are by far superior, designs that would make any room look great. One of those designs is the Ella sofa. This elegant 2 seated sofa has a simple design but still, it's eye-catching, chic and comfortable. This Italian piece of furniture features a tricolor fabric upholstery, with tones of beige and green or grey and mustard yellow. The same model is also available is a single color upholstery, in tones of brown, grey or black. Moreover, you can choose between fabric and leather.
The sofa is made with a pine frame wrapped in foam for more comfort and with a removable cover made of 75% cotton and 25% polyester. It also has seat and back cushions made of foam and filled with fibers. A lumbar cushion can also be used for additional back support. The overall approximate dimensions of the Ella 2 seated sofa are W147 x H81 x D87cm, seat height: 40cm. Be extra careful and avoid spillages and remove liquid spills immediately with an absorbent cloth or paper towel to prevent staining. You can purchase any one of these models of the Ella sofa for the price of £1,100.00. It's a modern, cozy, comfortable and elegant piece of furniture that would look great in almost any décor. Remarkable 5 bedroom flat interior design Posted: 10 Nov 2011 02:57 AM PST This spectacular flat is located in London and it's an exceptional property. The flat is one of the most remarkable ones currently found on the market. It was a project designed by Richard Hywel Evans architects. Designing this place was a real challenge. The flat had to be spacious, chic, modern and spectacular, with a living space connected by a glass footbridge. This 5 bedroom property features a bright, airy and versatile living space divided into two levels. It would make a great family home and it wouldn't need any renovations for many years to come. Moreover, the flat can be accessed by a glass elevator that leads directly to the apartment on both levels. Installing the elevator wasn't easy but all the work finally paid out.
The flat was completed four years ago (in 2007) and it features a modern interior equipped with all the technological devices needed. Also, the flat offers panoramic views of Holland Park and West London. The flat is now available for purchase for the first time for the price of £7,850,000. As for the interior structure, the flat includes a reception/ dining room measuring 38'2'' x 16'2''/11.63 x 4.93 m, a kitchen and breakfast room (12'11'' x 23'8''/3.94 x 7.21 m), a spacious roof terrace (21'11'' x 38'/6.68 x 11.58 m) and 5 cozy bedrooms with different dimensions. I particularly enjoy the interior design and the expansive glass windows from the living area. What do you think about the bedroom ? Kristen Panitch’s inspiring interior designs Posted: 09 Nov 2011 10:55 PM PST Every interior designer has its own style, a series of particular elements that make his/her decors special and remarkable. It's only natural to be this way since we're all different and our minds work in unique ways. Los Angeles-based designer Kristen Panitch for example is known for her extremely friendly designs and for the way she manages to make everything seem happy and full of energy. Let's take a look at some of her creations. These are just a few examples but it's enough to see how she works. Notice how all the rooms are kid-friendly and full of energy. It's clear that she knows how to combine colors, materials and textures to create an inviting décor. Every interior design has to be made in a way that would respond to the user's preferences and every day needs. That's what makes them great and functional.
I particularly enjoy the bedrooms and the friendly atmosphere. When you look at them you realize that it's not something in particular that makes them special but all the little details and the way they are combined to result in an inviting and cozy décor. Every little thing can make the difference between a boring interior and a décor full of life. A sticker can decide that, a decoration, a pendant, a color. Kristen Panitch's designs are cozy and inviting and the style they suggest is closer to traditional but it also has some modern touches.
