Posted: 07 Nov 2011 11:08 AM PST Some places make such a good impression on people that it is difficult to find something not to like, especially when the place is an example of quality and modernity. If we add a 32 sq m terrace and a yard with a southwest location to the already existent home, we get a great perspective over an entirely pleasant environment. The house in itself is simple and elegant, with large windows providing the most required aspect in any house, natural light and here it is plenty. The bright colors and materials, next to a lot of green space surrounding the area animate everything around and add a plus of joy.
Both the yard with the terrace and the house in itself are so attractive and inviting, that you feel the need to discover more than you can see at a first sight, to go beyond the surface. .. Luckily, the result follows the same pattern of good taste, quality, simplicity and elegance. No matter the corner you choose to watch, you have the same impression of finding yourself in a special place, carefully designed and taken care of. Every little thing contributes to the bright air provided by the warm colors of the walls, modern furniture pieces: the paintings, the flowers and all the decorative objects. What more could you expect from a home located on 36, Gyrfalcon Street, in Marieball as it has it all!{found here} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to A bright home like no other |

Los Feliz Contemporary Residence in Los Angeles Posted: 07 Nov 2011 08:13 AM PST This contemporary beauty is a stylish residence located in Los Angeles, California, USA. The house was a project developed by Techentin Buckingham Architecture, Inc. As you can see, the residence is rather simple and features a contemporary design. The lines are clear and the architecture is minimalistic but still eye-catching. Building a house in Los Angeles is not as easy as it might be in other cities. Here the costs are usually bigger. The foundation itself sometimes cost up to 20%-25% of the total project's cost. If you want to avoid this inconvenience a good idea would be to use the foundation of an already existing house. That's the case for this particular residence. The house was built on the structure of another house that was already on the site. Everything else is new and modern. The existing structure was re-designed and a third floor was also added to the house.
The rooms were reorganized and redefined. These spaces have been structured into life spaces, which are the bedrooms and the living rooms, work spaces, consisting of areas like a home office for example, the kitchen as a single unit, the embedded pool bathroom and last, but not least, the underground support spaces. In addition, there's also a loose-slung, a space designed for storage and, of course, the outdoor area.{found on archdaily and pics by Eric Staudenmeier} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Los Feliz Contemporary Residence in Los Angeles |
Posted: 07 Nov 2011 07:22 AM PST Whenever one realizes that a new piece of furniture is needed in the house, the easiest and most common thing that can be done is to go to the store and just buy a new item. Still, there are other ways of solving this problem. Even though it seems like a complicated practice, there are a lot of ways in which you can create your own piece of furniture. You just need a little more time than usual but the project can be both fun and practical. One way of doing that would be by building your own piece of furniture from scratch or just improvise and use some items you already have in the house or that you can easily find in stores or even on the street. This is an example of how you can obtain a practical storage unit by using milk crates. The idea was very simple. Take an empty piece like a cabinet with no drawers or shelves and add some recycle milk crates. The result was this customized piece with plenty or storage place and a very original look. This type of unique furniture comes in very handy when you’re a little short on cash or when you just want something different. It’s not difficult at all to create something like this. You just need to figure out what exactly are you trying to obtain and then adapt and improvise. In this case the crates have different colors but for a more uniform look they could have been painted black.{found on re-nest} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Recycled milk crate buffet |

Posted: 07 Nov 2011 04:55 AM PST Once you have a kid in your house you must pay attention to many things. Usually kids are very curios and have the intention to explore many places. My little daughter is one of them and she keeps taking me to different kinds of cabinets, drawers, wardrobes and tries to open all kinds of doors. She wants to see many things; she has already begun to memorize the places where she can find them although she is only 11 months old. She is a fan of keys and electrical cords so that I need to pay attention to all her moves and the objects she grabs. Unfortunately I cannot escape or at least camouflage all the electrical cords but this interesting DIY project gave me an idea. It is an easy project and refers to some attractive DIY Cord Covers. They will succeed in hiding the ugly aspect of the electrical cord and at the same time they will not represent such a big attraction for kids.
The only materials that are needed are: some fabric, no-sew hemming tape, iron .The process is simple so that you need just cut a strip of fabric two times the length of the cord and four inches wide. Then you must unroll the no-sew hemming tape and begin to hem the two edges of the fabric together, pressing with a heated iron. At the end, slide the cover over the cord that will ruffle automatically.{found bystephanielynn} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Attractive DIY Cord Covers |

Garage converted to bachelor pad in Bordeaux Posted: 07 Nov 2011 03:01 AM PST Bordeaux, France is a city of many options, some of them quite unusual if you ask me. When I say that I refer to the ingenious idea that Jérémie Buchholtz, a freelance photographer has when he made a choice regarding his new home. It’s not a romantic or a fancy apartment as you might expect but a modest garage that he decided to live in, of course after converting it into a cozy bachelor pad that perfectly suits his needs. It’s work that brought him to Bordeaux and it’s the lovely romantic atmosphere that made him stay. Finding a small and affordable apartment turned out to be surprisingly difficult. However, when he stumbled upon a garage on Passage Buhan, he saw the potential and decided to start his own project and make that place livable and even inviting.
The garage was priced at 80.000 euros or $107.000 which was less than half the price of a similarly sized home in the same area. Still, it needed some repairs and of course a serious redecoration. As a creative person that he is, Mr. Buchholtz saw the potential and was quite enthusiastic about his new project. He looked at the garage as a blank canvas that he could fill with anything he wanted. As a result, he created this simple bachelor pad that meets his expectations and suits his needs for freedom.{found on nytimes} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Garage converted to bachelor pad in Bordeaux |
Cute DIY Wall Clock of Wood Scraps Posted: 07 Nov 2011 12:38 AM PST Lately I have big problems with time. It seems to me that now is Monday and the following moment is Sunday. The week flies away so quickly that I hardly have I time to feel it. My entire schedule was changed by the appearance and development of my little girl. She dominates all my time and I sacrifice most of my time to her. She needs attention all the time, she needs to be changed, and she needs food and entertainment of course. If I am pretty lucky to put her to sleep in the afternoon perhaps then I can take advantage of some free moments and do something else. Usually it happens that I do things which still relate to her needs or the things that I do need more time than her nap. She has a stable program too and all the time I watch my clock.
Here it is a nice idea for a cute DIY Wall Clock of Wood Scraps. The main materials that you need are the wood scraps, some house numbers and a clock mechanism. The wood planks need to be stained and the house numbers will need some paint so that everything should look new and beautiful. It is a great project that will also help you to recondition your old wall clock if you have one.{found on meridianroad} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Cute DIY Wall Clock of Wood Scraps |
