| Free standing washbasin by Bruna Rapisarda Posted: 26 Oct 2011 09:57 AM PDT I know that bathroom usually look the same everywhere. Still, sometimes it's useful to think out of the box and try something new and innovative. A very good example would be this elegant, chic and stylish washbasin designed by Bruna Rapisarda. It's a new creation, a product that was released in 2011 and it's the type of fixture that I would probably see in a large mansion, in a villa or in a fresh beach house.
This beautiful free standing washbasin was hand crafted and it features beautiful details carved on its surface. It's made in lucid Livingtec and it's available in a wide range of colors. As for the dimensions, the basin measures 42 cm in diameter and has a very big capacity, 25 cm of depth and a waste drain in the same material as the washbasin.
The same product is also available with a new series of mirrors with LED lights that comes in several different shapes and sizes. This particular washbasin might seem unconventional compared to the standard ones but it would be a very distinguished addition to a contemporary bathroom. Moreover, it looks very chic and elegant. You can choose any color you want and match it with the rest of the décor and opt for a contrasting color to make it stand out even more. | Two contrasting properties in Kent, England Posted: 26 Oct 2011 08:55 AM PDT Kent is a county in southeast England, often referred to as “The Garden of England” because of its abundance of orchards and hop gardens and has one of the best climates in Britain.
It’s location in the southeastern corner of England means it borders the River Thames and the North Sea on the north, with the Straits of Dover and the English Channel to the south. France is only 34 kilometers (21 mi) away.. Kent is a beautiful part of England and is arguably one of the most beautiful locations to live in the country. Here are examples of two residences in Kent which perfectly encapsulate just how beautiful and welcoming homes in Kent can be.
The first house is the Crowborough residence, an expansive 5-bedroom home designed as an entertainment residence for receiving guests, and is as impressive on the inside as it is on the outside. It features a large and elegant lounge area arranged around a cozy fireplace and the room has chic French doors and large windows which allow plenty of natural light to get inside to creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere. . On the first floor there are three bedrooms and there are two more ones on the second floor. The property also includes a double detached garage, a kitchen/breakfast room, a dining room and a cloak room.
Another example of the many beautiful houses in Kent is the Petbam residence, a lovely 3-bedroom house featuring a three- storey structure. The house features a large open plan living/dining area situated on the ground floor. The first floor incorporates two cozy bedrooms and a family bathroom while the first floor accommodates the master bedroom and an en-suite bathroom. This inviting Mid-Terrace Town House also includes a single detached garage, a kitchen and a cloak room.
Both properties are remarkable both in terms of location and interior and exterior design. Each one of them was designed for specific purposes. The first one is an entertainment house while the second one is a cozy family home. | Posted: 26 Oct 2011 08:23 AM PDT Marble is normally used for sculptures like statues or for very expensive and luxurious floors. It looks very nice and when it is very well carved and polished it can even feel warm and nice to touch, being used for millenia now. However, every once in a while some visionary guys use unconventional materials for usual things like tables and this way they obtain great things like this Ava Marble Top Table. It is a bit unusual to see a normal table with a marble top, but the result is amazing. This kind of table can be easily be used for both indoors and outdoors use because marble is a very resistant material and it is not affected by weather. It is also very heavy, so you can’t move this table around the house. It is very heavy and also it will scratch your floor. That is why it is perfect for outdoor use where you don’t have to move it even when it snows or rains.
As I mentioned before, the heavy marble must be supported by strong legs, so the legs of this table are made of forged iron. They are beautifully designed and sturdy, too, but very strong and looking delicate at the same time. The metal has a brownish rusty finish which gives it an interesting appearance and even fits the table top which is coloured in brown and white. You can have it for $323.40. | Breathtaking Views in Finland – Villa Snow White Posted: 26 Oct 2011 07:30 AM PDT Villa Snow White is a gorgeous contemporary home designed by Helin&Co Architects. Siting on a 590 square meters plot in Espoo, Finland, this superb residence exudes luxury from every facet. The building, which locates on the top of a hill facing south, towards the archipelago, is stunning.
This two-story modern coastal residence has been shortlisted for the 2011 World Architecture Festival in the House category. The exterior of the house is an elegant choice of wood combined with the sleek white walls. As you can see the architects created a bridge that utilizes lots of wood in a mainly wildlife-surrounded area. Furthermore, a gorgeous garden with a stony pathway makes this home remain traditional, but also establishing a part of luxury.
On the other hand, the interior is as spectacular as the exterior. The first floor is beautiful, blurring the lines between privacy and sociability. It presents an elegant and spacious place with comfortable, modern furnishings. Soft, neutral tones were used in order to create the feeling of a bright, airy space. The focal point of the living area is a sleek fireplace that gives you a warm feeling.
Not only does it offer stunning views of Scandinavian scenery, but it is also a unique taste of luxury. | Unique House on the Island of Guernsey Posted: 26 Oct 2011 06:20 AM PDT Can you imagine a 15 th century barn remodeled into a house? Actually, Mooarac turned the former barn into the heart of the new home, located on the Island of Guernsey. The living space at the front of the house is really inviting; it is definitely the ideal place to relax and spend some time quietly, no matter it is in the morning when you drink your coffee, in the evening before going to bed or when your friends come over.
The plan of the house is fluid, three-dimensional, conceived as a separate sleeping block linked to the barn through the entrance. The general feeling you have in this house is that of a cozy and elegant place where simple volumes were created, but the key word rendering the character of the house is the inside-outside.
The house as a whole is great and every room in particular is great. The bathroom is the best example, which can convince even the most critical eye. There is an obvious use of high quality materials, of beautiful things, from the common pieces to the smallest details. The mixture of natural materials such as stone and wood with modern and clean spaces is the best example to prove that perfection exists. The entire space is open, inviting and stylish and the unity with the environment contributes to the harmony of the entire space. The colors speak for themselves. | Bunny & Carrot Paper Towel Holder Posted: 26 Oct 2011 05:41 AM PDT I am very grateful to live in these times, when everything is handy and when you can make the maximum of things with a minimum of effort. For example now we have paper towels and we can use them not only in the public areas, but also at home. The perfect place for using these towels is not the bathroom, but the kitchen. That is because when you are in the kitchen doing something like cooking or washing the dishes or even cleaning up the place you get dirty in no time and you wash your hands every four minutes. So these paper towels are very useful because if you used those old-fashioned kitchen towels you would make them soaked in no time. So the best thing to do is find a handy place for the paper towels or, even better, purchase a funny paper towel holder like this one.
This Bunny & Carrot Paper Towel Holder is funny and nice, with a design that is appropriate for the kitchen and also attractive for the kids, so the moms will not have to ask them twice to wipe their hands. It is made of thermoplastic resin and gets attached to the table or counter top so it will not roll over when you use it. It is available in three colors: light blue, green and white and is manufactured by Alessi. You can purchase it now for $60. | Posted: 26 Oct 2011 03:15 AM PDT Once you have entered a woman's bedroom you are amazed by the multitude of accessories she owns, the cosmetics she uses, the precious mirror and all the stuff she uses for her beauty moments.
Usually the jewelry is kept in a cute box but they may also be seen on different stands that will express the preferences and tastes of the owner.
For those who are more artistic and love sculptural objects here it is a nice idea for all these objects that a woman needs to use them every day.Actually it is an artistic DIY Jewelry Bust. Here are the materials you need (for both the tabletop and wall mount versions): piece of wood at least .5″ thick and 12″ x 17″ jigsaw (with a fine tooth blade for detail cuts), safety goggles and dust mask, sandpaper, white paint, paintbrush, table clamps (for securing the wood during cutting. you should have two of these), pencil.
For the tabletop version you may also need: 9″ x 12″ wood plaque (these are available at craft stores), 3/4 inch screws (x4), 4″ metal "L" bracket (usually comes in pairs at the hardware store), two pairs of pliers. For a wall mount version here are the other materials you need: scrap piece of wood (around 2″ thick and small enough to fit behind bust), 2″ screws (x2), cup hooks (x2), nails or screws (for the wall) (x2).
Print out the bust template at 140% the original size (or print and copy at 140%). the final dimensions of the bust should be about 11″ at its widest point and 17″ tall. Cut out the template and trace onto your piece of wood with a pencil.{found on designsponge} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Practical DIY Jewelry Bust |
| Posted: 26 Oct 2011 02:06 AM PDT Some people go to work because they have to – they need the money to survive, but some others do their job because they can’t help it – it’s in them and tries to come out at any costs. These are the artists who see the world differently. For example I go out and look at the sky and see nothing but clouds. An artist will see a million things and animals disguised as clouds. I look at these pictures and I see a beautiful table, but an artist like the American- Japanese designer Isamu Noguchi sees an opportunity to turn a piece of furniture into a work of art. He combined sculpture with furniture making and you can see the amazing result here. This Noguchi Table is beautiful and classy, apparently delicate, but stable enough to hold everything you place on it.

| A Minimalist Restaurant like no Other in Tehran,Iran Posted: 26 Oct 2011 01:34 AM PDT If you like a restaurant the first time you get there, you will definitely come again. The Ator restaurant in Tehran is a project done by Expose Architecture and is definitely the kind of place that makes you come back. The 50 sq m restaurant provides a warm and friendly atmosphere and, according to the sayings, delicious food.
In spite of the fact that it is small, at the same time, it is cool and attractive with its tables and chairs without legs that make the cleaning easy. The warm tones provide an inviting air that makes you feel at ease and enjoy everything around. The simplicity and the lack of mess contribute to the generally pleasant mood and this minimalist style makes us realize that we do not need to much in order to feel good and enjoy ourselves when we eat in another place than home.
Nothing compares to a nice atmosphere, a good company, good food and if we can have all these in the same place, it is perfect.Every little thing matches the general atmopshere, which is so welcoming that it makes you smile, feel at ease and want to stay as long as possible. The harmony given by the colors seems to belong to another world, one in which the most important thing is to feel good and enjoy life.
