| Posted: 19 Oct 2011 11:33 AM PDT Some people are very good in History, some others in Chemistry and some , me included, simply love Geography. I have always liked learning everything there is to know about continents and countries and their capitals, towns and rivers, frontiers and all the other stuff kids learn in high-school in Geography. And one of my favourite games was to say the capital of a country and locate it on the world map in very few seconds. Of course, I needed a map for that and the political ones turned to be really useful, as the countries were colourful and had a clear design and boundaries. Any way, I have just found out that now I can combine my long gone passion for Geography with the moments of relaxation I spend in the shower, and this thanks to this amazing Home World Map Shower Curtain.
This shower curtain has a special design and it looks like a giant world map, printed on a PEVA sheet . It will turn your bathroom into an interesting room with a unique design and your long showers will be doubled by a pleasant experience and the time spent there will be used for locating countries on the map, finding out their neighbours and continent and so on. Besides, you can have it for just $14.99. | Posted: 19 Oct 2011 10:52 AM PDT I like delicate and minutely designed and decorated things, but somehow I do like simple things better. I think that happens because I live in a pretty small apartment and I wish I had more space. As you know, the simple design of the furniture makes your living room look larger and creates the idea of space in contrast with all the adornments and accessories of a vintage piece of furniture for example. Well, I found this HEMNES COffee Table from IKEA and I loved it. It is my dream of perfect coffee table: not too big and not very small, either, just perfect for a couple of people to sit around sipping their steaming cup of coffee and having a good time around it.
This coffee table if square and made of wood and this feature makes it a bit warmer than a glass and steel table and also make sit more personal. It has a very useful shelf under the table top and you can use it for storing magazines, books or any other objects you like keeping near the coffee table. The table is available in black (my favourite), grey and white and you can purchase it for $119. | Retile your fireplace for a fresh look Posted: 19 Oct 2011 09:03 AM PDT Fireplaces are usually associated with marble or stone or, more recently with nothing since the modern fireplaces are no longer built into the wall. However, you can achieve a very interesting and original look by using tiles. The best thing is that you can do that by yourself. Here's an example of a before and after fireplace that got a fresh look and some new tiles.
If you don't want to get a contrastive and discrepant look you can opt for timeless tiles, like in this case, that would look good in any period and will still look good 10 years from now. In this case, marble tiles were used in order to match with some other marble features from the house. Then make a decision of the pattern and the color and get to work.
It will probably take a while to remove the old tiles and to smoothen out the area. Once you're done, apply the new tiles and get ready to be amazed. You can choose to create a neutral look like in this case, thus making it harder for people to realize that you've changed anything, or you can go for something a little more dramatic, as long as it integrated into the décor. Just trust your instincts and use your imagination. It's easier than you might think.{found on themarionhousebook} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Retile your fireplace for a fresh look |
| Extravagant House by Marcio Kogan Posted: 19 Oct 2011 08:31 AM PDT Sao Paulo-based architect Marcio Kogan of Studio MK27 has done it again. The Cobogo House is a superb single family residence that will surely catch your eye. A piece of luxurious, natural and comfortable architecture, this residence is a first class property.
Nominated for an award in the house category in the World Architecture Festival, this house is an outstanding contemporary piece. The architect wanted to create an extravagant place where the exterior part is equally, if not more important than the interior. The exterior was designed to incorporate privacy and serenity. Moreover it features something that will leave you speechless, a wildlife garden.
The house’s focal point is the authentic sculptural, light-diffusing screens by American sculptor, Erwin Hauer. The crisp plaster exterior is contrasted with rectangular bands of wooden planks. At night, the patterned elevation creates the effect of a glowing jewel box when illuminated by the inner bedroom’s lighting. On the other hand, the interior is very spectacular as well. It presents big spaces, filled with modern furnishings with a delightful lavish feel.
The Cobogo House is a sanctuary to retreat to. It has all you need to relax and entertain family and friends. Whether you prefer the pool, the patio area or the cool of the interior, you will find a luxurious, chic house. If also like to add luxury and style to all that, then you get the most expansive campervan in the world which happens to be for sale.

| Chic residence in Austria by X Architekten Posted: 19 Oct 2011 05:09 AM PDT This is an unusual and yet very simple and attractive residence. It's located on 4030 Ebelsberg, Upper Austria, Austria. It features an interesting design with unconventional walls, a reason that determined someone to call it the Folded Corten House. The residence was designed by X Architekten and the construction was completed in 2007.
It's a modern residence, with a beautiful shape, featuring large windows and even floor-to-ceiling glass walls that allow expansive views over the surrounding landscape. I especially like the tall tree situated very close to the house that seems to be part of the design and that is like a protector of the residence. However, As the tree gets older it will probably become a danger for the structure of the house and it will eventually have to be removed.
This single-family residence sits on a site that measures 180 sq meters and the house occupies a 215 sq meter area. It's situated in a quiet area, surrounded by nature and vegetation. In fact, it's the challenging location that dictated the unusual design of the house. The structure had to be adapted to the landscape, thus resulting in an intriguing but simple and very chic residence. I don't have much information regarding the interior design but it seems to be equally stylish and simple as the exterior.{found on architezer} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Chic residence in Austria by X Architekten |

| Elegant and Playful Rocker by Doshi Levien Posted: 19 Oct 2011 03:02 AM PDT London studio Doshi Levien have created a wonderful piece of furniture for your children. Showcased at the imm cologne in Germany, the Rocker is perfect and fun for kids. Having a dream which was to create something that celebrates an equal exchange and plurality of values relating to different societies, material and visual culture, they came up with this amazing piece.
After observing children, the designers realized that they aren’t interested in figurative items, but everyday objects that are not intended for play. Moreover, kids find their own imaginative purpose for any object already in the house. This is what made them create a Rocker that is like a found object, an improvised ride.
Created for Richard Lampert, the Rocker will be part of the new children’s collection. Its plastic, hourglass-shape body rests simply on two wooden runners, guaranteeing hours of rocking fun, and, at the same time, producing a piece that is as much a design element as it is a plaything. Furthermore the combination of natural, unfinished wood and white plastic is timeless and manages to be both elegant and playful. Beautiful in form, finishing and design the Rocker will bring a glint to your eye, even if your childhood is long behind you.
