Antique furniture is always beautiful. It adds class and elegance to any interior. This is valid for basically any room of the house, even for the bathroom. This antique chest is a living proof for this affirmation. It's a chest or a cabinet that also includes a sink on top. It was designed for elegant bathrooms that needed a vintage touch.

The chest is both stylish and functional. Besides the fact that it's also a sink, this antique chest also includes plenty of storage space. It features two drawers and two doors for items like toothbrushes, toiletries or other small items. As for the materials used, the chest is almost entirely made of wood. It also has a marble veneer top and brass sink fixtures, carved cabriole leg and a beautiful antique finish.

The overall dimensions of this antique beauty are 36 1/2 x 20 1/2 – 41 3/4 H. It's a relatively small item so it could be included in almost any bathroom. Living room makeover in 3 months

Everyone reaches a point in their life when the same old home they live in seems a little too old and boring. That's when you can either move out or start a makeover. Usually a makeover is cheaper and less disturbing. Let's take a look at this living room that has recently suffered a makeover and now has a brighter look.

The room was redesigned by Alison Royer that basically changed just about anything but still managed to come up with a similar design with obvious improvements. The biggest change was the color change. The dark ceilings have been turned into bright elements that help form a fresh new look. And in order to create continuity and uniformity, the same color from the ceiling beams has also been used for the window frames and has also been replicated in some decorative items like the pillows and the furniture.

The new living room is a combination of traditional and modern elements that peacefully coexist. The new colors used are part of a neutral palette. The walls have been painted white while the furniture features tones of brown, beige and combinations of these two. The new look is elegant and fresh and it was achieved in three months. More and more people seem to appreciate the healthy, bio food. They have seen the negative effects of junk food and are willing to prepare their food at home. Although it is more easy and comfortable to get out at a fast-food and order your favorite pizza at home we need to think of our health and good habits and examples that we need to teach our children too.

Sometimes cooking at home may become a relaxant activity which might disconnect you from your ordinary stuff like the problems that you have at work or in your private life. As pizza seems to be a type of food that can be prepared very easily everybody wants to cook it at home. Here it is an idea of how you can create a simple DIY Brick Pizza Oven which can be very cheap too. You will need to buy two 12" or eight 6" of unglazed ceramic tiles and then to arrange them in your standard oven in two layers. The base layer will assure the amazing crust while the top will help increase the temperature within the pizza's area. It will also add some lightly burned top crust.

Barn turned into a contemporary home in Surrey, England

When you find yourself in an old house surrounded by the same old items and the same furniture you had when you first move out, maybe it’s time to make a major change, The same thing applies to those who are looking for a new home but they didn’t find it yet. Maybe you should stop looking for the perfect home and take some other options into consideration. Such an example is this lovely contemporary home that once was a barn.

The barn, now a contemporary home, is located in Surrey, England. Its conversion was a project by Stedman Blower Architects and it such a blast that it even appeared on the famous TV show "Grand Designs". The new building features a highly modern design and an original layout. A lot of things have been changed. However, the exterior has basically remained the same. That’s a part of the plan. This way the impact is much stronger when you enter.

The current design is mostly characterized by openness and space. There’s an open plan living room and a suspended walkway that connects all the other rooms. The main bedroom is situated upstairs and it overlooks the church where the owners got married. It’s a very romantic view and the church is a permanent reminder of what was probably the happiest day of their life.

Expansive Dowd Residence

When looking at this beautiful residence you probably think that it must be new construction. You would be partially right. It's a contemporary, new house that has been built on the ruins of an already existing property. The old residence was not is very good shape and it wouldn't have been possible to save or renovate. So they architects working at this project decided to sue some of the elements that they were able to preserve as a base for a new building.

In case you were wondering where this beauty is located, here's the address: 114 St Georges Bay Rd, Parnell Auckland. As you can see, it's an expansive residence, quite big. It has a contemporary exterior design, a combination of concrete and wood. The delimitation between the materials has been made visible by the sue of different and contrasting colors.

In order to create a continuity between the exterior and the interior designs, the same elements are repeated throughout the house, like the wooden panels that cover a part of the house and that can also be seen on the staircase, on the balcony, on some of the walls in the house, even on the kitchen island. The interior décor is a combination of contemporary elements and some traditional ones, just a reminder of the old structure that sued to sit on the same plot.
