| Cozy and freshly renovated apartment in Gothenburg Posted: 13 Oct 2011 05:00 AM PDT Located in a 1889 building, on the second out of three floors, this apartment has been recently renovated and now it's a charming and bright place ready to become a home. It features two cozy bedrooms overlooking the quiet courtyard and a stylish bathroom, renovated in 2009.The building is situated in Gothenburg, in a vibrant area filled with different cafes, pubs, laundries and original restaurants.
As you enter, there a small hallway, functionally decorated as not to take useful space from the apartment. There's plenty of room for cloths, bags and shoes. The hall is connected to the kitchen, spacious and bright. It features tall windows and tiled floor. The kitchen underwent a full renovation in December 2009. From the hall you can also access the bathroom which has also been renovated in 2009. It has white walls and modern tiles, a shower with folding glass doors and room for a washer and dryer.
The living room is bright and airy and it can also be used as a dining room. There's also room for a cozy reading corner or a work area. The bedroom is facing the courtyard providing privacy and tranquility. It was renovated in 2008 and it features a built-in wardrobe in the hall. 1. Floral arrangements: Flowers will not always stay in place exactly how they should. With a few ties, you can easily manage any large arrangement with ease. The only tip would be not to tighten things too much or the flowers will be damaged. 2. Child-proofing: If you have little ones visiting your home, it does not make sense to purchase and install child locks on all of the cabinets and doors. By using these ties, you can cheaply secure things so that children do not get into places they should not while visiting.
3. Gardening: In the garden, plants such as tomatoes can often need assistance to grow and stand up straight. By using some ties on a plant stake, you will help to promote upward growth. 4. Christmas Lighting: Many times, hanging lights around the home and on the trees can be a difficult chore. This is especially true when connectors and fasteners break over time. A few cable ties will certainly help to keep things in place and make the job go that much quicker. 5. | Eco Barbie dollhouse inspired by IKEA Posted: 13 Oct 2011 01:00 AM PDT For those who are fans of the Barbie dolls I'm sure a Barbie house is not an option, but a must-have. Barbie dolls have been homeless for some time until miniature house have appeared on the market. However, there hasn't been a truly satisfying design so far. This is about to change because designers have created a modern dollhouse inspired by IKEA which is eco-friendly and sustainable.
The dollhouse is made of sustainably sourced wood like solid oak and birch plywood and the interior is decorated with modern IKEA-like miniature furniture. Every single piece is made by hand so you can imagine how difficult it must be. They are made using wood, stone, metal and some ultra modern non-toxic, food safe materials.
These sustainable dollhouses are created by Polish firm Miniio. The price starts at $120 for single dollhouses and it can go up to $220 for the complete two-level dollhouse with furniture included. They really seem like real house, with everything they need from chairs, tables and lamps up to kitchen furniture, sinks and everything else. To me it sounds a little crazy to go through all that trouble just to make a dollhouse for…dolls. Nevertheless, there are plenty of people who take this thing seriously and who have been waiting for this design for a long time. So enjoy! The hallway is bright and spacious, with plenty of storage space. The floor is covered with grey tiles and the walls are painted white. As you advance on the hallway you reach the laundry room and bathroom.
The laundry room is equipped with both washer and dryer, it has dark tiles and white walls, as well as two windows. The bathroom is situated on the ground floor and it's a combination of bright colors and functional storage space. It has the same black tiles as the laundry room, as well as folding glass doors.
The living room is directly to the kitchen forming a large open space. The kitchen features stylish glass mosaics on the walls combined with contrasting dark countertops and black cabinets set on the bright white walls. There are two windows placed on two different directions ensuring natural light throughout the day.
The living room features narrow windows that add character to the whole décor. If we move further, we reach the bedroom, featuring a very beautiful and cozy fireplace and that's also connected to a balcony. The walls are painted in a light brown tone, very calming and inviting. The two large windows complete the whole décor. | Cozy and fresh country house with generous interior space Posted: 12 Oct 2011 11:13 PM PDT This colorful and cozy house resembles a typical house from stories like the Little Red Riding Hood or Hansel and Gretel. It has a very cute traditional shape and the little outdoor deck is the missing element that made it complete. It's a very welcoming residence with beautiful wooden floors and white walls. The exterior is painted red but the interior has been decorated in a more quiet style, with white walls and less striking colors.
As you enter, there's cute hall from where you reach the kitchen and living room. There's also a staircase that takes you directly to the attic. The kitchen adopts a classic style with plenty of natural light coming from the large windows. There's plenty of storage space and a very generous work surface for cooking. The kitchen is opened to the living, forming a common area. The living room is slightly different and it presents a more modern décor. It has narrow floor-to-ceiling windows and a very cozy fireplace.
If we go further, the master bedroom has a calm and relaxing décor, with a double bed and huge closet that takes an entire wall. Is floor is laminated wood and the walls are also white. The second bedroom is also spacious and it accommodates a single bed and a desk.
