265 sqm house for a family of three by Estudio BaBo Posted: 09 Oct 2011 09:14 AM PDT This modern residence was built in 2011 and it sots on a 265 sq m area. It's located in Buenos Aires, Argentina and it was designed by Estudio BaBo with collaborators Buceta, Marco Fumagalli and Ing. Carlos Calissano. The house is situated on a corner lot in a traditional country Club in Pilar, an area where there's usually a uniformity when it comes to the design of the residences. However, this one stands out with its modern simplicity. The clients requested an isolated single-family residence that they intended to use mainly during the weekends and the summer. However, the house could easily become a full-time home in the future. The interior of the house consists in a large public day area that includes a hall, a living/dining room, a bathroom, a guest room, a pavilion and an outdoor terrace. There's also a private night area that features a main bedroom with a private bathroom and two secondary bedroom with an additional bathroom.
Besides these two volumes there's also a service area with a bedroom, a bathroom, a laundry room, a technical room and a 2 car garage that can also be sued as a playroom. The client's requested a smooth a fluid transition between those areas and also between indoor and outdoor spaces. The result is a minimalist modern home with glass walls and a uniform interior design.{found on archdaily and pics by Curro Palacios Taberner} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to 265 sqm house for a family of three by Estudio BaBo |
Posted: 09 Oct 2011 07:12 AM PDT Ever since they first appeared on Earth, people had to hunt animals and pick fruits because he needed food to survive. So, in time, turned hunting into a noble hobby, something reserved for rich people. The best hunters were very proud of it and wanted to show everybody this, so they displayed trophies from these animals like their heads or antlers. Well, this is no longer cool, but rather barbarian, but I guess there are still some nostalgic people who would like at least one of these Antler Chandeliers. The antlers are, of course, fake, asthey are made of ceramics and have different colours, but the design is pretty similar to the original one and shows several pairs of deer antlers woven together as chandelier. The designer of this chandelier is Jason Miller and the model presented in the photo has 12 antlers, but there are also different other models with a different number of antlers. These antlers have small light bulbs on top, so they look pretty cool. You can have this model of chandelier with 5,900. Posted: 09 Oct 2011 02:39 AM PDT I am not a fan of scaring things .Even now I am afraid of dark, of dead people, skeletons and other frightening items. I remember that when I was little and I had to walk on the hall of my apartment because it was dark and I was afraid of all kinds of shadows I covered my eyes with my hand until I reached the place I needed. I think that all these phobias are genetic as my father is afraid of the same things. Although I do not like the scary costumes of Halloween I do love this holiday and the legends related to it. Since the Trick- and –Treaters appear at your door costumed as vampires, witches, monsters, phantoms or other scary characters you may also receive them with an appropriate Halloween décor. You may create your own scary DIY Mummy Pumpkins that will look great at your windows. Perhaps they will even protect you from the evil spirits as it is said on Halloween. The more frightening your house looks like the more protected you will be.
It is an easy DIY project that it will not cost you too much. All you need for it are some materials like: a plastic or foam pumpkin, spray fabric stiffener, cheesecloth, googly eyes, scissors and hot glue.{found on changingmydestiny} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Scary DIY Mummy Pumpkins |
Glass Cube Planters from Score+Solder Posted: 08 Oct 2011 10:30 PM PDT I love flowers and, even if I don’t have a garden, I do have lots of planters and flower pots I spread all over my apartment. But I am so tired of the old-fashioned planters and pots, so I started looking for something special, something unusual, but attractive, something to go with my modern house and at the same time something that can protect my plants against my curious children. And after some investigations on the Internet I found these gorgeous Glass Cube Planters from Score+Solder.
These planters are actually very nice looking glass cubes that are filled with sand and soil and allow plants to grow inside. They are just like terrariums, only used for plants. They are perfect for cacti and can be embellished by adding some decorative stones inside. The planters have different sizes and you can have a small one for $110 and a large one for $130. Posted: 08 Oct 2011 08:17 PM PDT Every now and then people rediscover the wonders and miracles of past times and value them again, at least for a period of time. That started during Renaissance when the world valued the works of the ancients once again and this happens every day in different fields of activities, from fashion to home design. This Flock of Butterflies Clock is an incredible example. It pictures one of George Nelson’s creations that were conceived some times in the 50s and 60 and rediscovered over fifty years later. When George Nelson created this clock, it was called “2226″, like all his works, but now it was given the name of Flock of Butterflies Clock because it seems more appropriate and it is also more suggestive. The company that revived this clock is Vitra and the item was again in production in 2010. Of course, all the manufacturing specifications were strictly respected, just like the original manufacturer – Howard Miller company – did. The clock has a very interesting design and is made of varnished aluminum, which makes it an interesting display for your living room wall. You can have it now for $760.75.
