8 ways to place your original outdoor Jacuzzi

Posted: 07 Oct 2011 07:40 AM PDT

Everybody likes Jacuzzis. They can be a great source of relaxation and they can be placed just about anywhere. Indoor Jacuzzis are very common. However, it's a whole new experience when you are able to enjoy it outdoors. If you already have one or if you're planning on getting one but you're having trouble finding the right location, we're here to help. Here are 8 ways in which you can use your Jacuzzi to create a unique décor.

Elegant Outdoor jacuzzi

Elegant Outdoor jacuzzi

1. First let's start with J-345. This spacious beauty would be a very nice choice for a family of four that likes to spend time and relax together. Notice how elegant this model looks. It's the design that also inspired its owners to choose the deck as a location. This is actually a pretty common choice, especially in residences situated in a private location, like for example near a forest and where you can enjoy a hot bath and a massage without worrying about unwanted visitors.

2. Here's the same model but in a different location. This one has been placed in the corner of an outdoor terrace. The location is private and surrounded by vegetation so it was a convenient choice. In this case It's especially nice the fact that you can relax and enjoy your Jacuzzi after which you can got straight to the terrace and enjoy a cold drink or maybe have a bite to eat. It's also a great attraction during parties or gatherings.

3. If having a Jacuzzi in plain view is that exactly what you had in mind, here's another idea. Build a special pavilion, like a gazebo for more privacy. This will also provide you with a roof just in case the weather decides to turn its back on you. I have to say that this seems like a very attractive idea.

4. And just in case that wasn't enough or if the location of your home or the neighbors require special measures, here's another idea of a gazebo, this time with a closed design. Just choose a nice corner near you house and build yourself a private retreat for your Jacuzzi, somewhere where you can relax in peace and where you won't bother or be bothered by anyone.

5. If you're lucky enough to own a spacious property with a large backyard and tall fences then you don't have to worry about anyone but you. Here's the same Jacuzzi model, this time placed in an open area surrounded by flowers and trees. In addition, a large outdoor umbrella in there just in case the sun decided to get on your nerves.

6. Here's the J-480 which is a similar Jacuzzi model. This one has also been placed among flowers and trees and it also has an umbrella nearby but the décor is definitely more crowded. However, it seems like a pretty nice location, like a tranquil area full of energy, ready to borrow you some.

7. J-375 seems to have a very privileged location in there, with a patch that leads straight to the Jacuzzi, with flowers and grass on each side and a small table and chair nearby. You'll probably feel like in your own spa in there.

8. And finally, here's J-480, our last star. This beauty enjoys not only the satisfaction of being surrounded by nature but also the beautiful views over the lake. While relaxing in this Jacuzzi, you can almost feel the envy of those on the other side of the lake. J-480 is the ultimate in luxury hot tubs so you can be sure to be treated well.{pics found here}

Create a rustic kitchen design with the help of stone veneers

Posted: 07 Oct 2011 06:36 AM PDT

Stone is a material that's not that common in interior designs. That's mostly because it's not that easy to integrate in any home and it doesn't match with a lot of other materials. However, when properly used it can help create very inspiring designs and it also creates a special atmosphere. Let's see how we can use stone veneer in the kitchen. Here are some examples of kitchen designs that might inspire you.

Notice how the stone has been used to create focal elements in the kitchen. You don't have to cover an entire wall with stone in order to have a beautiful design. You can just choose one part of the kitchen that you think could benefit from this particular material and focus on that.

The most common use of stone veneer is on the walls. It's an old practice that's still in use and could look very chic. Again, you don't have to cover the entire wall but just portions. If you have a larger kitchen you can opt for a medieval-like décor and make some arches for example. The stone would be a very good choice in this case.

You can also use stone for the fireplace in case you have one. If not you can just use it for the stove area and create a rustic décor. However, it can also be used in modern kitchens. Just choose an appropriate type of stone with a simpler look and maybe in a darker color or with a lacquered finish. There are lots of options to choose from and there's a model for every home. You just need to find the right one and to choose the right combinations of materials, colors and textures. If you don't trust your instincts ask a professional for help and get some inspiration from these decors.{pictures from here}

Summer mountain home in Vail Valley

Posted: 07 Oct 2011 05:22 AM PDT

Most people associate ski resorts like the Red Sky Ranch with…skiing. It seems logical, considering the location. However, not everyone seems to think that way. It's uncommon and curious, but there's a couple that decided to build a second home there and they like to use it mostly during the summer when they admire the views and the blue sky.

Colorado Mountain Summer House

The owners didn't even intend to build a warm or cozy home, like most homes in that area are. On the contrary, they wanted an airy place, where they can live with the doors and windows wide open. As a result they got this modern residence created by VAg, Inc., Architects & Planners and Worth Interiors.

The couple didn't really have a clear picture in mind in terms of how they wanted their new home to look like. However, they knew what they didn't want: exposed beams and timber that are so typical to the mountain architecture. The new house is a 7000 sq ft residence and it turned out to be a challenge for architect Brian Judge who had to find a solution that would comply with both the owner's wishes and the Red Sky's design regulations.

At this point, you start to wonder why the owners didn't just build their house on the beach if they intend to use during the summer anyway. Well, you can't compare those two locations. It's a completely different experience when you go to your mountain retreat in the middle of the summer and enjoy the chilly weather and the beautiful mountain views.{found here}

4 Autumn Table Setting Ideas

Posted: 07 Oct 2011 04:33 AM PDT

Every season has a specific color that is associated with. For summer it's yellow, because of then sun and sand, the spring is associated with green, because of all the vegetation, for the winter it's white because of the snow and for the autumn it's orange. Orange is not a color typically seen in nature in its true form during autumn, however, it's the one that comes in our minds when thinking about this season. That's mostly because we associate it with some key elements like the leaves and the pumpkins.

Eco-Halloween

It's always nice and exciting to prepare for a new season. I'm not talking just about cloths and shoes but also about smaller things like the way you set the table for example. Here are four examples of how you can use orange at the dinner table to create an autumnal atmosphere.

Eco-Halloween

Eco-Halloween

The first one will be called Eco-Halloween. Whether or not you celebrate this holyday you probably know the main characteristics so it's easy to see why this arrangement is called like that. It's mostly because of the combination of orange and black and the eco accessories like the bamboo rings and sticks, the sea pebbles and sand and the mesh tablecloth. It's a décor rather simple and easy to set up.

Island Spice

Island Spice

Island Spice

The second one is called Island Spice and it's also easy to see why. It's a more colorful setting that reminds of an Oriental bazaar with all the aromas and spices. The main colors sued here are orange and chocolate. Don't forget the spices and the decorations, like those cute golden wire balls for example.

Velvet Season

The Velvet Season is the third option and it mainly tries to recreate the idea of an autumn resort. It's a fresh and refined décor and it doesn't require any specific elements. Just use your imagination and don't forget the orange.

Old, Old Story

Old, Old Story

Finally, the last autumn table setting idea is called "an Old, Old Story“. You can picture it even without our help. Maybe it helps if you think of old movies or stories, or basically anything that comes in your mind when you say those words. Use for example some dried flowers, ribbons, butterflies and small baskets. The idea is to create a rustic and romantic atmosphere. Again, it wouldn't be autumn without orange.

The 370 sqm Belvedere Residence

Posted: 06 Oct 2011 11:42 PM PDT

This beautiful residence is located in Belo Horizonte, Brazil and it was designed by Anastasia Arquitetos. The project was completed in 2011 and the house occupies a 370 sqm area. The space has been divided into two levels and the barrier between indoor and outdoor areas is thin and sometimes unnoticeable. This way you get the feeling of a wider and larger space and it's also a way of mixing a little the decors.

Belvedere Residence in Brazil

The site was quite small so some parts of the design had to be left out. There is no entry hall as it would have only used significant space that the architects were able to use is a more practical manner. All the rooms have large doors and the front and back facades are made of matted glass that is also an effective thermal insulator. The residence also includes a beautiful indoor garden filled with natural light.

The house sits one meter above the ground, a decision that has been made in order to avoid irregularities and to provide a better insulation from the soil moisture. The upper walls feature concrete beams with ripped pieces of wood left visible. It was initially a structural option that turned out to offer aesthetic benefits as well. Despite all these elements, the final result was a light weighted residence with an airy and pleasant décor.

Radiant Galaxy chandelier

Posted: 06 Oct 2011 10:01 PM PDT

Usually in the living room or dining room the décor asks for something exquisite and eye-catching that would bring the whole room together. This effect is usually achieved by adding a nice chandelier. Today we're only going to take a look at one such item and it's called the Galaxy Chandelier.

This particular type of chandelier would look best when used in the living/dining room or even on the entry hall. The purpose is to attract attention and to emphasis the general aspect of the room. The Galaxy chandelier has a design that does exactly that without exaggerating the details. It has eight arms that spread around and each one holds a faux candlestick. It's both chic and romantic.

The chandelier is made of metal with a satin brass finish. It uses eight 60w max / b10 bulbs and it includes three 12" and one 6" extension rod. You can also choose the optional off-white drum shades is you want to create a more formal look. The Galaxy chandelier was originally available for $895 but now you can buy it for only $716. It measures 38"dia x 7"h so it would be advisable to use it in a room with high ceilings so that it wouldn't incommode you. However, if you decide to place it above the dining room table for example the ceiling height is not that important.
