Unusual Boeing Stearman PT-13 Engine Coffee Table

Posted: 04 Oct 2011 08:33 AM PDT

I am one of the persons who adore planes and go by a plane. Many years ago I went for the first time by plane and it was a special experience which offered me great sensations. I was so happy about this experience so that I could not resist getting a new chance of trying again the same sensations. So as one of my brothers began some courses of gliding I did not escaped the opportunity when he told me that I could accompany one of the pilots who were at the board of the plane which was supposed to take the gliders to the high sky .I was thrilled by this experience and enchanted by the fact that I got three flights.

Perhaps my passion for planes comes also from the fact that my grandfather, my uncle and my husband were soldiers for aviation.As I cannot afford myself to some other experiences of this kind perhaps a thing which can remind me of all these moments can be great .If you are also attracted to these things and love history too you can admire this unusual Boeing Stearman PT-13 Engine Coffee Table.

It is a special piece which comes from the Canadian Museum of Flight in Langley, British Columbia. Actually it is a cylinder radial engine that represents the base of this coffee table which was used in WWII with a sheet of glass atop.

Boeing Stearman PT-13 Engine Coffee Table is a piece which can be seen at the Decoratum Gallery in London and has a sale price of £ 19,750.

Andi & Dean’s before and after master bathroom

Posted: 04 Oct 2011 07:16 AM PDT

Andi and Dean are a couple that decided to buy their own apartment in San Francisco last year. The apartment wasn't in the best shape so they've decided to renovate and remodel it. The couple started to do that room by room and they were very careful with the budget. Let's take a look at what they've managed to do with the master bathroom.

The couple saw some Anne Sacks tiles that really loved but they were over budged so they had to search for something else. They found a similar offer for less. The walls were covered with classic subway tiles and painted in a soft tone of green. For the sink, the couple found a very nice model at Restoration Hardware but it cost $1,200, not a very attractive price. After some research, they found this beautiful metal base cabinet at Restoration Hardware Outlet and they only paid one third of the price for it.

Furthermore, the original 1890s bathtub needed to be restored and this became Andi's job. First the exterior of the cast iron tub was sanded, then it was primed with rustoleum, after which the tub was painted with a flat grey paint and finished with sealant. The shower was restored by a nearby company and they've managed to give it a fresh finish while still preserving and vintage beauty. This is how you can restore your bathroom without spending too much. Maybe Andi and Dean could teach you some tricks for the rooms as well.{found on apartmenttherapy}

Unusually modern country house

Posted: 04 Oct 2011 05:00 AM PDT

Just because you hear the words country house it doesn't mean you should expect something traditional or rustic. Here's an example that will show you that country houses can also be modern and quite surprising. This particular house in a two-storey structure located in a quiet area where you wouldn't normally expect such a spectacular interior design.

Unusually modern country house

The entire house has been very functionally divided. There are no corridors or dead spaces where usually nothing can be done. Every little inch has been integrated into a dynamic design. As for the colors used, they are numerous but very beautifully combined in a harmonious composition. The neutral tones of white and gray are always complemented by colorful decorations. I really like the colorful decorative pillows and the black and white rug. They add dynamism and color to the décor.

It's just another perspective. The master bedroom is also opened to an outdoor terrace with beautiful expansive views. The large floor-to-ceiling glass doors allow the users to admire the nature from inside. If you look closely you'll that every little object has been carefully selected to complete the entire image. Contemporary compact residence by Ze Arquitectura

Posted: 04 Oct 2011 04:08 AM PDT

This contemporary compact residence is located in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. It was a project designed by Ze Arquitectura and it's a very functional house. The process began by searching for a central backyard that would later become the background for all the interior spaces. The owners wanted to be able to enjoy a tranquil and pleasant view from their bedrooms so the backyard was an important part of the plan.

The interior of the house is very functionally divided. On the first level were all the public spaces. Here are the vestibule, a double height living and dining room, a library, the kitchen a family room and a wood workshop. This way all the public spaces were gathered in one place and the users don't have to joggle between two levels during the day.

This is a more quiet area, a place where the owners usually come to relax, sleep or have some alone time. Throughout the whole house there are hardwood and marble floors as well as marble details on some walls and on the chimney. Marble stones were also use on the façade. There's also an outdoor pool linked to the house.{found on contemporits}

Funny Decorative DIY Pumpkins

Posted: 04 Oct 2011 03:50 AM PDT

Stockings can be found in different colors and various patterns. Perhaps nobody can think of other uses of this type of clothing the covering our feet but it seems that somebody did it.

Funny Decorative DIY Pumpkins

Once I have seen this funny DIY project I reminded of one of my colleagues from work who has a passion for stockings. She is a kind of collector. Each time she comes in a store which sells this type of clothing she searches for new and new patterns. She told me that she does not know the number of her pairs anymore, the colors or the various patterns that she managed to collect any more. Indeed each time she wore a pair of stockings we were watching her new patterns. We became admirers of her ingenious collection.

Perhaps if she can give up some pairs she can create some unique and gorgeous decorative DIY pumpkins for a special Halloween décor. Besides the perfect pumpkins all she needs are some patterned tights/stockings, scissors and rubber bands.

Now she can follow the easy instructions and the gorgeous pumpkins will be ready immediately.
