Posted: 30 Sep 2011 11:07 AM PDT If you have been looking for a simple and funny clock for your kid’ s room, you’d better stop looking. I am sure you will find this Singing Clock “Farmyard” just adorable. The case of the clock is made of wood and the inside is perfect for small children who can’t read the time and clock. What is really funny about this clock are not just the pictures of animals displayed instead of the numbers on the clock screen. It’s the funny sounds it makes when it is supposed to tell the time. I mean when it’s five o’clock for example and there’s a dog picture instead of number ten on the display, you will hear a dog barking. There are only farm animals on the clock display and the sounds are recorded from real animals from a real farm. This clock can be really fun, but also helpful for the small children and they will soon associate animal sounds with their daily activities. For example your kid it’s time for a nap right after the cow moos or it’s his breakfast time when the cat is heard. The price of the product is £ 54.90. Posted: 30 Sep 2011 10:29 AM PDT When I watch old movies I find myself looking in a nostalgic way at the old train station lamps that worked on gas and spread a blurry light around. I don’t know why I find this very romantic and nice, even though I am a modern person and I really enjoy all the benefits of modern technology. But I happen to like these lamps, both because they look so old-fashioned and nice and also because the shape and contour of the lamps is elegant and stylish even today. That is why this Nickel Station Table Lamp caught my attention. The table lamp you can see here borrows something from the design of the old gas lamps in the railway stations, but they add something else that makes them appropriate in a modern home: the shiny finish and the nice nickel touch, plus the fact that it is small and elegant and works on an economic light bulb, too. You can purchase the item for $129. Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Nickel Station Table Lamp |
Posted: 30 Sep 2011 10:15 AM PDT When it comes to furniture there is an infinity of options. Most of them can be split into traditional and modern or into simple and complex. But sometimes we feel the need to have something in between, something that is simple and yet striking. This particular chair is just that. The chair was designed by Xavier Pauchard and it's a very versatile piece of furniture. It's available in a variety of different finishes both for indoor and outdoor. The dimensions of the chair are H850 × W450 × D460 mm and it weights 4.4 kg. Because of their design the chair are stackable and when not used they take less spaces and they are easier to store. There are three outdoor finishes to choose from: the Cataphoresis, Galvanized not varnished and Galvanized varnished. There are also some indoor finishes, like raw steel glossy varnish, raw steel matt varnish or simple paint. You can also opt for leather seating that can be either black or burgundy. This particular type of chairs can be used for example in the dining room as they are comfortable and have a simple and yet stylish design. They would also be a very beautiful choice for the outdoor space like terraces or decks. In case you need some extra comfort you can add a soft cushion on top.The price it’s available on request. Posted: 30 Sep 2011 09:59 AM PDT I think every person is unique and that is why they should have unique things, things that make them particular and not similar to millions of other people. That is why I prefer personalized items and also hand made items. That is because when you make an object by hand it is impossible to have it made exactly the same as another one and also the artist (every person that makes a beautiful thing by hand can be considered an artist) leaves his or her own print on it. This gorgeous Belle Rug from Maude Decor is the best illustration of my belief. You can’t simply find a similar item, something as spectacular and extraordinary as this. This is a canvas rug and it is offered by Maude Decor. It looks great and is called “Belle” because this word means “beautiful” in French. Oh, and it refers to something or someone that is feminine. The rug has a beautiful dahlia painted on it and belongs to a limited edition series, since only twenty such rugs are made with this model. It does come with a certificate of authenticity and is already signed by the author and dated. So if you are interested in purchasing such a rug, you should contact the manufacturer. Rememberence coffee table by Mitch Steinmetz Posted: 30 Sep 2011 09:39 AM PDT Remember how we talked a while ago about a coffee table shaped like a photo album? Back then it was only a prototype in its early stages. Now it became a real thing and you can take it in your homes. It's called Rememberence and it was designed by Mitch Steinmetz. The piece is more than just another cool coffee table with a strange design. It's the central piece of the living room and it's a subject for conversation, gathering and storage. The Rememberence coffee table is made of wood and stainless steel with denim cloth and it has a very realistic look. It look like a giant photo album and you can even open the first page and find a storage space where you can put all your favorite items, where you can store your memories. Remeberence stores your old memories while also helping you create new ones.
The dimensions of this beautiful piece are 27.94 cm x 90.4875 cm x 67.6275 cm. It's definitely an unusual piece and it will instantly become a central point of attention. I find the design very ingenious and it's one of favorites. I would definitely like to have one in my home. Unfortunately I still have no information about the price but we will probably hear about it again soon. Expansive house in LA by McClean Design Posted: 30 Sep 2011 09:14 AM PDT This incredibly beautiful house that you see here occupies 7.000 sq ft and it's located in Sunset Strip, Los Angeles. The house was designed by McClean Design and it's one of those properties where the location chose the design and not vice-versa. Because of the incredibly beautiful views available from all areas, the house needed to take advantage of its location. That's why the glass walls were inserted into the design. The house is not a compact structure. It's divided in two by water fixtures and by the pool. This is quite unusual, not to say unique. However, it's not such a radical idea when you think at the functionality of its design. The pool was an important element in its house's design and so it was placed in the middle. The other very important element were the views.
The water begins at the driveway with a water wall around which the entry sequence is wrapped. On the main level is the pool and below that is a spa. Then the water continues its journey through a 75-foot-long lap pool which runs over the slope and into the view. It's a dramatic and breath-taking detail. In order to enter the house you have to walk on a glass bridge situated over a pool. On one side of the pool are the master bedroom and study while the living areas are on the other. Besides these, there's also a media room, several guestrooms and a four car garage. The overall design is contemporary, with simple but striking lines and exquisite decoration.{found on hd and here} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Expansive house in LA by McClean Design |
Unique Riva Loft Florence by Claudio Nardi Architects Posted: 30 Sep 2011 07:48 AM PDT Castles have always been the symbol for the classic fairy tales. At the end of the story it is said that the prince and his beautiful princess have long lived in their impressive castle. Castles can be very glamorous and attractive or can be hidden in the dark and extremely mysterious.Riva Loft Florence represents a boutique hotel of 8,600 square foot surface that is located in Florence, Italy and designed by Claudio Nardi Architects. It consists of eight studios, each with its own entrance.
The fascinating thing about them is that they all are unique and have a different size from 30 to 100 square meters. Their form and layout are also various. Some of them have private terraces, opening directly into to the garden or can offer you panoramic views toward Parco or Brunelleschi's Cupola. Riva Loft Florence is a brick and stone building which keeps the same structure for its interiors. These interiors look like those of an old castle, the difference is that some of them are filled with modern furniture which contrasts the structure and design of the walls. There are also classic pieces of furniture but you can see that everything here is a mix of styles and different perspectives of viewing things and life. All these studios can be booked the whole year from € 210 to € 550, depending on their size. The elegant Allure cocktail table Posted: 30 Sep 2011 07:20 AM PDT With its delicate and elegant shape, the Allure table deserves its name since this is the word to better describe it. It has a very beautiful shape, with an arched base composed of three criss-crossed elements. The base is crafted from walnut veneers and the best plywood solids. So despite its shape it's stable and durable. The glass top is the perfect choice to complete the whole design. The glass top has a strange shape, it's oval, more like a curved triangle. It's made of tempered glass and stainless steel pucks. The dimensions of this beautiful cocktail table are 34w 34d 18h. It would be a very elegant appearance in the living room where it could be used as a multi-functional table. It's a very beautiful alternative to the usual coffee table. The base has a beautiful silver finish that might make you think it's made of metal when it's actually wood. The color goes very nicely with the transparent glass top. The Allure cocktail table can be purchased for $249.00. The price doesn't include the delivery charge. As for the care instructions, they are basically the same as for any wooden piece of furniture. It needs to be wiped dry and the top can be cleaned with cleaning products that are specially made for this material. Posted: 30 Sep 2011 05:00 AM PDT The first thing that anyone would notice when visiting this house is the harmony and serenity of the interior décor. Everything is pastel and the décor is very relaxing. You'll notice the almost perfect symmetry throughout the entire house. The walls are in general white and the furniture was purchased in London. In one of the rooms there's a beautiful fireplace surrounded by a cozy seating area overlooking the garden. This could also be used as a reading corner. The marble table brings everything together. In the garden there's a very beautiful fountain made by the owner from river rocks. The sound of the water is very relaxing and calming.
Outside there's also a swimming pool. A trail of ivy and lavender leads to the pool, with a very beautiful mountain landscape in the background. As for the rest of the house, there's also a spacious dining room with natural fiber carpets made by Juani Marchan and elegant chairs brought from France. The kitchen is also very elegant, with beautiful tiles and chairs dating back to the 20s. Throughout the whole house, stylish carpets bring everything together, forming a symmetrical and harmonious décor. Surprisingly, the master bathroom is the largest room of the house. It's the owner who wanted it like that. The carpets are present there too.{found on nuevo-estilo} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Harmonious home in Marbella |
Swedish summer retreat by LASC Studio Posted: 30 Sep 2011 04:26 AM PDT This beautiful and lovely summer house is located in Österlen, Sweden and it sits on a 105 sqm plot. It was designed and built by LASC Studio and it was completed in 2009. Österlen is a beautiful Swedish summer retreat. The house is a conversion of an abandoned farmhouse. Even though this is a conversion, the new summer house is a contemporary of nostalgia and contemporary elements. The entire house is filled with light and it's surrounded by nature. Unlike most houses from that area that are robust and traditional, this one is airy and it allows a beautiful connection between indoor-outdoor spaces. The clients wanted to preserve the basic traditional features but they also wanted to bb able to enjoy nature indoors so several changes had to made, like the large windows for example.
During the conversion, some of the elements were preserved, like the original floors and some of the windows, while two thirds of the interior walls had to be torn down. Large windows openings were also inserted. The materials used in the process were limited at concrete, pine wood and smooth white plaster. The colors used are pale and mostly neutral, never bright. This is a simple and yet luxurious summer house that managed to combine traditional with functionality. The direct connection to nature was the elements that made it all possible.{found on archdaily and pics by Stamers Kontor} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Swedish summer retreat by LASC Studio |
