Theatrical London property for sale Posted: 27 Sep 2011 10:21 AM PDT I think most of you would agree that this is a very dramatic-looking house. The interior design has a theatrical touch that can't go unnoticed. Of course, it's a classic design with many traditional elements. The properly is located on Oakley Street, London and it's a very elegant five-storey house that could become a very nice family residence. The house features 4 bedrooms, 4 receptions, 2 ensuite bedrooms, 2 ensuite shower rooms, a designer kitchen, 2 studies,a gym, a staff bedroom and exquisite furniture all over the place.
As you enter there's a very impressive entrance hall that immediately raises the bar and makes you think that this is no ordinary house. There's also a second study, as elegant as the first one. Posted: 27 Sep 2011 09:28 AM PDT As you first loom at these chairs, you don't really understand the idea behind their design. In fact it's very simple. These Boxy chairs have been created as a compact piece of furniture that would be easy to store since it takes less space and that would also incorporate a functional storage space so that it wouldn't be completely useless when not sued as a chair. The idea is that this structure can easily change its shape and structure and it's a multi-functional piece. All you have to do is play a little with the parts and learn how the mechanisms work. You can learn more from the pictures that show exactly what you need to do in order to change the shape of the chair.
The chair is basically made of two units. There's the square-shaped unit that is also the base for the chair. The other one is the chair itself that is basically a simple curved piece that can be removed, rotated and inserted back on. This way you can turn the chair into a recliner or into a storage box. The Boxy Chairs have been designed by Mladen Milosevic & Vuk Dragovic and they come either in full black or in a combination of grey and turquoise. They are a great piece not only for small homes but for any type of home as they are both chic and functional.{found on yanko} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Compact Boxy Chairs |
A Chic House with a Touch of Scandinavia Posted: 27 Sep 2011 08:45 AM PDT This chic house that you see here seems pretty modern and you would be surprised to find out that it actually dates back to 1902. It's a 210 sq m home and it's located in Zeeland. It's actually not just a home but a villa. You'll probably notice that the interior design reminds a lot of the Scandinavian style. The interior is clean and simple, the colors and bright and there's a very warm feeling in there. The walls and ceilings are completely white throughout the whole house and so is the floor in most of the rooms. An exception in this sense would be the kitchen for example that has brown tiles in different tones.
The living/dining room is rather simple, with a table o one side surrounded by yellow chairs and a fireplace nearby. As for the decorations, some of them are animal trophies that the owner brought back from his hunting trips. The deer head that hangs above the cabinet in the living room is quite impressive and a little intimidating as it's facing the dining room table. I wouldn't eat deer in there if I were the owner. The rest of the décor is simple and the furniture is mostly neutral. The decorations bring some color but the white is still the dominating color tone.{found on femina} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to A Chic House with a Touch of Scandinavia |
Apartment turned into a stylish loft by Triptique Posted: 27 Sep 2011 08:28 AM PDT This apartment might be smaller than your dream home, but inside there;s a very surprising and beautiful image awaiting you. The apartment is located in the Jardins areas in downtown Sao Paulo. If we would have to be very specific, we shouldn’t call this place an apartment. It’s actually more like a loft. That’s because the owners didn’t really like the original structure and decided to make some changes. They wanted a more modern and airy place to call home so the apartment suffered a total make-over. The couple that owns this place also owns the Dbox company, a design company that sells restored vintage furniture. So they had an eye for the design that they wanted.
In order to make this place the perfect home, they had to first tare down the walls. This is how they obtained the loft-like home. They also asked decorator Francisco Calio to take over the interior design. Together, they’ve managed to turn a 70-century apartment into the modern and bold loft you see now. The interior design is, of course, modern and with lots of interesting and surprising details and decorations. It’s a stylish and elegant place, with beautiful color contrasts. However, this place is also comfy, cozy and inviting, just how a home should be like. It was a daring project, not simple, but in the end everything turned out very beautiful.{found on vartnyahem} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Apartment turned into a stylish loft by Triptique |

Functionally divided house in Tokyo by Upsetters Architects Posted: 27 Sep 2011 04:20 AM PDT This striking contemporary building was designed and built by Upsetters Architects and it's located in Tokyo, Japan. The house was completed in 2011 and it sits on a 96.69 sq m plot. It was designed as a single family home for a couple and their daughter. Since a family needs to be flexible, so does the house. So this one needed to be flexible and to be able to change its configuration as the family's daughter grows older. As a result, the interior of the house was divided into twp separate spaces. There's an area for the whole family and another one for the daughter to grow up in. It's probably a good idea to do that from the beginning. This way you won't be forced to make changes later.
The part of the house designed for the daughter contains a mezzanine room that's currently used by the couple as a working area. Since she's only entered preschool, this doesn't represent a problem now. As she grows older the working space will have to be moves so as not to interfere with her needs and so that the parents won't stay in her way. I think it's a very good thing that the parents are conscious of that and willing to do something about it.The functional division of the house is very smart and it's meant to serve the family on a long period of time. It's a house built to last.
