| Custom made office chair with Ferrari F360 Challenge parts Posted: 19 Sep 2011 11:33 AM PDT Some cars have really comfortable seats and sometimes we wish we could detach them and turn them into an office chair. This used to be a dream but recently it became reality. Meet the Ferrari F360 Challenge Carbon Fiber Office Chair. It's an office chair featuring a shell made entirely of carbon fiber. As you might have guessed, this chair is made from an actual seat taken from a Ferrari. It can be ordered in leather, even though most of the original pieces come in Nomex fabric version.
The chair has slots for both shoulder, lap and center harnesses. The frame can be ordered in a color of your choice. Since the chair is made from authentic Ferrari pieces, every one of them is unique. The metal base and frame of the chair are painted separately with a deep, high gloss metallic paint. Here you can choose a custom color and send a paint sample or paint code. If not, there are a few metallic silver and metallic black bases in stock for rush orders.
The chair features sculpted shift levers at the side of the seat that can control the synchro-tilt mechanism and seat height. It also has adjustable rotating pivot arms and height. In order to obtain the chair that you see here, the seat is first disassembled, the leather is cleaned and conditioned and the unnecessary hardware is removed. Then a custom bracket is created to place the seat in the optimal position.
All the seats come from a pre-owned vehicle so some wear on the seat is to be expected. That's why the company has come up with a rating system to let the costumers know the exact condition of the chair.Available for $10,000. | Posted: 19 Sep 2011 10:49 AM PDT This modern and colorful residence was designed and built by 57Studio in collaboration with Felipe Zamora, Francisco Sass0 and Roberto Ibaceta. It sits on a 1,658 Sq Ft site and it was completed in 2008. The house is located in Santiago, Chile. What you see here was not a completely new construction but an expansion of a 1960's single unit house. It was transformed into a hairdresser shop and residence for the owners, a young entrepreneur couple.
The two structures, the hairdresser shop and the residence, are separated and they were relocated according to their relation to the street. The color was also used to differentiate the two structures. The hairdresser shop is brown geometrical structure oriented towards the street while the house is a red cube oriented towards the backyard.
The two structures are covered with fiber reinforced concrete (FRC) panels, in modules that optimize their industrial format. There are also several glass features, allowing more natural light to get inside. There's also a large window between the two levels of the residence. Overall, this combination of two different modules forms a harmonious structure. They were cleverly divided both by the use of walls and color. This makes the building stand out and it also gives it the modern look that the owners were trying to achieve. The interior is equally elegant and modern.{pics by Luly Pozo, Mauricio Fuertes and found on archdaily} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Modern and colorful residence |

And usually, when the family is together for the weekend inside a house with full cellars (or not), it’s time for the home baked pie. It’s good and tasty even if the recipe is very different depending on the cook. Any way, no matter when you eat it and where, a hearty slice of pie is always welcomed. | Posted: 19 Sep 2011 09:14 AM PDT They key to having a comfortable and inviting home is not just about the people that live inside but also about the furniture that they choose and the décor they create. There are several ways of creating such an environment. Let's start with the sofa, that is usually one of the most important pieces of furniture in the house. The sofa needs to reflect the entire house or at least the room it is in. It needs to be both comfortable to sit on and good-looking, since it's usually part of the living room which is a public space.
One such sofa that respects those criteria is the Toledo sofa. It's a very good-looking piece of furniture that has a classical design, both elegant and cozy. | Posted: 19 Sep 2011 08:29 AM PDT People have finally realized they are the ones damaging the environment the most, so some of them have returned to nature, to using nature’ s gifts. One of them is sunlight. It is for free and it ensures an ecological and totally “green” energy. One of the applications that uses solar energy is Solatube Solar Star Attic Fan. It is an attic fan that uses solar energy to eliminate moisture and mold from the attic and this way make your house safer and drier.
It uses an advanced technology and is environmentally friendly and it uses the energy provided by the sun for free. It is round in shape and has a square solar panel in the middle that makes it possible to collect sunlight and turn it into electricity that starts the fan. The fan is a normal one that, once activated, takes out the steam and the moisture, leaving a totally secure and dry environment behind. The fan is very quiet and does not need any electricity to work, so you can use it even in remote areas like the mountains. Visit the web site for more information and the phone number of the producer.{more info here} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Solatube Solar Star Attic Fan |
| An Ideal Small Loft Interior Design Posted: 19 Sep 2011 08:01 AM PDT Every house has its advantages and reveals the personality of the owner. The 58 m 2 loft in the picture can be characterized through a key word and that is the division in two heights that transforms the entire place into a unique home. The elements that make the difference are, besides the height of the roof, the stairs and the right mix of colors; all these contribute to the charming atmosphere of this distinct space.
The two floors are connected by a spiral design that stands out for its refined style; the stairs not only provide the way to the next floor, but they also allow the entrance of natural light. In a generally white atmosphere, characterized by elegance and simplicity, the orange shades from the kitchen and not only animate the place and offer that touch, which gives personality and charm.
The black and white paintings and the decorative objects have their well defined place, that of highlighting the beauty and of completing the elegant atmosphere that reigns everywhere in this house.
The orange furniture from the kitchen, the carpet and the pillows in the living match perfectly with the whiteness of the place; the wide windows and the white furniture give the impression of a wider space and create a serene space which seem to exist in order to relax people. The materials used prove quality and good taste. Every room seems to be the expression of comfort and elegance we all want.{found on micasarevista} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to An Ideal Small Loft Interior Design |
| Traditional Norwegian boat house converted into summer house Posted: 19 Sep 2011 07:15 AM PDT When you say or hear the word "boathouse" you probably think either at a boat converted into a home or at a house shaped like a boat. Well, neither of these variants are correct in this case. This house is located in More og Romsdal, Norway. It was designed and built by TYIN tegnestue and the construction was completed in 2011. The name refers to traditional Norwegian boathouses that have been used to store boats and fishing gear. However, today it's not the case anymore.
Most of these boathouses are now used as summer houses. They have been converted into cozy homes and got a new use. The one you see here is a new construction. The original boathouse that use to be on this site was in very bad shape when the owners found it and it had to be torn down. However, they've decided to preserve the idea and to build a new, similar structure.
Most of the materials from the old house were used to build the new one. Some windows from the clients other farmhouse were also reused in this project. The final result is what you see here. An old boathouse that inspired a new construction. The house is currently used by the owner as a getaway and a summer house.{pics by Pasi Aalto and found on archdaily} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Traditional Norwegian boat house converted into summer house |
| Simple and artistic timber end table Posted: 19 Sep 2011 06:21 AM PDT Part of the Timber Occasional Collection, the Timber end table is a very precious piece of furniture, even though it might not look like one. I personally like this table very much and I think that it's a very beautiful piece of furniture reflecting the artistic side of the material and telling a beautiful story.
The table is made out of resin which is cast from reclaimed old oak beams from the Baguio region of the Philippines. The wood use to build this item was originally used as railroad tracks on a route passing through Manila. The wood that once was moldy and forgot by everyone now goes through a multi-step process that is used to achieve the luster that you see in the pictures. Then it's covered with hand-painted silver and authentic silver leaf. The finishes are applied by hand by skilled artisans. Finally, in order to obtain the antique look, the table is treated with hand-rubbed oil. In the same collection there's also a timber coffee table that goes through the same process. The only difference is the final design. They both look very beautiful and would make a great choice for a stylish antique room. The dimensions of the end table are 44"D x 44"W x 14.75"H and the coffee table measures 22"D x 22"W x 22"H.Available for $399. | 5 bedroom interior décor ideas Posted: 19 Sep 2011 05:47 AM PDT The bedroom is one of the most important rooms of the house and it influences your day to day life. So it's important to choose the right décor. Here are 5 ideas that might help you make up your mind. 1. The romantic bedroom
This is one of the most popular décor ideas. In order to create a romantic décor in your bedroom you need to opt for furniture with curved and feminine lines that in the same time inspires elegance. The nightstands with curved legs are a very common choice. As for the bed, you can opt for a forged steel version that will offer you the opportunity to add more romantic elements. Also, the headboard would be a very nice choice. Don't forget the curved lines. Use floral patterns for the bedding and pastel colors for the walls.
2. The glamour bedroom
The best word to describe this style would be opulence. In order to obtain such a look you need to use luxurious materials and bright accents. An easy choice would be to adopt the baroque style that already has a busy look, with a lot of decorations and elegant curved lines. The furniture needs to look massive, oversized. Use decorative pillows on the bed and opt for metallic colors and bright finishes. As for the lighting system, use a chandelier. The colors need to be dramatic: black, grey, gold and silver. 3. The contemporary bedroom
Such a décor allows you to opt for furniture with playful and nonconformist looks. Use bright colors and organic shapes. The lighting fixtures need to be abstract and the prints should be vibrant, since they are the one that set the tone and atmosphere. Use multiple decorative pillows, in different colors and combine them. The key is to get out of the ordinary. If you have the space, use a chaise-lounge. 4. The classical bedroom
If you like simple but elegant lines and décor this is the perfect choice for you. Such a décor is created using natural, refined and equilibrated elements. The furniture needs to be, first of all, simple and made of massive wood, with curved lines and dark finishes. You also need a chandelier and some imposing lamps. You can also opt for a big mirror, with a wide frame and floral motifs. The colors used in general are tones of brown, accentuated by golden tones. 5. The rustic bedroom
In order to obtain such a bedroom you just need to follow a few rules. First of all, use a lot of wood. Use wooden floors, covered by a rustic rug with traditional motifs or a fur skin rug. For the bed, use floral or checkers patterns. Add decorative elements such as vases filled with flowers or pine cones. If you have the space you can also add a swing and a cozy blanket.{pic 1,2,3,4 and 5} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to 5 bedroom interior décor ideas |
