Posted: 16 Sep 2011 10:38 AM PDT Combining functional with style, this collection of barrel baskets is the perfect solution for adding some extra storage in your house or even in a protected garden. Because the barrels are so tall, they make a perfect place to store extra wrapping paper rolls or bouquets of reed for example, but they can be used to store all sorts of objects. They are called White Dipped Barrel Baskets for a very good reason. The bottom of the baskets has been dipped in white paint, thus creating the contrasting design you see here. In some cultures and societies across the world, dipping the baskets in a paint-like solution used to be a way of making them waterlight. Even though this is not the case, these baskets still look stylish.
The baskets come as a set of three and each one of them has different dimensions. The smaller version is 9.25″-14″dia. x 10.75″-15.25″h, the medium one is 11.75″dia. x 12.75″h and there's also a large version, measuring 14″dia. x 15.25″h. They can be bought for $59.00.The same company also offers White Dipped Cylinder Baskets and White Dipped Square Baskets or, if you prefer something simpler and more traditional, you can choose the Rectangular Storage Nesting Baskets. Choose one collection or combine them according to your needs. Tasteful contemporary pink kitchen design Posted: 16 Sep 2011 09:06 AM PDT Pink is usually the little girl's favorite color. They dream to become a princess and to live in a pink castle. Pink is also a flashy color and it's not perceived as an appropriate choice for indoor décors. However, we found a very beautiful and pleasant kitchen that proves us wrong. This modern kitchen has been decorated using a lot of pink elements. At first you might say it's ostentatious and not elegant or stylish. First take a look at the pictures and I'm sure you'll change your mind. The kitchen features and pink walls, decorated with wallpaper and edgy paintings. I personally like the white and pink flag painted on one of the walls very much.
Moreover, the kitchen has been furnished with modern and stylish black and pink bar stools, a very beautiful combination. In fact, all the colors that have been chosen work very well together and form a harmonious and inviting interior décor. The overall design is pleasant and tasteful. The kitchen also has floor to ceiling glass doors that let the natural light come in. Also, the kitchen is linked to an outdoor terrace. A table for six sits near the glass doors, allowing a romantic and stylish dinner experience. So, as you can see, pink is not just the color pf little princess girls. It's also the color of passion and it can create a very elegant, modern and chic décor.{found on 1st-option} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Tasteful contemporary pink kitchen design |
Cute Macramé Lighting Shade by Satelight Posted: 16 Sep 2011 07:32 AM PDT Macramé is a material that can help you create wonderful artistic designs for your house decorations, or even clothes. Many years ago, I used to know how to create such things. My mother and grandmother were the persons that showed me how I can use my own hands and imagination and create splendid things .Unfortunately all these decorative pieces are out fashion nowadays although they are very expensive outside our country. This cute Macramé Lighting Shade designed by Aussie company Satelight reminded me of all these things. Its diffuser woven from nylon rope creates a lovely ambiance .It is lamp shade that is perfect for small spaces as it creates a romantic atmosphere. The interesting thing about this Weaver light shade line is that is hand crafted by a macramé artist. It is an original and unique product which can become very precious to you.
If you need to match it with certain interiors you must know that the Weaver macramé shade designs are available in black and red and measure 550mm in height and 270mm in diameter. The Home Office collection by Philippe Coudray Posted: 16 Sep 2011 05:59 AM PDT The Home Office collection is a modern interpretation of basic furniture elements. It's composed of various seats and desks featuring Italian structures and signed by Ares Line and Della Rovere. Here are the component pieces of this collection: “Fake love” & Don’t disturb I’m dreaming” These are two modern creations with an uncommon design. The pieces are designed to be used as seating units. They have a round shape and a central dome-like structure. The prints are rather abstract and they are what inspired the names of these products.
Sofa with one armrest with prints “En attendant le metro”, “grafiti time” & “drab life” This sofa features a more traditional shape. Nevertheless, the prints are not at all traditional. They are bold and modern and similar to the ones from the “Fake love” & Don’t disturb I’m dreaming” units. Because the sofa only has one armrest, you can use two pieces to form a larger and complete sofa. Armchair Millenium with prints “Fake love” & “graffiti time” This is basically a common office chair, with swivel and adjustable height. The only distinguishable feature is again, the eye-catching print. It's a sturdy, durable and, of course, very comfortable chair. Here's another office chair, this time featuring a more feminine design. It has the same particularities as the other office chair, except that the back is lower and the armrests are part of the seat structure. Armchair Eura with print “En attendant le metro” This is a more unusual chair. If you could somehow ignore the wacky print, you'll see that it's actually a very simple design. It could be used wither as a dining chair, or even as an office chair replacement. Armchair Mya with print “Don’t disturb…I’am dreaming” If the designs showed earlier didn't impress you, take a loom at this one. It has an egg-shaped seat with a carved part in the middle. It could also be used as an office chair or simply as an extra seat in the living room. Armchair Bridge with print “Crosses” & “flying away” Now it's time for a more comfortable design. This particular armchair is a mix of different geometrical shapes put together to form a compact and very cozy armchair. The print seems to be a little more quiet time, even artistic. Table Zero (design by Karim Rashid) If the traditional table designs don't satisfy you anymore, try this one, designed by Karim Rashid. Like most of his creations, this one has a fluid, artistic design. It's white, with the exception of the top that features similar prints. Armchair Millenium with print “Mythologie” and Armchairs Smart and Jolly with print “Fables” This is the same Millenium office chair that you've seen earlier, but with a different print. It's the same for the Smart and Jolly chairs that this time feature fun and colorful animal-inspired prints.{found on 6a3a} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to The Home Office collection by Philippe Coudray |
Posted: 16 Sep 2011 05:13 AM PDT This unusual chair was designed by Harry Bertoia. The chair has a beautiful design, a modern adaptation of the traditional shape. The design is artistic and modern in the same time. It has a steel frame so it's sturdy and durable, ready to be used for many years to come. It has a comfy upholstered seat. However, none of these elements are the details that make the piece stand out. The eye-catching elements would be the webbed steel wire that forms the back structure. It's an edgy design, but this is what you get from an Italian-born sculptor. Harry Bertoia was also a member of the faculty of the Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Even though the design of this particular chair seems so different than the thers, it wasn't a completely original creation. The chair appeared one year after Charles Eames' wire chair. So the base was set by someone else. This doesn't mean that anything else that slightly resembles that design is not original.
On the contrary, the ability of making something that already exists seem new is admirable. Both designs use the same materials. However the designs are completely different. So a common concept can result in completely different materializations. Because of its simple yet striking design, this chair could be easily integrated in any modern décor. Huge Basket Lights by David Trubridge Posted: 15 Sep 2011 11:13 PM PDT Basket ball proved to be one of my favorite sports in high school. Although I am a tiny person I was quite good of steeling my adversary's ball and keeping it as long as I could. Unfortunately, my small stature did not help too much to score many goals. The basket was too high for but this thing did not stop me from practicing this sport. I was eve appreciated by my mates who were amazed by my speed. If we are to speak about baskets we will discover that there many sorts of these items. There are wood baskets for storing all sorts of aliments, baskets for laundry, baskets that are used for basketball. What would you say about basket lights?
There are some huge Basket Lights which were designed by the New Zeeland designer David Trubridge. They have an interesting shape and look like some huge tears or drops of rain. These suspended Basket Lights are perfect for high buildings as they can assure them the necessary space to accommodate them. They were inspired by a Maori creation myth according to which the gods gave to humans three baskets containing the knowledge they needed to live on Earth. David Trubridge' Basket Lights seem to keep the same number of baskets which each of them has a different design but keeps the same shape.{found on contemporist} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Huge Basket Lights by David Trubridge |
