Contemporary Pitfire Pizza Interior Restaurant by Bestor Architecture Posted: 14 Sep 2011 11:10 AM PDT The beautiful restaurant that you see now wasn't always as friendly and attractive as it is now. It once was a dark and shady pizza parlor. In 2009, a team of architects formed by Barbara Bestor (Principal), Cathy Johnson (Project Architect), John Colter (Senior Designer), Urban Organics Landscape Design, Nicholas Tan and Gordon Polon Engineering worked at this project and managed to turn the place into a contemporary pizza restaurant that looks nothing like the old one. In order to achieve this look, the architects had to strip down all the layers that have applied on the walls and to expose the original structure. The exterior also got new skylights and cuts into the structure that bring natural light inside. The restaurant opens up to the street, welcoming costumers.
On the inside, the background elements are wrapped in different materials. For example, the walls are covered with plywood, the ceilings are wrapped in kraft paper and the counters are in marble. The interior is also filled with custom furniture and strong primary colors that create a very friendly atmosphere. Moreover, there is also a mini garden split by a huge glass sliding wall. The restaurant is extremely child friendly so it would be the perfect place to have dinner with the whole family. It's a perfect example of how you can transform an old and dark place into a contemporary and friendly place, and this can be applied for private areas as well. Eye Catching Melting Chair by Philipp Aduatz Posted: 14 Sep 2011 07:48 AM PDT Sometimes when you feel tired you may have a nice sensation of melting, the moment to sit on a chair. Its comfort and your moment of relaxation transform you into a liquid like person. Nothing compares with a few moments of rest after a hard working day. For those who work standing all the time these moments become preciousless. My mother is such a person who works all day long standing. This type of work caused her real problems for her feet and affected her circulation. I remember the moments when she came home and she needed badly a few hours of rest. If you have not experienced such a melting sensation yet, the view of this limited edition eye catching Melting Chair designed by Philipp Aduatz will create you such a feeling. Actually it may cause some confusion because its interesting design creates the image of a piece of furniture which is somewhere between solid and liquid. It is made of a fiber glass reinforced polymer that takes on a mirrored appearance due to a special silver coating and scratch resistant polyurethane lacquer. The Melting Chair is an elegant piece of furniture that will definitely become the focal point in your house for every guest who will pay you a visit. Posted: 14 Sep 2011 06:10 AM PDT Today we would like to present you three houses that cost $1.25 million each. Everyone of them present amazing features and are currently for sale. They are all different, but also share some similarities, such as huge windows, big rooms and a soft, neutral color palette. The first one is situated in a rural area, in Sedona, Arizona. Siting on a 2,735sqf plot this lovely house was built in 1998, incorporating rocks from the nearby creeks, reclaimed glass and Rocky Mountain cedar. This gorgeous home has a rustic feel due to the furnishings, tropical plants that surround the koi pool and vines that wind around the main space. You can find a lot of great features like a beautiful garden, hot tub, a fire pit and built-in bed on the roof.
Our second choice is a gorgeous contemporary house situated in Kinderhook, New York. The house is very surprising because the exterior looks like a barn, but when you walk in you can see bleached beech floors, floating walls, open spaces and a lot of modern furniture. Moreover it features a 50-foot saltwater lap pool and a two-bedroom guesthouse. The last one is a superb traditional residence. Located in Portland, Oregon, this house was updated in 2010. It has a lot of its original details like the stained-glass windows, the molding and mantels. It houses six bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, a formal dining room, living area, kitchen, butler’s pantry and office. These 3 houses are all amazing and at the same price. Although they have different styles, each of them is unique in its own way. What do you think? Prepare you home for the next season with a bohemian décor Posted: 14 Sep 2011 05:40 AM PDT As we change cloths whenever a new season comes along, so does our home. You probably don't realize it because you do it without thinking about it, but you make some drastic changes with each season. For example, during the summer season, you need lighter and happier materials and patterns. In the winter everything tends to be grey and fluffy. Here's an example of how you can prepare your home for the fall. The key is to choose neutral tones and natural color for the walls, ceiling and floor. You might not want to repaint the walls and ceiling 4 times a year so you should agree or a tone that suites all four seasons. Also, the large furniture pieces should share the same characteristics. What you can change each season all the smaller decorative items. For example, you can have some pillows, blankets, lamps, etc especially created for a particular time of the year.
For the fall, pastel colors are advised. You should also choose natural tones, like yellow, grey or contrasting combinations like grey and purple. The idea is to make your home welcoming, warm and cozy. You can also add some decorations that can be changed according to the season. For example, in the fall, you can add some leaves or choose leaves as a pattern for the pillows and blankets.{found on femina} Subscribe to Homedit's Feed to get constant updates of our Awesome Posts!© Homedit- Daily interior design ideas ! | Permalink to Prepare you home for the next season with a bohemian décor |
