The Wanders Ceramic Washbasin

Posted: 06 Sep 2011 11:15 AM PDT

When decorating and furnishing a house, people usually pay more attention to the larger rooms, like the living room, the bedroom or even the kitchen. When it comes to choosing furniture for the bathroom they think they'll just choose something and get over with it, since most designs are similar. However, most of them are wrong to think like that.

Even though there are fewer collections in this area, there are still plenty of stylish options for the bathroom. One very good example is the Wanders collection. It's called like that because it was designed by Marcel Wanders in 2011. The collection includes several modern designs for the bathroom. There's a very beautiful washbasin, a bathtub and several consoles. All the piece share in common the elegance pf the design. The designer plays with geometrical shapes, combining the softness of the oval with the strictness of the rectangle. The result is a very stylish and gentle silhouette.

Moreover, the consoles are probably the most impressive pieces of this collection. You can't overlook the exquisite details of the console table and the matching mirror. The ceramic countertop washbasins are an exquisite piece that would complement any bathroom. It would look very beautiful in a modern or contemporary décor, probably best in a simple or minimalist room. The combination of white, dark brown and red is very inspiring.

Unique graffiti apartment in Copenhagen

Posted: 06 Sep 2011 10:11 AM PDT

This apartment in Copenhagen might not look very special from the outside but the reality is that you couldn't be more surprised when you see the interior of this place. I can truly say that this is one of—a-kind apartment. The place belongs to graffiti artist Frederik Lassen Hesseldahl. It seems natural for an artist to bring his work at home. In this case, it meant decorating the walls with personalized graffiti images, painted by the owner himself.

He also had some help from a friend, also an artist, who painted a gorgeous black panther on one of the walls from the dining room. Most of the other graffiti paintings from the apartment are abstract images that don't really tell anything at first glimpse but that are very beautiful decorations for the apartment.

Besides the amazing graffiti paintings, the rest of the apartment is rather simple. The furniture is minimalist and only strictly necessary, without any unnecessary or strictly decorative items. In fact, when you think about it, there's not much you could do in addition to those gorgeous paintings.

And there's no need to do anything else because the colorful paintings are more than enough. The colors are very well chosen and they work beautifully together. This is the perfect example of how a plain and simple apartment can be turned into something really unique. You don't have to be an artist to do that, you just need to find one.{found on boligmagasinet}

Exclusive Hotel in Brussels – The Tenbosch House

Posted: 06 Sep 2011 07:20 AM PDT

Architect Patrice Lemeret had the task of transforming two nineteenth-century houses into one fabulous hotel. Ready for its final curtain call the Tenbosch House is now open and offers you seven rooms and suites that can be booked all year from €250/$360 per night.

Located in the central quartier of Ixelles in Brussels, Belgium, this amazing hotel is built in the architectural style of eclectic Art Nouveau. Moreover, the designers, Michel Penneman and Catharina Eklof selected mid century Scandinavian furnishings to make the hotel “a place of serenity”.

The architect had one demand from the owners, and this was to create a place “small enough to care, yet spacious enough to give you freedom and calm”. Being passionate for the architectural heritage of the city he restored the building’s façade and returned stucco moldings, brass and woodwork to their original condition.

The rooms have white walls that emphasize the feeling of a bigger space, and the dark hardwood floors that set off the gorgeous furnishings. Every piece of furniture is well placed on each suite so that it fits with the concept of a unique home. Furthermore each room has lovely, great features, such as the fireplace, interesting light fixtures and luxurious carpets.

The Tenbosch House is a majestic hotel where you can relax and rejuvenate. With its indoor swimming pool and Swedish sauna this place is a sanctuary to retreat to.

Posted: 06 Sep 2011 03:10 AM PDT

As Geometrix has accustomed us, we deal one more time with simplicity, elegance, modernity at the highest level. We discover the same taste for black and white paintings, black and white pieces of furniture, no matter we are talking about the living room or one of the bathrooms.

The kitchen makes the difference with its pleasant tones that you will definitely like, no matter your color preferences. Thanks to the special mood and to the fact that it is modernly equipped, it is inviting, no matter you want to drink a coffee with your best friend or cook something for your family, the welcoming air is defining. Even the bathroom keeps the same modern and simple air; the bedroom is the image of comfort, elegance and good taste.

The black and white tendency ensures simplicity, elegance and modernity specific for Geometrix. The paintings on the walls, the colorful flowers, the decorative objects, the lamps, the unique bedroom ceiling and the modern desk contribute to the  general atmosphere, with a specific note in the same pattern of elegance and comfort, even luxury. The warm tones, the very nice atmosphere make the entire space unique, creating another world.
