Stylish Mia Persian Rug

Posted: 26 Aug 2011 09:54 AM PDT

If you want to create a warm and cozy atmosphere in your home, a colorful silky rug is the perfect way to do it. These rugs are particularly appropriate because it’s crafted from quality materials and with a lot of attention to details. The rugs are handmade and this might not make them more colorful or puffy, but the difference is visible.

The rugs are hand tufted of pure wool and then luster washed for rich, mellow color and a silky feel. In fact, the rugs are so soft and cozy that they make you want to sleep of the ground. They are also yarn dryed for vibrant and lasting color. They don’t require much attention but you’ll still want to take good care of them, just to make sure you’ll be able to enjoy the cozyness as much as possible.

In terms of color, the rugs feature a central medallion surrounded by solid porcelain. They also have a wide floral border that creates the perfect contrast both in terms of color and pattern. The price for this type of rugs varies from EUR 146.17 to EUR 880.66. You can choose to use it with a rug pad that you need to buy separately, or to further document yourself about the way you can take care of these artisan made rugs correctly.

A wonderful country home in the heart of Val D’Orcia in Tuscany

Posted: 26 Aug 2011 05:40 AM PDT

The country side is an ideal place where you can spend unforgettable and relaxing moments. Here the warm rays of the sun, the fresh air and the silent atmosphere make you fill up with energy and good mood. The country side reminds me of the natural and healthy food that I used to find at my grandparents, the relaxing afternoons that I used to spend at behind the house where I could watch the beautiful garden. It is a place that makes you appreciate the work of land, the environment and respect the people who live here.

You may find all these things if you visit the rustic and peaceful Casa Fabbrini. It is a lovely place where you will be charmed by the beautiful surroundings and the relaxing moments that you can spend here.

Casa Fabbrini is a great renovated country guest house which is located in the centre of Val D'Orcia Tuscany, the province of Siena. Between 2007 and 2010 the Fabbrini Family renovated the old building which belongs to the 17th century. The original materials of the building were kept so that they seem to be the attraction point of this construction. Some modern items were also added which make of it a comfortable and relaxing place like some pieces of furniture or some floor and table lamps.

Casa Fabbrini is a place where you can find a lovely kitchen garden, an olive grove, an orchard and a salt-water pool. The interiors are a combination of the rustic wood pieces of furniture, the presence of some arcades which makes you think of the great castles and the modern combination of colorful and sweet nuances used for the bedrooms for example.

Five three-storey towered residential extension by Christian Pottgiesser

Posted: 26 Aug 2011 03:29 AM PDT

This beautiful mansion is located in Paris and it's composed of five three-storey towered residential extensions to the orangery of an eighteenth century castle in Yvelines. The structure was designed by Pottgiesser ArchitecturesPossibles and the design team working at the project was composed of Christian Pottgiesser and Pascale Thomas Pottgiesser.

It was a difficult project that started in 2004 and ended in 2011, with limitations that made it even more difficult. . Three of the perimeters were surrounded by historical monuments and this meant that they had to be preserved, thus making the contruction more difficult. The structure sits on a a 5,000 square meter site, from which the house occupies only870 square meters while the other 4850 square meters are the garden.

"Maison L" was named like that because of its L-shaped structure. It's a complex structure composed of five towers connected by concrete canopy. This structure allowed the architects to create beautiful roof terraces as well as shared living areas. The owners are a family of six, two parents and four children.

The five towers were built using white cement and they are framed by pine boards. A dry stone wall envelops the ground floor. The construction was restricted to eight meters in height, thus forcing the architects to build the ground floor two meters below point 0. But this also meant that they could have seven meters high ceilings. The towers feature concrete masonry, which ensures insulation throughout the year.

Each tower features a dressing room, a storage space, as well as a mezzanine and a bathroom on the ground floor, while on the second floor sits the bedroom. The larger tower, belonging to the parents, also has a beautiful rooftop garden that offers clear views to"La Défense", Paris' business district with its sky scrapers. Overall, the interior design is modern and minimalist, with functional built-in furniture and lots of open spaces.{found on yatzer}

Posted: 26 Aug 2011 01:48 AM PDT

Famous fashion icon and interior designer Iris Apfel is also the new owner of a New York apartment that she obviously decorated herself. The designer studied art history at New York University and she has also attended art school. It came a moment when when she decided to start her own business. This decision was the result of a conclusion that she drawn when she realized that she could outperform her decorator-employer.

So the student was now the master. The style of the fresh designer and decorator was unique. She was a fan of unique and antique pieces of furniture and as a result she developed her own style. The new apartment that she purchased in New York is a very clear representation of her style.

The apartment features unusual and unique details and decorations, like for example the 18-19th century dog portraits that can be seen throughout the house, French chairs, art books, stone pedestals and many other items that have been collected over the years.

As you can see, Iris doesn’t create minimalist interior design. In her case, more is better. Not everyone can embrace this concept successfully. You need to know how to combine colors, patterns and textures in a way that doesn’t hurt the eye. She seems to be an expert in this sense.What do you think of Iris Apfel's home?{found on interiorholic}

Asian-inspired residence in Lynwood

Posted: 25 Aug 2011 10:12 PM PDT

Located on 1747 Jasmine Street, in Lynwood, one of Denver’s Coveted Mid-Century Neighborhoods, this beautiful residence has a very special design and so does the landscape surrounding it. It's an Asian-inspired residence, both in terms of interior and exterior design and look. In order to create a unifying image, the landscape and nature surrounding this place have also been remodeled to embrace the new look.

The perennial gardens together with the junipers and natural fencing contribute to a very quiet and relaxing atmosphere achieved there. The house itself tries to be as close to nature as possible. So the delimitation between inside and out is very thin and achieved through a lot of floor to ceiling glass windows that allows a piece of nature to be part of the interior design.

The residence features 3 bedrooms and three baths, a courtyard with water feature and koi, a laundry room that's also used for storage and an additional family/theatre room. It also features 2 off street parking spaces. The whole house presents hardwood flooring and several other wooden features that beautifully complement the rest of the décor. The house has a modern design, both inside and out but there's also a rustic touch here and there that adds personality. This beautiful 1869 sq feet residence located on a 8.380 lot is available for $412.000.

Hanging Flower Basket Made of Wicker

Posted: 25 Aug 2011 08:47 PM PDT

If you love flowers as much as I do than you want to have as many as possible. And, of course, you know that during the summer season it is better for them to stay outdoors in order to benefit from the direct sunlight and fresh air. But sometimes you can’t place the flower pots on the ground because of the lack of space or because you have some very curious kids around. Then the best solution is to use some hanging planters. I prefer hanging baskets instead of flower pots because these baskets are made of natural materials – like this Hanging Flower Basket Made of Wicker over here that is made of wicker. This allows the plants to breathe and absorb the water they need and they are also a lot lighter than those made of ceramics or zinc or tin.

This hanging planter is great because it is weather resistant , so you can keep it out on all kinds of weather, even in winter when it is empty. That is possible because it is made of resin wicker. You can hang it directly to the metal hook or use a chain if there is enough space for that. Your flowers will look beautiful in it and you will be able to admire all the colourful bloom hanging from it. It is available now for $59.99 on Amazon.
