Soft Settanta armchair by Enzo Berti

Posted: 23 Aug 2011 10:45 AM PDT

Settanta is a very soft and cozy armchair that is part of a larger collection that shares the same characteristics. It was designed by Enzo Berti and it's a great piece of furniture for the living room but that's not the only option. Because the armchair has such a friendly shape, it can be integrated in a variety of different decors and assemblies.

Settanta was designed as a small sofa. It has similar characteristics to a sofa. It's soft and cozy, it has a robust look and its design really resembles a mini-sofa. And with the image also comes comfort. Settanta is a very comfortable chair, a piece where you can relax and sink into. You might even fall asleep there. This soft upholstered armchair comes in a variety of colors and patterns. All of them are beautiful and elegant and would make a great additional to any home.

The armchair features a multilayer beech wood frame and sterilized goose feather padding linen with 100% cotton protective coat. You might feel bad at first knowing that all that comfort comes from goose feathers but I'm sure they weren't sacrificed for that so you should just enjoy your armchair. The versatile design allows it to be included in all sorts of interiors. Regardless of the style you'll always get an inviting and cozy atmosphere.

On a rainy evening, sitting on the balcony of your home, having hot coffee and snacks and having a talk with your family while enjoying the rain, doesn’t it sounds too good and cozy. Again, sitting in the balcony on the night and gazing the stars and the moon in a clear night sounds too romantic.

For small balconies, generally two- four chairs and a table is enough. A bistro set can be a nice fit in your small balcony. Bistro sets generally have a very stylish look, no matter of what material it is made of. This set comprises of two chairs and a table. So, a bistro set and extra two chairs will perfectly fit in a small balcony. Moreover, instead of the extra chair you can go for multipurpose seats like storage bench.

However, you don't need much furniture when it comes to organizing a balcony and that to a small one. Moreover, it is not necessary to have a huge budget. Villa Topoject located in a mountainous area by AND

Posted: 23 Aug 2011 07:13 AM PDT

Located near Seoul, more exactly in Gyeonggido, Korea, this house is a hybrid from multiple points of view. When it comes to this house, the distinction between object building and landscape buildings doesn't even make sense anymore. The house uses the rigid landscape in its favor, creating a unique and intriguing design.

Also, because of the location, the owners are in permanent contact with nature, feeling like locals, but in the same time they are constantly invited to admire the incredible views and everything that the surrounding nature has to offer, which is mostly what tourist do. Moreover, the distinction between open and private spaces is not that visible in this case.

This is a small house, suited for a couple or a single family. It's not a home for a family with children. It's more like a private retreat where two people can come to have some quiet time and to relax and enjoy each other far away from the busy city but close enough to still feel connected to it. Because of the landscape, the house also features several semi-private outdoor spaces, for sunny days or for fresh mornings, when the owners can enjoy a cup of coffee while admiring the nature and breathing the fresh air. The house was designed by Architecture of Novel Differentiation (AND) and it was built in 2010.{found on archdaily}

Penthouse Refurbishment by Avignon et Clouet in Nantes, France

Posted: 23 Aug 2011 04:25 AM PDT

Even though most of us would agree that France is a beautiful place, with incredible views and a lot of places to see, this doesn't mean you need to build a glass house in order to make that happen. Located in Nantes, France, this penthouse was designed by Avignon et Clouet.They seem to have had good intentions but they took them a little too far, to the extreme.

The idea was to create the impression of a bigger space and in the same time to adopt a modern idea together with nontraditional materials. Glass divisions were used instead of solid walls and this helped create a more open and vast space but, in the same time, it tends to look like an office or the interior of a hospital. The glass is great when used properly but it's not a material that gives warmth and comfort. In other words, this doesn't look like a cozy home at all.

An interesting detail is the indoor pool that is something unusual and quite surprising. The location of the pool is also great because it allows amazing views to be enjoyed by the users. The penthouse also features a retracting staircase that is very interesting but in the same time it's not very safe. So, overall, the intention was good and the architects tried to create a modern and refreshing design, but the choice of the materials and the way they were combined was not as successful as planned.{pics by Stéphane Chalmeau}

Jason Statham’s Hollywood Hills property sold for $2.7 million

Posted: 23 Aug 2011 02:36 AM PDT

British actor Jason Statham doesn't seem to like staying too much in one place. He was the owner of a two-bedroom condo in Broadway that he sold in 2009, choosing instead to buy a five-bedroom beach home in Malibu for $10.95 million. He also had a very nice home in Hollywood Hills that he picked up for $2.4 million in 2005, the same year "transporter 2" came out.

The house is a very beautiful mid-century modern structure located on a 35 acre plot. It was built in 1957 and it suffered some subtle changes since then. Now it has a very beautiful interior décor, a combination of classic and modern features. Overall, the house is elegant and modern, with sharp right angles and a lot of floor-to-ceiling glass panels that help create a continuous image and attempt to soften the discrepancies between indoor and outdoor spaces.

The house also has a private pool surrounded by beautiful vegetation. This allows more intimacy and in the same time makes the user feel more in touch with nature. The housewas sold for $2.7 million on Jul 21, 2011.It's a very attractive house, both because it has a unique look and because it belonged to the famous actor. However, the looks would be enough.

Elegant Interior Design by Leslie and Steve Ronald

Posted: 23 Aug 2011 12:47 AM PDT

Today we would like to present you a house designed by Leslie and Steve Ronald. This next house is an amazing place to live, a unique place to call home.

The house presents an open floor plan, french doors throughout the entire place, concrete floors and a soft, neutral palette that gives it a warm and welcoming feel. The style of this home is eclectic. As you can see there are a lot of antiques and also some modern features, such as the stainless steel appliances in the kitchen.

This lovely home has a lot of traditional, classic elements like most of the furnishings and the chandeliers which make it feel somewhat too fussy and elegant, but comfortable and fun at the same time. The designers used mirrors in order to make the space feel bigger than it really is.

Furthermore the designers used some fun, bold colors here and there to give the place some personality and make it seem inviting. What’s more the owners benefit from a superb terrace where they can entertain family and friends or just relax and enjoy a beautiful sunny day.

This is a great house, a wonderful place to retreat to. Elegant, light, airy and totally comfortable this is a dream home.{pics from traditionalhome}

80 m² Bright and Spacious Apartment in Madrid

Posted: 22 Aug 2011 11:30 PM PDT

For most of us, among the most important aspects of our house there are the size and the light. Nothing compares to a large window ensuring the entrance of the natural light or to the white walls giving the impression of an even larger and brighter space. It is also the case of a 80 m2 floor situated inPozuelo de Alarcon,Madrid, where the kitchen was improved in order to gain space and light.

The choice of furniture and the whiteness of the walls are the elements that perfectly accomplish the two requirements. In a generally white atmosphere, some shades of color animate the atmosphere. The kitchen is the change, with its gain of natural light and all sorts of equipments, but actually, the main innovation of the entire place consists in its decoration.

The simple pieces, straight lines and use of wood are the key words that transform the old place into a new one, one in which light and warmth give that comfortable air that makes us feel at ease. The sofa, the chaise longue, the carpet, the wooden chairs are only a few of the pieces that change the mood of a simple environment, while the color spots make the difference in a white space. The essence of this house can be summed up in a few words, which mean everything: light, space, warmth, comfort.{found on micasarevista}
