Apple Core Remover

Posted: 07 Aug 2011 08:54 AM PDT

It’s weekend again and my kids want something sweet once again. Of course I prefer preparing something in the house, so I usually choose the season fruit and make some stewed fruit, juice, cakes and even pancakes with jam. Any way, most of the times I need to take the core out from fruit like apples, pears and some other related ones. And since it’s absolutely tiring to do that by hand and using a knife and it also takes too long, I looked for some tool that can help me in the kitchen. This is the Apple Core Remover.

This tool helps you get to the apple core and remove it gently. It has a very strong stainless steel head that penetrates the apple. It is strong enough to go from one side of the fruit to the other without breaking or damaging the fruit. The handle is made of polycarbonate and is washable in the washing machine. Women who spend much time cooking will be glad to find out that the core stays in the tool and is not slipped on the table. This way you avoid making everything dirty around and you can keep the kitchen clean for a longer time. It is available now for $16.95.

Disney Mickey Mouse Shaped Bath Rug

Posted: 07 Aug 2011 08:19 AM PDT

There are many different Disney characters and some of them are popular and some not so much. But I personally haven’t seen anybody NOT to like Mickey Mouse. It is one of the oldest and also funniest Disney characters. That is why all kids love having his face around and that is why you can see Mickey’ s face or even just the shape on may products. For example this rug is not a simple lack rug for the bathroom. It is a bathroom rug that has Mickey’ s head shape and which is perfect fro children of all ages.

This Disney Mickey Mouse Shaped Bath Rug is entirely made of cotton and is machine tufted. Because it is designed for the bathroom and also to be used by kids, it is safer to cover all basis so as to avoid slipping on the bathroom tiles, so the rug has a skid resistant backing. It is soft and nice and every time you see it you remember Mickey Mouse. It is easy to clean with soap and warm water and its price is very affordable – $19.99.

Crystal Cathedral in California USA

Posted: 07 Aug 2011 07:08 AM PDT

If you ever go to in Garden Grove, Orange County, California, you will certainly be surprised to see a sparkling modern building that has become the landmark for the Southern part of California. But you will not guess its destination unless you hear or read its name: the Crystal Cathedral. Actually it is not a cathedral per se, being a reformed church and it is not made of crystal either, being a combination of steel and glass. So it’s all a kind of “poetic license” so to say, but people know it under this name.

The founder, Robert H. Schuller brought the architect Philip Johnson to make sure the church will be a beautiful one. The construction took more than three years to finish, being begun in 1977 and dedicated in 1980. But it is a great building and it’s a modern and stylish piece of architecture.  The most stiking feature is the combination of steel and glass, those rectangular pieces of glass covering it being in number of over 10,000. What’s so particular about these panes is the fact that they are not bolted to the building, but glued with a special silicone and this is said to make it stand earthquakes of up to 8 degrees.

The Crystal Cathedral is 415 feet long, 207 feet wide and 128 feet high. I can assure you that you can’t miss it . Besides the huge quantities of concrete used when building it, they also used a special kind of marble and granite for the front area. It can offer seats for 2,736 people and has an incredible choir and organ. If you want to find out more details about it, just follow me on their official web site.

Transparent Seahorse Toilet Seat

Posted: 07 Aug 2011 06:35 AM PDT

All things around us are important because they each have their role in our lives. And if you think some of them are not worth any effort, you should see a different version and you will realize you can improve the way your house looks with very little effort. For example things in the bathroom may seem unimportant, like the toilet seat, but if you have a very nice model it will certainly stand out. This toilet seat is thick and transparent, letting you see the marine theme inside: a seahorse, some beautifully coloured shells and some sea plants (although I am pretty sure they are actually ferns).

If you enter the bathroom and see this unusual toilet seat, you feel almost like taking a look at the bottom of the sea. All the sand and shells, the starfish and the seahorse make the atmosphere unique and nice. However, the shells inside do not get out of the toilet seat to scratch you, but they are very well trapped inside by some injection molded of high-impact, chemically resistant polypropylene. The seat is ergonomic and very comfortable and also very easy to install, with chrome hinges. Buy it now from Amazon for $44.53.

Coway slow juicer for maximum efficiency

Posted: 07 Aug 2011 06:12 AM PDT

A lot of people have a juicer in their kitchen. Usually the families with children use them more because they prepare natural juice for their kids that is said to contain more vitamins and nutritious elements. When choosing a juicer, one criteria that people consider important is the speed that it operates with. They think that if it's faster it has to be better.

On the contrary, the effect seems to be inconsistent with this factor. Coway Juicepresso is here to demonstrate this theory. Juicepresso is a slow juicer. You might think it's either outdated or less efficient but you couldn't be more wrong. This slow juicer slowly and gently extracts all the nutriments and vitamins from the fruit without grinding or ripping them apart. This way you get more juice that has more vitamins. The fruits can preserve their flavor and color because of minimized friction and heat.

It doesn't seem logical at first but the more you think about it the more it starts to make sense. So, as you can see, slow juicers are actually more efficient than the other ones. Slow and steady wins the race again. Coway Juicepresso also has a compact design so it doesn't take a lot of space. It's also characterized by slow operation noise and it's very easy to clean.Available for € 400.

A Future Perspective over Interior Design by Geometrix

Posted: 07 Aug 2011 05:09 AM PDT

Geometrix Design stands for some key-concepts that fit into a certain pattern, no other famous name  in the field does.  You would not think that green and red match in such a nice combination: in a very green environment, the red pieces of furniture make the difference. Color is the first thing that gets to your eyes when you enter this modern universe, which seems to exist in order to announce future trends.

This smart environment  is quite futuristic and makes you think more about a spaceship than a normal house.  Everything seems to be concentrated in a space, which seems to be the perfect combination of interesting furniture, all kinds of shapes and forms that make you think about future, highest quality materials, colorful lamps on the walls reflected in the kitchen furniture, hanging chairs.

These are only parts of an inspiring place, which also includes modern and elegant offices with the most interesting lamps someone could think of. Light and the way it falls on different objects is very important; the way of disposing the colorful lamps on the walls animates everything around, like in a children’s game.  The modernity of the design suggests an attractive perspective over the future; looking around, you get the impression this is what future stands for, no matter what happens next.

SMG apartments building In Tokyo by Mejiro Studio

Posted: 07 Aug 2011 03:45 AM PDT

In Tokyo, Japan Mejiro Studio has designed a series of unusual apartments that try to get out of the ordinary and to offer a distinct experience to those who chose to live in an apartment complex. The SMG apartments, as they are called, feature an interesting design, using curves and undulating shapes that create an interesting visual image.

I’ve always been a fan of this type of designs. I used to imagine how it would be live in an apartment with round walls and delicate lines. Those living in Tokyo can experience this fact on their own if they manage to get their hands on an apartment in that building. It’s a very different feeling when you’re living in such an apartment. Of course, it’s more challenging to furnish the place because most of the furniture has been designed for regular homes.

The building distinguishes itself from the rest of the structures by featuring an original and unusual design. Besides that, there’s really nothing else that would makes this apartment complex special. The apartments probably look more welcoming and you get a nice feeling when you step inside. However, there seems to be a big inconvenience related to the bathroom. The main disadvantage is the fact that the bathroom overlooks the parking lot, which is not at all what anyone would like to see when they are inside. It’s supposed to be an intimate and private space but not in this case.{found on contemporist}
