Runaway flowerpot

A lot of people like flowers and like to have them in their home, to admire them and to use them as lovely decorations. However, nobody ever really wondered if the flowers enjoy all this. Maybe they hate it and maybe they just want to run away as fast as they can. Maybe they do, but they can't do anything about it.

Anderson Horta, a designer from Brazil, tried to include this idea into a very funny and very cute flowerpot. This cartoon-inspired piece is a simple flowerpot endowed with legs that make it look like it's running away from you. The pot is made of polished casting slip and it's available in white and orange. It's a funny piece but in the same time it's a subtle reminder that plants would better like it if they were free, in their natural habitat. On the other side, this is not a vase, so you don't actually kill the flowers in order to obtain a nice décor. It's a modern flowerpot that adds some spark to the room.

The dimensions of this cute piece are 28cm x 10cm x 23cm. Be kind and gentle with your plants, treat them all and give them plenty of water and love because now they have another option and they will otherwise run away from you.

Everybody loves coffee or tea. It depends on the tastes of each of us or of our needs.

Whether we drink our tea in the morning or we invite our friends at a cup of coffee in the afternoon, we should take care that the tea or coffee be served in an elegant way.

MIXUSSTUDIO had an original idea of creating some Tattle Tale  Cups that their handle takes the shape of the letters of the alphabet.

As in the commerce a new product with a beautiful arrangement will be noticed by a buyer more quickly, the same way will happen with these cups that have a unique design and will give more flavor to the served drink.

Now every member of the family that has the initial of his name on his cup will know which is his and nobody will confuse them anymore. As you will have the initial of your name on the cup you become attached to it and the flavor of your coffee will seem more special.

Rustic Calliope Lantern

Designed by Currey and Company, the Calliope Lantern is a very graceful pendant, perfect for a more traditional home. It has friendly shape and a nice iron frame that make it perfect for nay room of the house. It measures 15″Diameter x 32″H and it accepts 4 type B bulbs of 60 watt max. The bulbs are not included so you'll have to buy them separately.

Because of the relatively durable frame and also because of the friendly design, with cute and delicate details, the Calliope lantern would be a very nice choice for the kid's room, more exactly for a little girl's room. The iron frame makes it safe and harder to brake and the light is soft and gentle. It's true that it's not as colorful and fun as most of the items destined for children are, but it has a very graceful appearance and a very cute design. It also features a rustic gold finish that makes it look even more luxurious. It's been handfinished using a process that lends an air of depth and richness not achieved by less time-consuming methods.

ISO System 216 – a very bright and fun sideboard

During summer season everything seems to be brighter and lighter. The sun is up in the sky, the weather is nice, you can dress casual, you get to go on vacation, swim and have fun at the beach etc. Since the atmosphere is go great outside, why not bring it inside the house as well?

A simple way of doing that is by choosing colorful piece of furniture that add a little spark to the décor. A nice example is the ISO System 216. It's a sideboard that features a minimalist design and very bright and vivid colors. It's called ISO System 216 because it's based on paper sizes using international standard ISO. It all makes sense now. The sideboard has multiple drawers that allow easy storage. Each drawer is colored in a different tone. They vary from yellow to green and everything in between. It's a very fun piece of furniture that has a very simple design. It's also very versatile as it can be included in the bedroom and used as a dresser or even in the kitchen where there is a lot of stuff that needs storage.

The sideboard has very fun puzzling design and the colors really go with the festive summer atmosphere. This being said, I wonder what one should do with this sideboard when summer is over. It's not like we have 4 different types of furniture, one for every season.{found on invisiblecity}

People often don't realize, but they have this habit of imagining all sorts of things. Fir example they wonder what would happen if a Pekingese combines with a St. Bernard? Do you get a giant Pekingese or a very small St. Bernard? Or, what would it look like if you combine a chair with a bench? In the last case, someone actually turned the idea into reality.

Darmstadt – based studio Kieser Spath designed Emma. The result was a chair sitting on top of a bench structure. It sounds simple and not that exciting, but the actual product is more interesting and functional than you might think. This bench-like chair, or chair-like bench is a very comfortable and very useful piece. It's also extremely versatile as it can be placed basically anywhere in the house. You can use it as a quiet place for reading, the extension allowing you to also have a place for your books or for a cold drink. You can also use it as a very comfy sitting place on the deck, on the terrace, inside the house or outside.

Emma is a very friendly piece of furniture. It's been made using ash-wood and a cushioned seat shell. It has a playful look that makes it perfect for any type f home. The chair is available is black or blue.

Ring Around a Tree in Tokyo, Japan

Kids are always happy to be able to play outside, where they can run free and play with their friends. It's also convenient for the parents because, this way, the kids consume their energy and they'll be more attentive and quiet when they go home. You can usually find parks and playgrounds anywhere it's a school or kindergarten. However, not all of them can say that they have such an attractive and ingenious structure on their property.

Tezuka Architects have created a very ingenious and interesting structure at a kindergarten in Tachikawa, Tokyo, Japan. It's a sort of playground that has been built around a beautiful tree. It's called Ring Around a Tree and both the kids and the adults love it. In the center of the structure there's a big tree with several big branches coming out. The tree has been preserved in order to ensure the parents that it's safe. It's a great way to bring the kids in contact with nature, to educate them in this direction and to try to make them understand that nature is a very important aspect and it should be protected.

The playground is very fun and the kids are grateful to be able to enjoy it with their friends. The idea is very interesting and maybe it will be adopted in other institutions or parks as well.

We've already talked a while ago about the Hana table, which was part of the same collection. Designed by Shige Hasegawa Design in Tokyo, the "Hana" collection is a nature-inspired set that will add elegance and style to any home.

Fishers Island House in New York

Fishers Island House designed by Thomas Phifer and Partners seems to be the embodiment of  heaven. If you have ever tried to imagine  heaven, then it definitely must have some  of the parts this unique place has. The surrounding gardens and woods are definitely the perfect place in which you forget all your  worries and problems, relax and enjoy every second spent here.

The building deserves to be situated here, thanks to the exceptional balance created between the house and nature.  It is the living proof of an ambient of extraordinary 20th century paintings, sculptures and glassware. What else could you want? The architectural element is characterized by subtlety, but the most significant aspect is the animated interplay between landscape and art.

The wide glass windows offer at least two magnificent perspectives: one over the exterior, over the incomparable landscape that nature provides,  the other over the interior, over the colorful indoor collection. Both perspectives educate and cultivate the mind and soul at the same time and it is impossible not to be impressed.

The surrounding environment is perfect in its beauty and simplicity , while the house is the designer’s merit, but both project their presence on the other. The whiteness and elegance of the kitchen speak for themselves and the view provided by the kitchen window leaves you speechless. This place  is definitely a corner of heaven!
