Posted: 08 Jul 2011 09:03 AM PDT

The sofa seems to be the central piece of furniture from the living room. Everyone gathers there to chat or to simply enjoy each other's company. Whenever guests come over, you'll always invite them in the living room. Once you're all there, everyone searches for a place to sit on. That's why it's important to have an appropriate sofa or sectional. Swedish designer Stefan Borselius has created a very beautiful and modern collection.

Because the living room is a room used for several types of activities, starting with just seating and talking and finishing with playing games or having a party, the furniture used there has to be modular. That's exactly what this collection is about.

Created for the Åhus, Sweden based manufacturer Blå Station, this furniture collection features the Dunder sofa, easy chair, and footstool. The Dunder sofa is basically formed from several smaller pieces that can be put together in various ways to form different shapes and forms. You can create a sectional, a sofa or you can use the pieces separately for individual seating areas.

This collection is so great because it gives you the freedom to decorate your home in any way you want. It allows you t use your imagination and creativity in order to design an original and personalized décor. The pieces are very comfortable and share a modern design, with vivid colors and soft lines.

Rubber pendant lamps

Posted: 08 Jul 2011 08:16 AM PDT

When it comes to pendant lamps, they are usually made or glass, wood, metal or any other material. Nobody would every think of rubber in this case. However, here is a collection of pendant lamps that are made fro exactly this material. These rubber pendant lamps come in four different colors and they are both fun and functional.

Having a rubber lamp has its advantages. It's not as fragile as a glass lamp and it's a more appropriate choice for the kid's room. It's also more easy to find a storage place for it because it folds. In fact, it's a little strange that the lamps are called "Unfold". These funny lamps have been designed by From Us With Love. They are made of soft but strong silicone rubber that makes them durable but still soft enough to be folded. They make a great piece for the kid's room because they sometime tend to play football inside the house or other games that result in accidents. With a rubber pendant lamp at least you'll know this one is safe.

The lamps come in four different vibrant colors: grey, blur, yellow and purple. They are modern and fun and because of their simple design they are also very versatile and can be included in any room of the house.

Flexible pillow by Mia Cinelli

Almost everyone got used to sleeping with a pillow. Doctors usually advise us that it's better to sleep without a pillow but we don't really think that's true so we ignore them. In an effort to solve this problem, there have been developed all sorts of different pillow designs that are meant to make our sleep more comfortable. Michigan-based designer Mia Cinelli has come up with a more unusual pillow design.

The Loop pillow looks like a large circular tube and it's approximately 18' long and 20" in circumference. It's a very flexible pillow that allows the user to enjoy a comfortable sleep. It's like a companion during the night for those who don't like sleeping alone. However, those are not sleeping alone should not exaggerate because their partner might eventually get jealous and their pillow might suffer an unfortunate accident. Besides being a comfy companion during the night, this pillow is also very helpful in the case or pregnant women for whom it's hard to find a comfortable position during the night.

The pillow is very helpful in this case. The Loop pillow is a very fun and soft pillow, different from all the other ones. It's very comfortable and cozy and it's a real help when nobody else is there during the night. I think it's a very safe replacement.

Matchbox Gardens from Another Studio

Posted: 08 Jul 2011 06:06 AM PDT

A very cute and somewhat funny solution for small apartments that need some green from place to place is to have miniature planters. For example, a cute collection comes from Another Studio. The Matchbox Gardens are in fact very small planters shaped like miniature houses with garden in front.

The planter comes with everything you need in order to grow your plants. All you have to do is attach the house to the garden, sow the seeds and add a little water. In about three days they should be visible and ready to admire. After that you'll be able to enjoy the little lawn for about three weeks. Then you can just repeat the process. The gardens come in little boxes measuring 105 x 70 x 15 mm each. The tray is waterproof. The set also comes with instructions so you know exactly what to do in order to grow your garden.

Even though they say this is a solution for small apartments I find it more appropriate for little kids. It's like a science project for them and also a way to learn how to care and take care of something. I remember when I used to grow beans and other small plants when I was a kid. For me it was very exciting so I thing the children will especially like this piece mostly because of its friendly shape.

Couldn't get any idea from the caption? Not to worry. With a lot of experiments, trials and errors that go on in the designing and much more specifically decorations, have you ever considered how much ideas to decorate with letters and numbers one can come up with?

If one pays attention it is not hard to notice that we end up using letters and alphabets in some place or the other, be it simple birthday decorations or be it decorations for some world concert. The hard fact is that using ideas to decorate with letters and numbers relay much more information than any other decorative item.

We can easily relay our message with letters but it takes a lot of time and pain if we do it with other materials like colours or maybe paper cut-outs. To clearly say what our message is we tend to resort to these letters and numbers. With better styles of writing fitting into the theme of the decoration, alphabets and numbers tends to easily fit in. Calligraphy artists can easily come up with numerous styles to write one single word or letter. So whether you want it calm or spooky or anything you want to think about, you get it all.

Ideas to decorate with letters and numbers are generated to fit every detail of the decorations, the way the letters are to be written to the very way of arranging them. And the best thing about these written elements is that they come in all colours and can go in any size.

Text has always been a way to express our message to the masses, almost all the display we see around have used some ideas to decorate with letters and numbers to make the meaning come alive, as such one cannot do away with the same when it comes to decorations. Letters and alphabets are a part and parcel of every decoration.{pics from flashdecor}
