Different types of bedroom designs

Posted: 07 Jul 2011 10:04 AM PDT

Colours, wallpapers, furniture and what not… So many things and limited space to get them arranged. Getting the interiors right is really a tough task. Ample options in hand, it becomes so very hard to decide or just stick to one. And when it comes to decide on the bedroom styling, one must keep a few points in mind like the decorations or the styling must not hinder to the natural ambiance of a bedroom that is, it allows one to feel free and unwind after the daily chores which tend to tire us up.

As such the bedroom styling is best when kept to minimalism. Minimalistic designs not only add a spark of uniqueness to the room but also tend to preserve that natural bedroom related feeling. Bedrooms are generally the ones on which the most money is spent when we talk of interior decorations. But getting a decent and stylish bedroom is not all about money; it is the creativity of the designer which should focus on getting the room decorated with the least number of things. And it also demands that most of the things are from ordinary walks of life and not overly extravagant or exquisite.

Using plain shades or wallpapers along with designer ones in contrast is a fairly good idea. It would add a touch of styling at the same time keep it simple. Over decoration tends to create a sense of being congested as well as creates an uneasy feeling. Keeping places open, where one can walk around and using lighter colours and even lighter designs is the best way to create that atmosphere in which one can unwind. Using too many showpieces or wall hangings can also make the place feel pretty much occupied; so it is best to use as minimum as possible.

Having a green potted plant or maybe an open veranda attached to the bedroom is a very good feature. Also the maximum amount of light should come inside the room. So having a lot of glass windows is not a bad idea and is worth considering. When it comes to a good sleep, larger details tend to disrupt sleep as such it is always advised to keep the detailing like engravings and styles very minimal so that later on it doesn't rob away the joy of a cool and calm sleep.

Unique Summer House in Denmark

Posted: 07 Jul 2011 08:04 AM PDT

If you are searching for creative inspirations to design a unique summer house, you should consider taking inspirations from this enchanting summer house situated in Denmark. Located in the west coast region of Denmark marked with wild landscape and beaches, this house has been exquisitely designed in Nordic style interiors. Little furniture pieces and less colorful interiors have been teamed in order to create warm interiors.

The basic color theme of the house has been chosen as a combination of white, gray and black. The walls, ceilings, doors, windows, cabinets, lamps and few lighting features feature the white color, whereas traditional concrete material slabs in grey color have been chosen as the flooring option. The stunning black color has been introduced in the interiors by way of exteriors and accent pieces. Exterior surface of the house, dining table chairs, sofa seats and few lighting fixtures don the contrasting black color.

The outside seating area created by employment of rustic wooden tables, chairs and a matching parasol is also worth mentioning. In addition, the decoration throughout the house, including the living room has been strictly kept minimal so that the uncluttered and neat look imparted by the white interiors does not get lost.{found on BoBedre}

Contemporary White Villa V in Belgium

Posted: 07 Jul 2011 03:12 AM PDT

Villa V is located in Flanders, Belgium and it is one of the best views in the region created byBeel & Achtergael Architects. From the first moment you see it, you have that familiar feeling that you cannot have, unless you are at home with your friends and family. It is definitely a relaxing place, providing the calm and serenity that only a beautiful place, an appropriate company and atmosphere can give you.

Villa V is not only a simple house for a normal family, but it is an entire world which seems to be created in order to make your life more pleasant and rewarding, if you take into account the art collection. The building  is structured on two floors, the first one being designed for both business and recreational purpose, while the ground floor has a “U”  shape, around the open -air yard. It is the perfect place to enjoy at the same time: light, space and art; the whiteness is one of the obvious aspects which draws your attention upon the wide open space, the outside walls which are closed, the continuous glass wall, but not only.

The design is characterized by simplicity, style and elegance. There is enough space for children, both outside and inside and, at the same time,  the atmosphere is nice, discrete, private, also – for parents, and their friends…The architectural element is impressive, while the pool, the distinctive windows  and the disco balls in the garage reveal some of the owner’s taste and style. It is certainly a distinguished place!{found on contemporist}

A Simple House in Gauses,Spain

Posted: 07 Jul 2011 12:00 AM PDT

As everybody feels the need to have a home, there are all sorts of houses: from the most expensive to more accessible and of course to cheap houses. The house with an apparent strange form is located in Gauses, Vilopriu, Spain and was designed by Anna & Eugeni Bach according to the financial aspect, but the result was satisfactory.

There is a principal building which serves as both a small studio for painting and an occasional weekend house, but also a porch in a totally green environment. The porch has a very simple and natural appearance; the two facades below it are painted in vertical white and green stripes, integrating the building into the surrounding vegetation, have a more durable appearance and produces a sort of play according to the sunlight.

One of the corners provides spectacular views over the entire village and over the mountains on the horizon. It is a simple place, which provides an appropriate mood and atmosphere both for work and revival. The white and green facades are in harmony with the natural environment and you definitely feel welcome.

The wide glass windows from the open-plan space fit perfectly in the general atmosphere and provide the essential natural light. The entire open-plan area is ideally maximized and is the most attractive place of the house, in contrast with the other rooms, which are reduced to essentials. The inclinations offer a sort of continuity between the principal building and the porch, everything emphasizing the concept of essence and simplicity.{found on archdaily}

Another Colorful Apartment in Paris

Posted: 06 Jul 2011 11:34 PM PDT

Color is one of the most important aspects in a house; its presence or its absence makes the difference between an ordinary apartment and one that makes you vibrate. Color is in for a house as important as for a painter. The more harmonious is the combination, the better and more optimistic you feel.

This apartment in Paris is based on the same idea of color, the essence of  life.  It inspires a fairytale world in which the sovereigns are colors. The building is old and  is located in Paris, with an old air, a romantic mood, inspiring pure magic. Every room seems to have its own soul and its own atmosphere, with old wallpaper, hand carved stone flooring, mid-century furniture and flea market findings.

These aspects are the ones which revive the past and history, while the color combination draws the attention upon the present and what is important in life: to feel at ease and enjoy every little detail that makes you feel good.  In contrast with all the other rooms and parts of the house, the bedroom is white, suggesting purity and creating a very peaceful atmosphere in a predominantly colored environment.

Red, yellow, green are touches that reveal the lifestyle of the owner, no matter they are in a painting, on the wall or in furniture pieces, they transmit a certain mood, energy, joy and make people aware of the details which make the difference.{found on da}

Sunroom design ideas

Posted: 06 Jul 2011 07:47 PM PDT

A sunroom is not an integral part of every design, for the simple reason that it is not a necessity such as a kitchen, a bedroom or a living room. However, for those who can afford the space is a fabulous add-on to opt for as it definitely improves the quality of life. Interior design ideas for sunrooms spring up from most magazines that deal with home and garden interior design and makeover ideas. Sunroom interior photos accompanying these articles, allow a potential user to visualize the end product since sunrooms are a cut above the necessary but not so much that fairly ordinary persons with reasonable means cannot afford them.

Sunroom decorating can vary from the order off the shelf fancy designs to D.I.Y. that can be replicated step by step, from a manual. In tandem with the methodology chosen for sunroom designs, sunroom interiors would develop with the furnishings for the room being custom-made by experts or put together from a D.I.Y. manual. Since sunrooms as the name suggests are designed to be traps for sunlight, window treatment ideas for sunrooms are extremely important.

Depending upon the extent of sunlight available and the necessity for regulating its impact window treatments would need to be a carefully thought out plan. Double glazing, two sets of curtains, blinds and shutters to keep out the fury of the midday summer sun are all ideas for window treatments for sun rooms. These can be made practical and easy to use. Sometimes, sunrooms can be an extended portion of a large open-plan kitchen where one portion of the room leading outdoors is converting into an informal seating area and the kitchen and the seating area are partitioned by a dining section.

If the room is long enough to allow it, then a longitudinal dining table (perhaps 6 to 8 seats) would act as a good agent for division. Allowing for a smooth flow of uses and spaces from cooking area, to eating are to sitting area. Design ideas for sunrooms of this nature, are usually in the comfortably casual range. Sunroofs which are period in nature may perhaps be a little more formal in style but the quintessential nature of a sunroom is a place for relaxation. It is a comfortable room, where the inhabitants of the house can flop out by themselves or gather together for convivial. Sunrooms with books and papers, projects and hobbies strewn around can be the heart and pulse of a home, particularly where the sunroom is an extension of the kitchen.{pictures from decorati}

“Cirrata” Lamp by Markus Johansson

Posted: 06 Jul 2011 03:00 PM PDT

The wonderful world of waters… O world full of mysteries, populated by strange beings. Water, this vital element of life is as much as necessary as unforeseeable. From the beauty of the sandy beaches from the shore of the oceans to the disaster provoked by the destructing force of waters, this amazing world seems to surprise us every day. Among the wracks on the bottom of the ocean you may see creatures that seem to lead a fierce fight for survival.

With an innovative vision, the Swedish designer Markus Johansson created a lamp which looks like an octopus. This lamp was made of polymer corian.Corian is a decorative surface, based on a high performance and a combination of aluminum and acrylic polymers. The strong point of this material is the fact that it can take almost any shape.

The octopus has eight tentacles with cups and is famous for its dark substance which disturbs the water that it eliminates when it is followed. Also, the octopuses are fishing for their meat which is very appreciated in gastronomy.This sea creature has also gave the name of this TV serial from 1984 called " LA Piovra" where the Michele Placido plays the role of the well known police inspector, Corrado Cattani.This unique lamp, designed by Markus Johansson placed in a wonderful décor definitely will attract the appreciation of all the visitors of your house.

Simplistic Anton House by Javier de Antón Freile

Posted: 06 Jul 2011 12:06 PM PDT

People are different and unique and their tastes are various and should not be compared. Some of them love luxury, brightness, celebrity.For the contrary, others prefer sobriety, simplicity or anonymity and do not seem fascinated by extravagance and luxury.For those who are not so pretentious and love minimalist and simple things, the Spanish architect Javier de Antón Freile designed a house, located in Zamora, Spain.

The exterior and the interior of the building have a practical and simple design. There are not used vivid colors which are eye catching, for the contrary the neutral color grey seems to dominate the exterior and interior of the house too.The building has a rectangular shape with a flat roof, a small outdoor terrace an a nice swimming pool.

Although the interior spaces are narrow the big glass walls or the glass doors seem to compensate and offer the necessary amount of light and amplify the idea of space.The kitchen with grey and white furniture is simple and narrow and the same thing happens with the bedroom.The big, grey window panels seem to protect the building from bad weather although it might take from the necessary natural light for the interior.
