Bambi chair for kids

Posted: 01 Jul 2011 11:31 AM PDT

I still couldn't find out why this chair was named like this. However, here are some other things I could find out about it: the Bambi chair is a very flexible and extremely comfortable. Its beautiful design and its soft lines and comfortable cushion are exactly what you need to make your home complete.

The Bambi chair has a unique design. There's a very beautiful continuity between the backrest and the legs. The backrest resembles a handle and it can actually be used as a handle to move the chair around. The cushion has been handmade and it's the piece that brings together the two parts making the chair look complete. The Bambi chair is a very flexible and versatile piece of furniture. It has a very friendly shape that allows it to be integrated in any type of décor, whether it's traditional or modern.

Because of its soft curved lines and its friendly design, not to mention the cute name, the Bambi chair would also be a good choice for the kid's room. Of course, not for very small kids because there's still a possibility that they would get hurt. Overall this unique piece of furniture is something that everybody would like to have in their home. A very nice creation of Timo Wong and Priscilla Lu form Studio Juju.

Impressive Architecture and Interior Design on Iron Man’s House

Posted: 01 Jul 2011 08:20 AM PDT

Iron Man’s house is a totally different type of house, first of all because it is a digital house, on top of Point Dume, a Californian State Park. This Malibu cliffside house is Iron Man’s home, so you could not expect to see something common, on the contrary.  Placed in an area where people could not normally build, “our ” home looks more like a spaceship which just landed. It is isolated, surrounded by water and is the most appropriate example of modernism and complexity, a model of the house of the future.

Its strange shape creates that impression of spaceship, as you would not expect to see a house which looks like a “base”. It can be considered a concrete and glass  house, as concrete and glass are the most obviously used materials. Every piece of furniture and every little element inside underlines the concept of modern, original shapes and cuts that make you think about a future world, maybe the future of humanity.

It is very wide, it offers a spectacular view and every little detail brings to the idea of an intelligent house in which all things are perfectly placed. There are ornamental stones, all sorts of shapes, circular stairs, big round tables , round ceilings, but all are in harmony with the beautiful lanscape you can admire in the back of the huge glass windows which give you the impression of a even wider space. It is definitely an ideal house from the future.{pictures from Marvel}

Mood Rocking Bed by Shiner

Posted: 01 Jul 2011 07:43 AM PDT

I'm sure you remember the rocking chair. It's such a lovely piece of furniture, fun and comfortable. It was the perfect piece to help you relax after a long day of work. At least until the rocking bed came along. Designed by Shiner, more exactly by Joe Manus, the rocking chair takes comfort to a whole new level.

The Rocking Bed is part of a larger collection that also includes the classic rocking chair. With a bed like this sleeping like a baby is guaranteed. Just be careful not to become addicted. You can just use it to relax while gently rocking together with the bed or you can freeze it at whatever angle you like best with the help of rubber stoppers. The bed is wrapped in a carbon steel frame that can be blackened or brushed. The bed also has a wood base. Still one is also available in multiple choices: pin, oak, walnut or calico. The overall design is modern and rather simple. The main purpose was to create a relaxing and comfortable bed.

This unique bed can be placed anywhere you want. You can put it in your bedroom, in the living room, on the deck, even outside where you can also enjoy the nature. Because the steel frame goes around the bed, the structure above allows you to form a roof that will also protect you from the sun, in case you choose to go outside.Available for 2995$.

North Lake Wenatchee House on 277 sqm

Posted: 01 Jul 2011 07:10 AM PDT

Located near Lake Taupo, in Taupo Tauranga/ Oruatua, New Zealand, Rutherford House seems to be the perfect holiday house, no matter it is summer or winter. It is a modern house, with concrete base, beautiful interior spaces, a white veranda which promises to reveal the secret of an ideal holiday.

The entire design of the house was carefully accomplished by Tim Dorrington Architects; there is a permanant flow and movement which can be perceived all around the house and, probably one of the most intriguing aspects is the one related to the meticulous care proved with every detail, every material, with the unique exposure of decorative objects. The stairs and the deck are among the elements which contribute to the idea of creativity, of using all the corners and spaces as well as possible.

Another appropriate example of creativity would be the materials chosen for this house, especially the ones regarding the floor and the ventilation system: wood, glass, concrete are only a few hints.  The form of the house is contemporary and suggests the idea of a new, bold, modern space, with nice furniture and essential objects, all placed in a very pleasant environment, a beautiful landscape which brings that mental balance we all need from time to time.{found on archdaily}

Contemporary sliding kitchen counter by Minimal

Posted: 01 Jul 2011 06:39 AM PDT

As the name already suggests, Minimal's top priority is to create minimalist pieces. This kitchen counter makes no exception. It's an extremely simple structure that looks like a sleek white block. Of course, that's not all there is to see. This kitchen counter has a surprise underneath.

A large potion of the counter slides to reveal a singular induction stainless steel cooktop and a sink with a retractable faucet in a sunken corian counter top. The idea is very ingenious and very clever. Nobody likes a cluttered kitchen, with all sorts of items and furniture pieces that take space and make your job harder. The simpler the better. This particular kitchen counter is probably the best option for all kitchens regardless of their dimension and style.

Not only that you can save a lot of space with this piece, but it's also an extremely functional structure. As the top slides, it can be used as a bar, as a dining table, as a snack table or simply as a serving area. When it's closed, the kitchen looks a lot less busy. The counter also features several storage spaces, also hidden. It's one of the most beautiful kitchen pieces you could ever find. Modern and stylish, this kitchen counter would complement any home.

DIDI chair by busk+hertzog

Posted: 01 Jul 2011 05:36 AM PDT

Danish designers busk+hertzog have just created a very simple, very colorful and very modern chair. It's c hair designed for modern and contemporary homes. It's very common to see such simple pieces in contemporary homes. The owners prefer to maintain a minimalist style, with simple designs, focusing more on comfort and functionality but not neglecting the fun part.

The DIDI chair is a very beautiful creation. It has an extremely simple design, with clean lines and friendly shapes. It's made of high-quality molded foam on a metal frame. The overall image is very clean and modern. The fabrics are optional. The chair comes in vibrant colors. My personal favorite is the green but the orange one is just as beautiful and and-catching. These chairs would make a great addition to any modern or contemporary home.

The DIDI chair is very easy to clean and to maintain. It's as functional as it is comfortable. The cushion is very soft and so it the backrest. In fact, the whole piece is soft and cozy because of the foam. It's actually a child-safe piece of furniture and it could be easily integrate in a kid's room. The dimensions of the DIDI chair are 72 x 40 x 70 cm. It's a very friendly collection, appropriate for all ages.

Ctrl-Alt-Delete Cup Set

Posted: 01 Jul 2011 02:32 AM PDT

Everyone knows this key combination. It's one of the most basic ones and it's actually very useful. That's why creating a cup set inspired by it was a great and a very clever idea. Meat the Ctrl-Alt-Delete cup set from ThinkGeek. As you might have already guessed, it's a very good reproduction of the computer keys. They look very similar to the originals, they're just oversized.

Start your morning with a nice cup of coffee served in these fun cups. They actually have more in common with the actual key combination than the form and the design. Just like the key combination restores your computer, so will your morning coffee. Both you and your computer need sometimes a break. So why not enjoy it and have some coffee that will keep you awake all day?

This ingenious set comes with a white or with a black interior. It also features a stylized circuit-board tray that will make the cups look more realistic. The cups are made of sturdy plastic can hold up hot drinks with no problem. Even though I love these funny cups, I still feel like it might be a little difficult and uncomfortable to have to hold the cups when they have no handle. However, I still enjoy the cups very much. They could make a great gift for someone who loves computers or who works in that area.

Do you find apartments dressed in an elegant fashion extremely appealing? Do you prefer choosing neutral colors for decorating the interiors of your home? Well, if this is the case, you should consider seeking inspiration from this amazing yet simple apartment. The color palette for the house has been carefully selected as pristine white, and the entire walls, ceilings, doors and even few furniture pieces of the house reflect this sober theme.

Unpolished wooden material has been chosen as the flooring option to complement the neutral color theme. Decoration has been kept simple and minimal throughout the house. Two white floor stand lamps can be seen in the living room complementing the elegant white colored sofas and cane wood chairs.

Pictures featuring simple designs and bold black frames have been used to drape the bare white walls. Minimal decoration style has been extended also to the bedroom. Simple bed frame with straight lines has been complemented with neutral black color sheets and cushions. A small sitting area created in the balcony by employment of concrete table, comfortable sofa loungers, cane pot holders, and classic cane hanging lamp shades is also worth an appreciation.
