Mangrove Chair by Veraseri Designs

Posted: 11 Jun 2011 05:24 AM PDT

Pollution and greenhouse effect have caused many problems in nature, one of the most serious ones being the disappearance of some natural ecosystems, for example the mangroves on the seashore. More and more people are now aware of these problems and some of them have chosen to express themselves and make other people aware, too, leading in the end to a movement and to some measures being taken. This Mangrove Chair is the way in which the designer Adam Krehbiel from Veraseri Designs , chose to fight against this problem. So he designed the chair and sold it for $12,000 most of which went to an organization involved in earth conservation.

This unusual looking chair uses both natural and artificial materials like yellow pine wood, steel pipes, natural resins and sand. Over 90% of the materials used are recycled, which is great and shows once again that a creative mind can use almost anything and get amazing results. Apart from the artistic point of view , the chair can also be used to add a personal touch to a room and also raises awareness on this serious problem of ecosystems disappearing from the face of the Earth. These are stylized Mangroves, but they look so real and nice that can’t believe this is actually created by the humans.

Mood Mugs Giveaway

Posted: 11 Jun 2011 02:51 AM PDT

I can’t work properly if I don’t drink a cup of coffee in the morning, so I’m a bit grumpy until I finish drinking the hot tasty beverage. After that I’m all smiley and merry, active and ready to help. But how would people know if I have already drank my coffee or not, if I am happy or sad, worked out or simply in a bad mood? Well, some smart guys had the great idea of painting some faces on the coffee mugs and use them just like the messenger emoticons to show your mood.

These mugs are really funny and cover a wide range of moods, for example: Happy as Larry, Monstrously moody, Seriously Sleepy, Horribly Hungover and Cheeky Chappie. Even these names are funny and they illustrate the mood perfectly. The mouth for every mood is a bit indented in the mug and the eyes are painted. What’s ever more interesting about these mugs is the fact that they have a double layer that insulates them, so the coffee inside remains hot while the outside is still cold, so there’s no need for you to use handles, so it’s perfectly safe to hold them at any time. Now these mugs sell 8.95 pounds each at Thabto.

The contest will end Monday June 20 and the winner’s will be announced and contacted by email after the giveaway ends – on 21 June. Movie stars have lots of money if they are famous, but they must move some place near Hollywood if they want to be there when they are needed for some movie shots in the “Movie Citadel”. So most of the times they purchase properties in Los Angeles, which is the most convenient choice and also offers them the possibility to have a luxury life and property and stay away from the indiscreet eyes of the audience and paparazzi.

One of the best rated actresses nowadays in Hollywood is certainly Jennifer Aniston, former “Friends” star. She bought a nice mansion in Beverly Hills in in 2006 for $13.6 million. Now, five years and several millions later, the mansion looks a bit different, as it was re-designed with the help of Stephen Shadley, who also added some latest technology gadgets for more comfort.

Any way, the house is now listed to be sold for about $42 million and specialists say that the 10,000 square feet mansion is worth every penny. Contemporary Floating House in South Korea

Posted: 10 Jun 2011 11:43 AM PDT

Don't be fooled by the title, this house isn't actually floating. It might give you this impression because of the large amount of open space underneath, but that's all. This residence was designed by Hyunjoon Yoo Architects and is located in South Korea. It's a residence is better suited for an older couple that enjoys spending time outside and exploring the surroundings.

As the architects let us know, the idea for this project was to create "space within space". So the location of all the rooms in the house is quite curious. In the middle there's a bathroom, a kitchen and a dress room, all crowded in there. A bedroom was placed in the east, a living room in the west, and a corridor in the outskirts. The idea was to give the impression of a bigger space than it actually is. That's probably because you get tires of walking all over the house just to get from one room to another.

Anyway, the design of the residence is simple and tasteful but more beautiful than that is the landscape and the amazing natural surroundings. It's a great place for all types of couples and families, even though a couple in their sixties would probably appreciate it more.

The illusion of a larger space is visible in the inside as well. Everything is white, except for the furniture. It's a modern approach, very stylish and elegant.

Instances of property, which might be unmistakable or theoretical, incorporate car vehicles, modern gear, furniture, and land plot for sale - the remainder of which is regularly alluded to as "genuine property."
