Wonderful Office Space by Pottgiesser

Posted: 28 Mar 2011 10:34 AM PDT

Work is a way of living but is also a way of getting satisfaction and feel accomplished. Every one of us feels nice when he is satisfied with his work but most of all when his work is appreciated by others.

Our working place is also important. It should inspire our work and provide all the necessary conditions to develop our activity. The headquarters of the two companies Pons and Huot share the same office space, designed by Pottgiesser. Actually it is a restored industrial hall which became a wonderful office space.

It looks like a magic forest, the way the offices are arranged with their own globe of glass and the fichus panda trees which delimit each office. The cute lamps that appear between offices create a beautiful environment and look like little glow worms. It is a space which looks more like a fairy tale scene than a working place.

Drought Tolerant Garden Design

Posted: 28 Mar 2011 09:37 AM PDT

We all know how unforgiving nature can be sometimes. And every time this happens we just say "there's nothing we can do". This is not true anymore. Now there is something you can do. You can solve the problems that you encounter with your personal garden, for example.

Eckersley Garden Architecture has come up with a very good solution that you will find very practical especially if you're living in an area with dry climate. The idea was to create a drought tolerant garden that would be able to survive even when nature decides to deprive us of rain and that still looks very attractive.

As you can see there are a variety of plants and flowers that you can choose for your garden and that you can combine in any way you want. They are very colorful and beautiful but, more than that, they have the ability of surviving with very little water, which is vital in places like Australia for example. I think this is an option that you should really consider. The garden you see in the images is opened for the public so feel free to visit it and to let it inspire you.

5 Great Bath Storage Ideas

Posted: 28 Mar 2011 08:40 AM PDT

Bathrooms are always notorious for being the smallest rooms of a house. Though they are the smallest room but there are always a hell lot of things that need to be stored in the bathrooms. Staring from toilet paper, to toiletries, grooming products, make up products, towels and other necessary items used in the daily life are all tried to be accommodated in the bathroom. However, it is also very important to keep the bathroom clean and tidy.

In order to prevent the bathroom from wearing a cluttered and crowded look, it is essential to have proper efficient storage solutions. All of us are aware of the typical cabinets and shelves as a storage solution.

Wicker baskets – Who said wicker baskets, can be only used for carrying objects to the picnic spot. These baskets can be a great assistance in storing miscellaneous items in the bathroom such as towels, toiletries, shower cap, etc. In addition, these baskets look amazing anywhere in the bathroom. You can place them on the cabinet, below the sink or behind the doors.

Wine racks – wine racks that are typically used to hold wine bottles can be introduced in the bathroom as a great storage solution as well as a decorative item. The rack can be used to hold rolled up towels and napkins. Place occupied by the towels in the cabinet will be freed, and the freed space can be used for storing other things.

Space behind the door – the space behind the door is generally wasted and is of no use at all. You will be delighted to know that this space can be used as an efficient storage solution. Install few hooks behind the door, and the place is ready to hang things such as clothes, nightwear, towels, laundry bag, etc.

Install shelves above the toilet – the wall space above the toilet is generally not employed for any use. You may use this space by installing hanging shelves on the free wall space. Just ensure to leave decent space between the toilet tank and the shelf.

Shower curtains featuring pockets – shower curtain serve no other functional need than covering the bath area. So why not put it to work. Buy shower curtains that feature pockets. The pockets offer an excellent storage solution for keeping soap, razor, sponge, toiletries, etc.

Mustard pillow for fast food lovers

Posted: 28 Mar 2011 07:20 AM PDT

If you enjoy eating fast food, you're going to find this pillow very interesting. It's a yellow rectangular pillow with a hot dog patch on it and a flat decorative … spill. It is actually called The Mustard pillow. It is a very unconventional detail that would add a funny touch to your interior.

The dimensions of this pillow are 14'' x 22'' and it costs only 8 $ if you live in America or Canada, or 12 $ for everywhere else. And, just in case someone doesn't like mustard very much, the designer has also created Soy Sauce and Ketchup pillow, also with Spill.

I wonder if there's going to be a Mayo pillow as well. Be careful not to mix them though, because you might not like the taste. You can order them online at Etsy.So don't waste any more time and get yourself a funky pillow. It would also make a great gift for someone with a sense of humor.

Living room is one of the vital parts of a house that is known to create the first and last impression on the visiting guests. If you want this room to be the envious of your friends then how about selecting a blue and white color scheme for the living room? Blue and white combination is a nice color scheme. Choosing this scheme to decorate the living room will allow introducing relaxing and soothing effects in the room. The shade of white and blue have the perfect balance and your living room will come to be a surreal design.

1) Start of the process of creating a soothing blue and white living room by introducing candy blue colored furniture pieces and accents. Buy a rich blue color cloth or leather loveseat and couch set as the starting point. If you wish to add a calming and whimsical touch to the room, then buy the set in robin blue color. Alternatively, you may also buy a set containing both the colors.

2) Add a striking contrast to the blue furniture pieces by staining dark wood furniture pieces such as the bookshelf or the coffee table in optical white color. The splash of white will bring in a modern and contemporary look to the space. Complement this look by placing white delicate rugs in white color on the floors.

3) Enhance the loveseat and couch set by throwing in decorative blankets and pillows in pristine white color. You may also choose the blanket and pillow set in white and blue geometric patterns to impart a classic look. White and blue floral designs may be selected to add an artistic touch to the room.

4) For the window coverings, employ curtains crafted out of blue chiffon material to lighten the look. On the other hand, if the walls are painted in blue, then select printed curtains following the white and blue color scheme. Ensure that the base color is white and the print is in blue.

5) Lastly, ornate the room with varied items complementing the color scheme. Hang a large mirror. Place a white flower vase filled with blue orchids on the coffee table. Another vital addition to be added to the room is an incredible white chandelier hanged from the ceiling to supervise and complete the serene environment created by the color theme.

This project was developed by Kamat and Rozario for its client – Ananya Technologies. The company manufactures electronic parts for aircrafts, and this became the inspiration of the décor. The entire floor plan was designed as if it was an integrated circuit board. Colorful pipes were floated in the ceiling to connect the various hubs.

As the client wanted a lot of storage space and 30% of the floor to be bare, the architect lifted the storage space from the ground and left the below space bare. As a result, floor space got freed and huge storage space was also created.
