TEEbooks, the anti – bookcase

Posted: 23 Mar 2011 10:56 AM PDT

If you love books but you don't like bookcases, your problem just got solved thanks to the designer Mauro Canfori. He created a very interesting shelving system that can be used in a number of different shapes. This way you can create any form you want, simple or complicated. You can design your own shape according to your personality and the space that is available.

All these things are very interesting, but they are not the key feature that distinguishes this bookcase from all the other adaptable ones. What is really unique about this one is the fact that when it's completely covered with books, the shelves become almost invisible to the eye.

It's like the books are floating on the walls.And because it's invisible, you don't have to worry about adapting it to match the rest of the furniture. It's a piece of furniture very easy to adjust in any type of interior.

Ideas to Decorate Area Above the Bed

Posted: 23 Mar 2011 10:07 AM PDT

Do you have your bed against the wall? Does the wall stand as the headboard? Is the wall pretty tall and is completely naked? Well, if this is the case, then you should consider decorating the area above the bed. This shall bring in visual interest in the room and enhance the décor of the room.

Artwork – the easiest way to decorate the area above the bed is to hang an art work. The piece of art can be anything. You can choose landscapes, portraits, floral designs and even modern painting. If you have a piece of art created by you, don't be afraid to hang this.When hanging artwork, ensure that the frame of the artwork complement the décor of the room and is in alignment with the art, or else it shall appear out of the place. Alternatively, you may also paint art directly on the wall. A floral graphic design can be easily drawn and painted with the help of a stencil.

Poster/Mural – if you are unable to pick up an impressive art work, hang a large poster or a mural on the wall. The poster can be of anything – a piece of nature, a modern art, or a character from your favorite music album. This will give the room a personality as it shall reflect your preferences and style.

Fabric – Hang a swatch of fabric over the bed area. This is an economical, easy option and has a significant impact. All you need to ensure is that design and color of the fabric complements the décor of the room. You may also create several fabric swatches in different shapes, get them framed and hang them in a pretty pattern.

Plates – try hanging plates of varied sizes, colors and designs in different patterns above the bed area. Alternatively, you may also create your own unique plates by painting the individual plate with some interesting design or scribing a quote on it.

Photographs – Photographs are also an interesting option to decorate the empty wall space above the bed. You may hang a huge portrait of you and your family in sepia or black and white effect. Alternatively, you may also select a number of pictures in different effects and hang them haphazardly.

Modern and stylish Cube chair

Posted: 23 Mar 2011 06:22 AM PDT

This comfortable piece of furniture is a modern approach to the traditional design for the armchair. It is a nice balance between the classic structure and the contemporary look.The Cube chair, as the designer Svilen Gamalov calls it, has a very distinguished look. The fine curves and the elegant and sophisticated combination of colors make this a very pleasant piece of furniture. The black and white one actually reminds me of a penguin, probably because of the colors and the shape.

This chair was designed to envelop the user, and that's exactly what it does. When you sit in it you feel like you really belong there. It's a perfect fit. And it's not just good looking, but also very comfortable. Because it comes in different combinations of colors, you can choose the one you like best and that matches the style of your home. The black wall unit suspended allow to store things underneath, for example books collection.The oversized floor lamp plays an important role adding personality and why not illuminating the living room.

Black and white combination works because simplicity is beautiful and the proportionate and balanced usage of colors is enough.{found on ekenstam}

Wurzburg Modern Vacation Lakehouse

Posted: 23 Mar 2011 04:45 AM PDT

Blended perfectly with its background, this is an incredible modern house designed by Archimania on a wooden sub division on the Pickwick lane. The waterfront house offers amazing views of the lake as the structure is partially embedded into the sloping plot. The main area of the house is divided into two sections – public and private by the help of the entry pathway. The public zone features a low ceiling and offers exquisite views of the forest. On the other hand, the private zone opens up to the lake and allows the owner to enjoy the serene water side atmosphere.

The architects used warm,rustic materials close to nature,while clean lines and minimal interiors express the client's affinity for modern design.

The main idea of this project was to create a comfortable vacation house with enough living and sleeping space to accommodate a large extended family on weekend getaways.The total building area is 4,829 sf  located into the steeply sloping site which reduces the home's visual impact from the street.{found on contemporist and archdaily}
