Mayfair Sconce for the Door

Someone said you don’t realize the importance of a thing until you lose it. Well, it is true in most cases and this includes the porch light or the light by the front door. You may laugh as much as you want but think about the following scenario: someone knocks at your door in the middle of the night and your front door light isn’t working. I know, you are not laughing any more. So every little thing in the house or outdoors has its function and importance.

 

 

 

 

This nice Mayfair sconce is perfect to be used on your porch or on the front door, casting light on the house number but also on the face of the person knocking or ringing at your door. Spring Green Living room

Well, Saint Patrick’s Day is already gone, but spring is still here, so I thought it would be a good idea to suggest you the spring green as the colour of choice for the living room. It is a youngish colour and it suggests life and the willing to be alive, nature’s return to life and a new beginning. So I consider this particular shade of green to be very optimistic and generating good thoughts, so it is perfect for the living room.

It is easy to combine this colour with natural colours like dark green and brown, just like in nature. Imagine you are in the forest in the middle of spring. just look around you and observe the colours and use the same combinations in your home – the light green of the fresh leaves, the nice brown of the ground, some shades of white and certainly black.

If you want to be a bit more conservative and do not dare to experience new things, you’d better go for the combination of two colours: light green and white. You can’t miss  it and the effect is guaranteed. The room will suggest cleanliness and freshness, a full life and also happiness. If you are a modern kind of guy and especially if you are a single man, go for the combination of green and black with little touches of white here and there that will widen the area.

Choose the furniture the same colours or in close ones and maybe add the beige, too, as it is the perfect colour for furniture. Get inspiration from the pictures shown here and let me know about the results.

I have never given too much thought to the furniture I have in the house until I wanted to replace it and buy some new one. I think shower curtains are very useful whether you have a shower or a bathtub in your bathroom. Either way you splash water around when bathing and if you have a bathroom mat or a vanity or some bathroom shelves you will make them all wet and that’s annoying. Even if you wet only the tiles and the floor, you make it impossible for someone else to use the bathroom at the same time or immediately after unless you clean it carefully. Jackson Street Furniture BIG (O)Val Table

We need some pieces of furniture more than we need others and, except for the bed where we sleep I think the most important ones are tables. You need a table to eat on or to write on (a desk actually) and you also need a bed side table to put your stuff on, you need a coffee table to place the coffee cups on when you have guests and so on. So you must be careful to choose the right kind of table for your house, one that fits the overall design of the room and also serves its purpose. And I have found a very good example: the Big oval table from Jackson street furniture or simply “the big O”.
