Dried Flowers for Decorating the House

Posted: 06 Mar 2011 02:46 AM PST

A house interior looks nice not only if you choose the right kind of furniture, carpet or curtains. You can improve a home’s look significantly by simply using very nice decorations like a painting, a decorative bowl, coloured candles or simply a vase of fresh flowers. Fresh flowers always make a room livelier and better looking and bring an air of joy to the room, that is why they are the perfect instruments when you want to make your home festive. But sometimes you don’t have fresh flowers because you can’t possibly buy fresh flowers every week, so you can do some other trick to use flowers – just use dried ones.

I know there are many specialized shops that sell decorating arrangements, but you can make these special bouquets at home. Just remove the water from the vase where you put a nice flower arrangement and they will dry standing up just like when they were fresh,. One important tip: if you see that some flowers start bending their heads when drying, take the bouquet and hang it somewhere upside down until all the flowers dry completely.  They will look amazing. You can also use those “immortelles’ – the plants that never die, the little flowers that are used by people all over the world to decorate the flower bouquets, to fill the space between plants and make them look beautiful. They can be very little and white or round like buttons and colourful or you can even use small bush branches that are dried. And then combine everything in a nice decoration that you can use everywhere in your home, especially in the living room.

Tea Sets from Limoges Porcelain

Posted: 06 Mar 2011 01:29 AM PST

When we wake up ion the morning the first thing to do is to drink a cup of steaming coffee. Well, this is a modern habit, but in the past people used to drink tea instead of coffee. And there was a certain ritual of the tea, a tea ceremony that had to be respected and implied a lot of grace and respect. Some people still prefer drinking tea to coffee and even fewer use the graceful and delicate porcelain sets made especially for this purpose. However, there are still some good families, usually belonging to high society that still use these porcelain tea sets and admire and purchase the ones made by the famous Limoges porcelain manufacturers.

These amazing tea sets are real masterpieces because they are made of porcelain and then hand painted. The distinctive feature of these porcelains is the fact that they all have a band of gold or platinum that makes them precious and sparkling. After the porcelain models are burned into fire they are polished with an agate stone in order to obtain even more depth and richness for the gold applied. Each set is made of six tea cups and saucers, a tea pot, a sugar bowl and a cream jug. Each set can be ordered for a price between 700-1099 euro.

If you want to spend some relaxing moments with your friends at a cup of tea then you have an excellent option.

A1 Architects designed a Hat Tea House, inspired from their Japanese experience. It is a small house, surrounded by a beautiful garden, in the middle of a peaceful place. It is an oak structure, located in Ostrova in the Czech Republic.It has a surface of 1.80 square meters, clothed in larch with a shingle roof. Its hearth is hidden in a drawer, under the wooden bench.

It looks funny because of its hat design and its minimalist space and wood material create a warm, rustic atmosphere where you can enjoy peaceful moments with your best friends. You can admire the beautiful surrounding views as some portions of the wooden walls can be folded or lifted up, enjoying a nice cup tea.{via dezeen}

Multifunctional objects have always proved their practicality and usefulness. These types of objects try to make our life easier and more beautiful.

This is the case of this "Light Crate" designed by Clemens Tissi. It is a multifunctional object which can be used as a table, a table with shelves or a floor lamp.It is a table made of foldable items which we can arrange the way we want so that we get the model which we like and think it fits our room. It offers us the opportunity to change our interior design each time we change the arrangement.

It is a table which can also store books and it has a source of light too. So, it can also be used as a floor lamp.

It can be a practical object of furniture or we may use it as a decorative item too.
