| Furniture and Art Combination by Jon Brooks Posted: 04 Mar 2011 11:07 AM PST Many times those who design the pieces of furniture are also artists and they have a special vision on things and then they use this vision in their works, showing their inspiration in the things they do, they design. Jon Brooks is the perfect example of such an artist, as he creates unique pieces of furniture that reflect his visions, too. Look at this sphere stool or this original contorted ladder or the unusual combination of chair and ladder instead of back rest. Or the unique support for the candles, the menorrah. He combines in a fortunate way craftsmanship, inventiveness and poetic art.
Most of all I admire his ability to use the the elements inspired from nature and turn them into components of his furniture creations. All the twisted branches of the ladder and of the chairs remind you of the tree branches and everything seems so natural , even though unusual. It’s like walking along a deserted beach or in the woods.

| Quartz Wash Basins from Giquadro Posted: 04 Mar 2011 10:44 AM PST Usually the bathroom wash basin is a bit small, just enough to allow us to wash our hands and face. We never regard it as an expensive piece for the home or as something that could be luxurious. But if you want to have a special wash basin , something that is unique and special and also looks really nice, then you can buy yourself a quartz wash basin from Giquardo. This wash basin is really special because it is made of a special material: granite natural stone in combination with composite quartz.
These nice looking wash basins are not round or oval like most other basins, but their shape is square, which gives them the name, as the Italian for square is “quadro”. Another unusual and interesting thing is that these wash basins are sculpted from a single block of stone, the precious granite I mentioned before. Of course the material is pretty expensive which makes the wash basin expensive, too, but it is worth it as it’s singular and special and makes your bathroom a special place |

| Home Office Design Tips For Small Spaces Posted: 04 Mar 2011 06:00 AM PST Thanks to the internet allowing more of us to work from home, home offices have become a really popular form of home renovation over the past decade. Setting out a separate office space in your home has many benefits.Keeping work papers and equipment in a dedicated room or office space helps to keep your important work documents safe and helps to de-clutter your home space. Having your own dedicated workspace presents a more professional image to clients and colleagues, and your productivity levels can improve when you have somewhere where you can work in peace.
From 100£ So if you're thinking of creating an office area within your home, or dedicating a whole room or outbuilding to your work, what do you need to consider? With larger spaces, it really helps to draw out a room plan first. Take into consideration all of the furniture, storage space and equipment you're going to need. Having lots of items bunched into one area can make your office room look cramped and cluttered, so try to keep things evenly spaced. A handy tip to achieve this is to draw a line down the centre of your floor plan and arrange furniture equally on both sides of the divide.
If you're short on space, it can help to set your office area up against a wall. This way you can fit shelving in the office area, creating as much storage space as possible without using up valuable floor space. Decorative screens are another great way to section off your office area in a small space, keeping your work and home space separate.
From 63£ Use the space you have creatively. Perhaps you have a hall cupboard, guest bedroom closet or under-stairs area that you can use for office purposes. With the clever use of shelving and space-efficient office furniture, you'll be surprised at just how much you can fit into a restricted space. When it comes to office furniture, look for desks with under-desk storage for your PC, files and computer equipment like printers and scanners to give you as much free desktop space as possible.
As for home office décor, you want to create a relaxing space where you can concentrate on your work. Stick to clean pastel shades that won't distract you. You can add touches of colour with prints, curtains, cushions and plants. Keeping plants in your home office space not only helps to keep the air clear, but bringing in a touch of nature can be very relaxing too.Make sure that you have sufficient lighting, and try to arrange your office layout around your existing power sockets to avoid unsightly cables trailing across your work area. When shopping for office furniture and materials, you can save yourself time and money by shopping at specialist office supply stores. |
