Beautiful Wire Dragonfly String Lights Posted: 01 Mar 2011 11:02 AM PST Light creates a wonderful atmosphere if you know how to use it. You can create beautiful things which can impress the others. It all depends on the thing which you use for capturing the light. The design of this thing is important. Dragonfly is a fragile summer insect which impresses you with its beautiful shape. It is a nice shape for capturing a source of light inside it.Your outdoor décor will look gorgeous and the lighted dragonflies will create a ferric atmosphere. They will look like those little glow worms which seem like little stars in the darkness of night.
They remind me of the summer starry nights which I have spent at the country side on my summer holidays. Here I had beautiful moments with my friends where we met and had long conversations at the light of stars and moon and the night seemed too short for our stories. |

Choosing a Storm or Security Door Posted: 01 Mar 2011 03:45 AM PST It is very easy to say that storm door isn't very important. It simply secures the house and keeps the bugs away. However, this is not true. A storm or security door is a sturdy, strong door that provides ventilation and protects the exterior door from rough weather. These doors are designed in such a method that they complement the décor style of the main existing door. As a result, the decorative aspect of the main door is not disturbed, though the storm door shadows the main door. There are various types of storm doors available in the market to cater to different needs. There are several factors that need to be considered while purchasing a storm door. Here is a list of few tips to assist you choose the right storm or security door.
Types of storm or security doors In accordance to your budget, one or other type of storm door might interest you. Varied types of materials are used to manufacture storm doors. The most common material used today for manufacturing storm doors is steel. Steel storm doors are durable, strong, resistant to tears and holes, and are also inexpensive. Aluminum and vinyl are other popular choices as they are less expensive. However, they are not as durable as steel. The most expensive storm door is the one made out of wood. Wooden storm doors are the ideal choice if you are looking for an exquisite piece to complement your decoration theme. Shapes and sizes Most of the storm doors are sold as pre hung units along with the hardware required to install the door such as latches, closers and hinges. As a result, they are available in standard width size that is 36, 34, 32 and 30. The doors may be hinged on one side or on the both sides. On the other hand, if you desire a custom shape or size, you need to conduct a research to find out the best deal in accordance to your requirement. Hardware The hardware that comes with the storm door should also be considered. Some of the storm doors come with a door closure and rest with a door stopper. Inspiring Selgas Cano- Office Building Posted: 01 Mar 2011 03:25 AM PST Man has always been part of nature. Nature is the one which influences our lives and we are the ones who affect it. It is an interindependent relationship. Sometimes our interventions upon nature affect us too. It is the reaction of nature to what we have tried to do it. Nature still remains the perfect place for our living. Here we find all the necessary resources for our living and it is a wonderful, relaxing place where we can do whatever we like to. Iwan Baan seems to have the same opinion. He designed this tube- shaped office in the middle of nature. It is a building half sunken into the ground, with large windows which assure wonderful panoramic views for those who work in these offices. This type of office represents the perfect working place where you can enjoy the quiet ambience and the wonderful views of nature which inspire your work and mood.

Posted: 01 Mar 2011 02:04 AM PST The basic principles of feng shui which are often applied to a home can easily be applied to an office also. Similar to the home front, the approach of office feng shui concepts are to achieve an excellent flow or balance between harmony and the flow of "chi". Offices designed with feng shui guidelines allow the owner to focus on the development of his career and avoid unpleasant effects of office politics and disagreements. It offers the exceptional advantage of promoting interpersonal relationships with superiors and colleagues and thereby attaining a harmonious working condition. Here is a list of some golden feng shui rules that can be applied to an office – De clutter – one of the primary rules of feng shui which is applied to homes also is to get rid of all sorts of clutter as it is known to hinder the smooth flow of "chi". Organize the files and documents and make it a habit to dispose of everything, which is not required. Desks should be clean, drawers should be well organized and hanging computer chords neatly tied. Getting rid of the clutter will create room for new opportunities.
Function – the other primary rule of feng shui applicable to the office is the function. Functionality should be the sole factor in deciding the placement of furniture, installation of fixtures and even technology in the office. Every object should be placed and optimized according to its usage. Comfortable – feng shui is also known to lay a lot of importance on being comfortable. Being comfortable in the office gives way to calm working environment and maximized productivity at all times. In addition, the layout of the office furniture should also be considered. For instance, one should not have his back facing anything else except a wall. The optimal setup is to face the door so that people entering the room can be seen. Accent pieces – similar to home, feng shui suggests to introduce accent pieces to the office also. The ideal accent piece for any office is a table fountain. The pleasant sound of flowing water shall contribute to create a calm environment. Aquarium is another item that can be added. Rearrange - As change is an inevitable element of life, one must give utmost consideration to rearrange the furniture at least once in every two to three months. This shall optimize the work environment. |
Twine Coffee Table from Casamania Posted: 28 Feb 2011 09:10 PM PST The simple and usual things we use every day are so ordinary that we cannot imagine what it would be like living without them. However, they have been invented some time and people did manage without them. I am talking about the button. We don’t even realize we have them until we lose one. That is the source of inspiration for the ladies from Casamania who used the button shape and appearance to make the Twine coffee table. This funny coffee table has its table top looking just like a button, all round and having two sets of holes in the middle. And these two holes are used to introduce the metal legs. They will look like the “twine” in the button and at the same time will be the support for the table top. This table top is made of lacquered MDF and the structure is made of metal. It looks really funny, especially if you watch it from above and you can order one with a specific colour of the legs so as to match the other pieces of furniture, the carpet or the whole design of the room. |
