garlic chives are used in cooking. they're also called false garlic if i understand right. They are hardy and can stand very little sprinkler coverage. the flowers are on tall thin stalks and are pretty in vases -- they do smell slightly like garlic (no surprise). They fill in over time so can slowly cover bare ground if you need that. Some community gardens don't permit this plant due to the seeds which can spread the plant easily. We have to dig up some to make room for other plants.
